Yup I deffinetly suck in Russian jets. and I embarrassed my self in the F-35 in this video. lol. I deserver all the criticism. I much prefer fighting the high-fidelity models but. I am happy to do mods and help grow the mod community as well.

Simba did good in the dogfights but the other times he did no brainer moves he could do better
If you read the article by the Norwegian F-35 program pilot from a few years ago, he reports what this video shows. The Lightning has 2 or 3 high energy moves to make around merge and then has to leave the fight. He also said that the most likely merge would be a mutual launch of advanced FOX 2 with high probability of mutual kills. He also hints that the F-35 systems assist in a head on gun shot. Having watched the F-35 perform its airshow routine over my house every year for the past few years, one thing you might want to try when the Lightning loses its energy is rotate in yaw to present your missile arc towards your enemy. This fight seemed not to use the off boresight capabilities of modern IR missiles. In combination with the unusual maneuvering capabilities of gen 4.X+ aircraft it should make for more lethality. You guys were doing classic dogfighting.
That was ruled a misconception as well, keep in mind that this is a mod, and most specs are classified, so these are guesses on its abilities from hearsay. Irl it is now known that it's more agile than an f-16, out accelerates an f-16, and has an aoa over 50° and can jam flight systems such as MAWS, Radar, and incoming missile targeting systems

Go watch any F-35 Flight demo from 2019 on. Those demos feature the full Block 3F 9G rated F-35. Anything you saw before then featured a limited F-35.

Hey Cap, just some info on the HMS. After locking the target by superposing the sighting ring, if all the launch criteria are satisfied, the ring starts flashing at a frequency of 2 Hz, signaling "ПР" (launch authorized). In other words, when the sighting ring is flashing you do not need to launch override, as you are already within launch parameters.
That was a good fight regardless!

Because they are using the r73A that is a misile of the 80, like the aim9m. In the 80 the r73 was the best misile.
The aim9x is of the 2000 and late. Rusian planes nowadays use the r74, r74m and the most advance ones like su 57, su 35, mig 35 and su 75 the r74m2

We tested them by the dozens after the collapse of the Soviet Union, using the top models that were left in Easy Germany (not monkey models). There are different AIM-9X variants as well. ASRAAM, Python-5, and AIM-9X Block II are the ones to beat. We’re in an era where “short range” missiles have become BVR missiles in the closer BVR kill baskets. AIM-9X has more live-fire testing at extremely maneuverable and IR countermeasures-equipped TGT drones than any of the others. In the 1980s, the Python-3 and AIM-9L had the most testing against real fighters, on top of TGT drones.

I'm pretty sure that's what she's actually saying. Presumably these aircraft carry a small payload of aubergines onboard which could be damaged by high-g manoeuvres so she's just reminding the pilot of that fact.

The free mods no longer have access to the Su-27/33 flight models, which are required for this to work.

My money is on the 35. I mean, the one that isn't flown by Simba. He drove his F-5 like a car, no wonder he loses almost every round. You're not supposed to throttle back right before or during turns. As long as IR missiles are not a concern, park it on AB and pull harder or point your nose higher whichever happens to be more appropriate at that moment. You only throttle back if you fucked up by letting your speed get too fast or mismanaged your geometry. There are some other cases but that covers about 95% of them.

You drew the wrong conclusion in this case from your data. With you in the F-35 your results were 60/40 in favor of the Lightning. With you in Su-35 they were 100% in favor of the Flanker. This illustrates a better pilot not a better airframe. If the F-35 was equipped with an HMD I suspect different results as Simba was having an issue with HoB targeting, but I suspect HoB and SA displays are not easy or locked by ED.
The R-73 doesn’t work against the F-35 in IR spectrum very well at all, whereas Su-35 IR signature is huge for the AIM-9X. Then factor in HMD and LOAL capability with both AIM-9X and AIM-120C7 or higher and the Flankers don’t want to get WVR of anything 5th Gen, not that they could anyway. RCS on the Su-35 is also huge.
It still shows favor of the airframe. He was 100 percent victorious with the su35 and alot of them were by gun kill.
The aim9x was the factor for the 60/40 in the f35 not the airframe.
But then again at the beginning of the film he said the engine model of the su35 is not modeled the 3d thrust vectoring.
So means he would have pulled off even tighter turns. But these aircraft are also design with completely different missions.
Su35s long range air superiority, f35 is a multirole with ground support more primary.
So kinda logical the best way to show off other aspect would be true BVR, with fox 3.

Can't zee Je.. Herr Vagner model zee F-35 somewhat real for crying out loud?!? In reality F-35 doesn't need to turn in dogfight thanks to its EODAS, JHMCS, Aim-9x/9xII und Aim-120D which has HOBS capabilities including Aim-9xII with its Lock after launch. In reality this shouldn't even be close.

