Thank you Mr. Evans for the wonderful lesson. I'm going to give this painting a go this afternoon. Your style and communication are second to none. Great teacher!
Charles, just started painting having retired and just found your videos. I must say your videos are so helpful and informative, you are a really great teacher, and the gems you drop whilst painting are so useful and insightful. Your pallet is something else!....😎👍🇦🇺all the best from an ex Pom living in Oz, 🇬🇧
This is inebriating, really. Very spontaneous. I return to this again and again. Love your painting materials in this paining. Your palette had much more available surface to mix the paint 😁😁😁!!! Thanks!
Amazingly, beautiful landscape! As always, it’s great pleasure to watch skilled artist creating a masterpiece of art. Thank you Charles for brightening up our days, with your dazzling colours and magical brush strokes.🙏
Hi Charles good to see your still around ,I did a small class with you many many years ago at patchings always rememember how you simplify things in your paintings a real encouragement ,Thanks from Anthony in sunny Wales ?
Brilliant Charles, I haven't touched my stuff for about 2 years now as I didn't think I was getting very far. Watching this video has encouraged me to blow away the dust and have another go using simpler techniques.
Hi Charles I have never painted anything in my life but after finding your Webb site I have given it a go and can’t believe how I am doing My paintings are really transporting me to do more and more, I think you are an excellent teacher and I greatly admire your work, I have to say I’m hooked! Regards Pete
Oh Charles, I just love the simple, common sense way you teach. Been watching some David Bellamy demos but he seems more interested in showing me the oeople paying to watch him. Thankyou for describing every move you make during your demos. Cheers bro.
This palette! OMG! But anyway it works fine, your colormixing is a wonderful lesson on it's one. Finally I know what to do with Hookers green, I never touched it - but now it will be my mixing favorite for all dark colors. Thanks!
Charles, Was recommended to check out your videos from a friend. Brilliant you are! One question. In your paletet, especially under the large mixing areas there seems to be something...(similar in color to Charles Evan's Sand watercolor) ...what is it?? Was making me crazy trying to figure it out. I can't say enough just how much I enjoyed watching this video. You remind me of a famous tv painter from the 70-80's, Bob Ross. You have his same ez breazy style. You do amazing landscapes and never take yourself too seriously. Charles, you have a new fan from across the pond!! XX
what a Hoot, watching you paint is much fun. the rocks are so realistic.... I would have spent 15 minutes on each rock trying to make it look natural, and you just flicked a credit card at it, lol you are totally an amazing artist !!! You make watercolor look so simple...Beautiful work!
Glad to see a new vid on TH-cam again. Enjoy your style and approach. I have a couple of your books which were quite helpful and I would recommend to anyone who loves watercolor. Keep bashing it on!
A wonderful painting! I just found your channel and I am so happy! I have learned so much in just this one video! I can't wait to check out all your other videos : ) Thank you for sharing!
Kevin Barry Jan 19 2018- Great demo Charles- very clearly explained at each step. Wonderful insight into colour mixing with just a few colours. A very down-to-earth friendly style. Thank you!
Hi Charles your paints are amazing 👏 I'm just starting to work with water colours.. a beginner 😳 so I'm abit unsure really where to start. Can you give me please any tips on the best way.. thankyou enjoyed the tatorial. Wonderful artist best wishes Jane 🙏
Hi Charlie-- great demo, as are all yours, easy to follow. Sorry haven't been in touch, But have subscribed, and hope you keep posting more videos! Best from Ireland -------Kay
Hi Charles, I loved this video. I've recently got right back into my painting, and your video was a great inspiration. I like the idea of using a photo as a base and then 'putting it away and using your own colours'. You've got a great talent. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful - I could watch you paint all day! Finished result is amazing. Thank you! I've decided never to clean out my palette again - hoping for better results!
Thanks for your in detail plaintiffs, I would like to follow some video’, have not been painting in the last 15 years and like to go back to it.Thanks for you encouragement! Joanne
You are a true 'breath of fresh air' Charles. (just not like the arty farty types). You inspire me to try more with my art, thanks. Oh yeah, you have inspired me to a bit of red wine too, just to keep up the shakes...
