Love the simplistic layouts you do, Ru! They're aesthetic and functional without being too much - especially for a pre-filled type of planner. Congrats on the new job! I wish my job gave me as much free time at home! So happy to hear how much joy it brings you to write in your journals every day and the pandas...omg they are so cute!!! I need some panda themed washi, stickers, or magnetic pins for my leather journals.
Thanks Lao! Sometimes I would love to do more complicated, elaborate layouts but I never know where to start 😅 But I do like the simple look as well, it's not too distracting.
Hi, I just discovered your channel and I really like the vibes here. I will probably now binge your whole channel lol. Also happy to see a fellow GW2 player! 💪💪
13:24 I am also in the minority of struggling in hot weather. i have been having a really hard time this month (especially since we have no aircon). i feel much more myself and rpdocutive (and happy hahah) when its a bit gloomy or sunny but cold congratulations on the job, ru!!
Congratulations on your new role, Ru! Such an exciting and stressful time! Please be sure to take all the time you need to settle in and be comfortable. You spoil us! We subbies will be here waiting for you!
Congratulations on your new role! That’s so exciting! Take all the time you need to settle into your role. We’ll still be here whenever you update! ☺️ As for the planner update: I love how you’ve been decorating and filling out your take-a-note! It’s so clean and satisfying to see the pages filled up after you’ve written in them. 🥲 I like your Paper Tess designs as well. Your set-up reminds me a lot of a Notion template (which I think looks really good!).
Chatty planner updates are my favorite so this was just up my alley. Thank you for the video. And congratulatiosn on the new job, which is also a good segue to the subject of what are you using for work planning? Paper or just digital? And if changing jobs effects your work planning routines? I really like the papertess design layout and if I would have a meeting heavy job, or a job where I need to do lots of planning/week that might be what I would gravitate towards. It has enought structure so you can put things straight to the correct week, but enough space to be creative on a week to week basis. But my job is not like that so I have no need for a seperate work planner.
Thank you so much! That's a good question actually. For my old job, I used a combination of digital planning and notes, and then a notebook for to-do lists or working out ideas. I think for the exact reasons you described, the papertess designs could work well for work. I think I'm going to start mostly digitally and see where I could incorporate more paper planning. For work, digitally works well for me from a functional point of view, but writing makes me happy and brings some extra joy into a work day. I think the type of work you do makes a lot of difference in terms of planning needs, taking notes, etc.
Congratulations on the new job! Your planners look so orderly and aesthetically pleasing! My planner is so utilitarian. I have seriously been considering adding stickers.
Thank you! I've realised that I use my planner considerably less when it doesn't look pretty - which is kind of silly, really - so I try to keep it kind of aethetically pleasing to keep myself motivated to actually do the important stuff 😂
how exciting to be starting a new job! congratulations on a successful application. i look forward to your videos and all your thoughtful commentary. you make some really logical points that work for my brain. your use of the papertess planner looks great. definitely something i need to consider. 😊 thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas! good luck with your new job!
Looks great, and congratulations on the new job! Moments such as that are also great opportunities to make changes in planning system(s) I've found. It's also funny to see another gw2 fan who is also into journaling / fountain pens :)
Congratulations with your new job 🎉 I hope you, the company and the work are a good match. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your planners. Currently I am using a cheap HEMA BJ, looking for another system that would fit me with good fountain pen friendly paper. Planning, journaling etc. Watching a lot of videos, reading reviews. It is a lot to think over as the nice books aren’t budget friendly 😊
Thank you so much! It's actually quite sad that so many cheaper planners don't have fountain pen friendly paper. I mean, it's okay if it doesn't show all of the shading or the colours are a bit off, but if the ink doesn't feather and bleed you could at least enjoy writing with a fountain pen in it. I used to quite enjoy HEMA planners, but that was before I had a fountain pen. I hope you find something really nice that fits your budget and works well for you!
They're from Journalsay! You can find them here: www.journalsay.com/products/journalsay-30mm-200cm-to-the-mountains-and-the-sea-series-vintage-watercolor-landscaping-pet-tape
The A5 with the grey front cover is from Take a Note, yes! I got it second-hand, as it seems to be sold out everywhere. They will be easier to find again in october/november or so, when stores stock up on next year's planners. If you want to get a look at all the specifics, you can check their website: take-a-note.store/en-us
@@ruonpaper Thanks for the update brother. I inspired a lot from your videos, soon going to choose a Journal lifestyle. :) This notebook looks nice, just like Hobonichi.:)

Thank you so much! 🫶 I am LOVING the take-a-note! I use Notion as well, maybe that is influencing how I look at layouts without me realising it? 🤔

hiii.. wondering where you got the landscape PET tapes you used on your take-a-note planner?
They're from Journalsay! You can find them here: www.journalsay.com/products/journalsay-30mm-200cm-to-the-mountains-and-the-sea-series-vintage-watercolor-landscaping-pet-tape
Can you give the links for these Planners? Is it from "Take a note"?

I feel like I’m always in a testing or experimental phase 😅
I always tell myself that next year won't be an experimental phase but that's probably a lie 🫣 But testing is fun as well!