Exactly. IF modelled properly, the F-35 won't even have a HUD, because of the helmet mounted display. So, yes, HOBS is integral to the design. The F-35 also has stealth and the best SA in the world due to its sensor fusion....so the F-35 will choose how to initiate a conflict...or decide not to at all. It can also use the missiles from other platforms - like the F-15EX - to command a launch at a target while remaining undetected. In reality...not in DCS....the F-35 is a game changer.
The Lightning has better MER and turn (provided it has speed). Harder to take advantage of those than power.
Hence why the newer models of su 35 have thrust vectoring

@@samuellatta6774 it won't matter because the long band radar will pick up an invading 35 and they can't take damage either, anything hits and you're finished. Can't be fixed easy cant be maintained easily so they probably wouldn't even make it to contact an su-whatever in a realistic scenario

Su-35 in DCS use a SFM Standard Flight Model. This type of model can not have directed thrust.

The f-35 really needs its hud removed and a hms with the aim9x because it’s really designed to lean on its missile capabilities in a dog fight to make up for it’s own lack of maneuverability and power.

In the end, It really comes down to the pilot and experience. Put a shitty pilot In a F-35 versus an SU-35 with an experienced pilot who knows his aircraft personally, the SU-35 will win, 99% of the time.
F35s are sitting ducks in dogfights wid Flankers. Thats wht its said if a F35 has to get into a dogfight, sonething is definitely messed up wid the 35....
We don't build or design planes based on DCS style dog fights. They build them on realistic wartime scenarios. This means a 4:1 advantage in numbers for NATO against Russia. US aircraft prioritize stealth over maneuverability because the primary threat is from SAM systems, not Russian fighters, the majority of which will be killed from BVR. While the US fields hundreds of stealth F-35s and F-22s, Russia has yet to put a single stealth fighter in active service. You have the F-35 acting as a deep penetrator, doing EW and targeting on Russian fighters and SAM systems, with F-15EXs and other legacy fighters and bombers as missile trucks from stand off range.

Its no mentioning that the Lightning is a stealth fighter and possibly the Flanker would not even see him on his radar. Here the simulation is like the Lightning is a regular 4th generation plane. Also it has been seen that the Lightning is agile in the region of the Raptor, so the Flanker would have problems to outfly the Lightning! In real life scenario the F-35 would sneak up on the Flanker unseen on the radar and shoot him down without knowing that he is targeted.

@@Vkat696 those aren't the real specs dumbass 😂 the F-35A has a wing loading to weight ratio as the F-16, plus a higher rate of climb, 40% more lift, the same thrust to weight ratio of 1.08, and better 2 circle performance than the F16 and better one circle than the F-18. The engine core upgrade increases thrust to weight to 1.16 which is the same as the F-15. That's not even counting having much less drag since it's weapons are internal. You got baited by misinformation hook, line, and sinker

Its not precise at all. F35 in real life have no chance vs su 35s in dog fight. Those angle of attack u pulling with f35 are nonsense . Just to remind all indian real dog fight exercise with su 30mki vs dassault rafale or was typhon (not remember but was one of tham for sure) went 12-0 in favor of su 30mki. And su 35s with better engines than su 30mki is overpowerd in dog fight vs f 35. Even f22 have no chance vs su 35s in dog fight in real scenario. F35 can kill su 35 only on bvr combat. There f35 is one of the best if not the best in world.

@@Remix2366 well it may have it chance but you must know that Su-27/35 have best Clmax of all planes in earth right now (only Su-57 has more of it >2, but we have only one for now so its irelevant right now) For Su27/35 Clmax=1.85 and Clmax is energy gain by body or simply LIFT...Its a huge, rest of modern fighters have les then 1.5...for example 747 Boeing have Clmax with his landing flaps 1.74, from this we can see how body of Su-27/35 generates lot of lift energy. Its interesting but on high altitudes this come more to the fore...bigger body made for lift factor with its shape + large wings...F22 have great engines, but luck of the body lift factor beasue of its shape stealth one...
Now US made new aircraft based on Su-57S and its performance...they need good dogfiter and F-22 isnt...This plane was made in late 80s when time was different. YF-23 was plane USAF need it, not F-22, because YF-23 is similar to the Su-57 wiht dog fight performance...

@@Anarchy_420 that’s not true. Radars can detect stealth aircraft at close ranges. Exactly why an F-117 nighthawk was shot down by a S-125 in 1999. Stealth technologies has advanced significantly since then but so have radars.

This isn't surprising.. the 35 wasn't designed, or intended to be an air superiority fighter.. It was meant to be a jack of all trades. unfortunately, it's not quite as good a plane as everyone hoped.. But, they're gonna go with it anyway, despite the Raptor being infinitely better. Hell, even the 23 would have been a better choice of plane to compliment the Raptor. We almost had a carrier-based navy version of the Raptor.. that would have been sweet.

I mean if you’re a DCS purist, you’ll immediately recognize that both of these are mod planes. DCS has a lot of aircraft, but not that many.