Charles I enjoyed this video so very much! I have been having some difficulties but your techniques were so clear! Thank You and will follow more videos.
Your color palette comprises inexpensive colors (pigments) besides being limited which makes watercolor painting very affordable and easier and the result is magnificent
Colour under the tape and the rocks don't convince me, but apart from that it's a very nice painting. Good hints and explanation of the process. And the video is well made!
Hi Charles Agnes again from Manila in fact water color is the hardest medium. But you' re still the best for me and nit selfish to share your beautiful mind. Keep it up!!! ' am following you. Best regards.
I just love watching you paint Charles. I only wish my landscapes were half as good. I'm stuck doing "Still Life, and Portraits," because they are easier for me and they are not even my favorite picture to have on the wall. Thank you for what you share.
I've noticed that the audio quality of your videos vary greatly. One that was outside was crystal clear and this one seems like it has tremendous echoing. Was wondering if its my audio or ?
I was able to find your book....Top Tips! (Comments below) It's wonderful. I set up a palette like yours, as I find full sets so overwhelming. We paint in a very simular style. Hopefully, someday I'll be close to as great as you! PRACTICE, PRACTICE....right? Thank you!
Cannot find WN 3/4” flat wash brush...understand they no longer make them. What would replace? I have watched hundreds of watercolor videos...yours are my favorite...I love the simplicity and all the mixing & other information...thank you
How lovely to find your videos here...I came to one of your workshops in Colchester must be upwards of 10 years ago. I'm looking forward to being able to concentrate on watercolours again....hopefully you still come down south occasionally to run some workshops as I'd love to attend.
This is the filthiest pallet I've ever seen LOL! Charles' colors are clean amazingly tho, I love the fearless application, also, that's some tuff paper to take all that scrubbing, wish I knew what brand
Really helpful narrative of your paint mixing of colours and paint brushes, would love to attend one of your beginners workshops but you are just too far away from Hampshire, do you plan to hold any workshops in the south of England pretty please? Thanks for the lovely tutorial, Karen
Karen Collar thank you very much. I do lots down south, but they tend to be for art societies. I'm doing 4 days of workshops throughout the year at Watershed studios in Essex, if that's any good.
Hi Charles, I could only see a couple of dates on their website for April, but it didn't mention beginner ..... and I am definitely a beginner . Would I be better joining your website, if you cater for beginners, and trying to do some basics first? Thanks again, Karen
Karen Collar Theres another 2 days booked later in the year too! You would be ok on that actually, get a lot of nervous starters on those! Yes the websites good, very in depth instruction.
This is a Kilngons’ palette! Bought the books #2 and #3, this time from your shop. It’s the least I could do to somehow thank you (and steal all the precios informations for that matter, hihihihi - witch-like laugh)
Hi Charles, I'm the one with the Crystal_Fishy twitter account (my real name is Serena Moon Lee Moon is my maiden, Lee is my married name). I just realized how you remind me a little of Bob Ross. I grew up watching him paint his happy little trees 🌲😊🌲 I love watching you paint.
Pretty and serene. 👍 ...just feel a bird 🦅 or three in the distance, and that so colourful sky would have completed the painting. ☺️ thank you for posting your painting tutorials. (Side note: it is a shame that your ‘Charles Evans’ Sand colour 14ml tube costs £7.50 but in total will actually cost us £11.20 with shipping🙁)
Pleased you enjoyed it. A tube of artists pigment colour 14ml tunes cost about £12 in shops. Cobalt blue is about £18. We sell so much of this colour because it is unique and very reasonably priced. We sell even more to the States, where the shipping costs more than for the UK.
Hi again Charles, so when all said and done I guess you are selling the sand colour for only 80 pence less than the shops! Unfortunately us working class folk cannot afford to spend our pennies on such luxuries. But I guess everything is relative to our own circumstances. 😕
Thank you Mr. Evans for the wonderful lesson. I'm going to give this painting a go this afternoon. Your style and communication are second to none. Great teacher!
