This kettle has two major problems - and if someone had told me about them I certainly would not have bought the Artisan.
The first issue is that this kettle is HEAVY
Secondly the capacity window is hidden under the handle - so those of us who like to only boil the amount of water that we need cannot SEE the water level.

I bought this kettle 2 days ago and sent it back asap. The entire interior is coated with a trasparent plastic except the bottom. This is the most beautiful, the most expensive but the most unhealthy kettle in the world. What a bad idea to coat the interior with a plastic to prevent the outside from getting hot???

Disappointed with my NEW KitchenAid kettle as it has a design flaw. Only after using this kettle a few times the open/close button stopped working, and it does not open the lid. What a shame, I did not expect this poor quality workmanship from A KitchenAid product
