is the outer surface plasric coated for safety so that our hand doesn't burn accidentally?
It's not. It gets super hot. The manual says to make sure to only use the kettle by its handles :)

@@sonisankhla7035 I returned my KitchenAid Kettle yesterday since it was literally falling apart due to bad quality and manufacturing. Looking for something else now, maybe will go for Zwilling kettle.
@@GeneralCw We don't have that brand in India yet I am guessing. Lemme look for it. I so badly wanted the black coloured temperature control Kitchen Aid Kettle. Coz for green tea 90 degrees hot water is recommended. But not buying it anymore. Moreover, only 3-4 ppl have reviewed it on Amazon in India so urs was a great help.
I wished mine would last longer than the chinese ones, I thought it might be IP68 waterproof as my phone - I was wrong, so much money thrown away, I am buying a chinese one now.
