She can drink most dudes under the table & She can handle her dope a lot better than most junkies. Like her twin Sister! To my knowledge Kim never hit bottom with dope. It was the, "Drink." Believe me, I am not being critical. ( Al Jourgensen of, "Ministry"

He blew A LOT of F-ing Money on his appetite for Drugs: mainly Heroin, (Deso-Morphine), Methadone, Cocaine & Crack-Cocaine, & last, but not least; old-fashioned Ethyl Alcohol. The worst 😫 Drug ever made, except for, "Krocadil" & other obscure crazy Drugs. Alcohol is a systemic poison that damages everything in the human body, except for: finger, toe nails, body hair & head hair. The hair being immune to the damage caused by Ethyl Alcohol is in debate. I lost most of gMany female alcoholics are adamant in their opinion that states: Ethyl Alcohol is bad for hair, it causes hair to be dry & difficult to handle & it causes split ends. All of these are supposed claims. Alcohol is socially accepted, yet it causes more violent crimes & property damage than all illicit drugs combined. I spent eleven months at Guantanemo Naval Base where Alcohol is tax free. This was in '99-2000 & a six pack of Budweiser long neck bottles was $2.68.
A fifth of Jack Daniel's was about $7 even.
My point is, the U.S. Government makes a tremendous amount of money off of Alcohol via taxes & The Prison Industrial Complex. However, it is a ridiculous double standard. I know. I got off track. - B

The first drummer was actually Britt Walford, credited on the album, Pod, as Shannon Doughton. He was originally in the Louisville, Kentucky based band Slint and was introduced to Kim Deal by Steve Albini, who had recorded Slint's first album, Tweez, in 1989.

Jim wasn't a part of the band until 1992 btw
This is a more accurate account of their lineup history from the early years:
    Original Lineup:
    Kim + Kelley
    1988:
    Kim + Tanya Donelly
    Pod Demos:
Guitar & Vocals: Kim + Tanya
Drums: David Narcizo, Mickey Bones, and Carl Haarer
    Bass: Ray Halliday
    1989:
Josephine joins the band as the bassist.
Britt Walford becomes the drummer (suggested by Steve Albini)
    1992:
    Kelley joins
    Tanya leaves
    Britt leaves
Jon Mattock? (Apparently breifly became their drummer in 1992)
Jim MacPherson joins as new drummer
Carrie Bradley was the violinist for the Pod Demos through to Last Splash and then rejoined for the 1996-1997 shows.

It's a shame how almost never The Kelley Deal 6000 is mentioned when the history of The Breeders is brought up, amazing band she created after rehab, they have two kickass albums, go check them out now: Go to the Sugar Altar and Boom! Boom! Boom!

Yeah, I thought they were going to mention The Kelley Deal 6000 when they mentioned Kelley going to Minnesota for rehab. Boom! Boom! Boom! is an underrated masterpiece in my mind. I was at a Breeders show in Minneapolis in the mid-2000s where there were several people in the crowd yelling at them to play "Canyon" from Go to the Sugar Altar, and when the Breeders came back a few years later they indeed did have that on their playlist.
The video also neglected to mention The Last Hard Men, however, I wasn't really expecting that to be mentioned.

Pixies during their initial run was a magical moment in time, certainly, and their importance can _never_ be understated. But the Breeders - in _every_ configuration - are just a far more interesting and rewarding musical proposition, in my opinion.

I saw them AGAIN two years ago, opening for Weezer on the more recent, shitty album. No fan engagement at all. They just drove through the set then left the stage.

Only police charge i ever got was for attempted murder because i tried to kill a child molester. I was never arrested for drugs i never hit my girl i never cheated. I just used heroin and cocaine alot. When it was time i stopped. Heroin is no different than any other hang up. Im not suggesting people try it. @@jimh8422 It’s true, you never hear about all the functioning-addicts who somehow managed to do it, not without problems, but without ruining their lives for extended periods. I wish I can say I was that. My experiences between 1998-2016, going on it and off it like a yo-yo, set me way back. No arrests though, amazingly, but plenty of other horrid shit I’d just as soon forget. If you can handle it, more power to you. I couldn’t handle it, finally stopped, been playing catch-up ever since. As a musician an artist I’m still haunted by it in my dreams. I don’t know if I’m more susceptible as a musician, but some people believe that, though it hits people in ALL walks-of-life. I’m 46 now so I just can’t abuse myself living the rock n roll-life (in its most cliche’d meaning) anymore. Never thought I’d get here but I’d rather be here than dead-before-my-time or in jail. Too many talented people have been destroyed by it. But like you said, one can just as easily be destroyed by other things, like greed and gluttony for anything, no doubt.

Saw the Pixies in ‘87 at a club on Long Island just before they broke big. Only like 10 people in attendance but they played their hearts out. Fast forward about 20 years to what I guess amounted to a reunion show in a stadium. The tension onstage was palpable. Obvs Black Francis wanted them to adopt a silent, distant demeanor, no intro or chatter between songs, just launched right into it. After a few songs, Kim broke the silence and said, “How’s everyone doing?” Crowd cheered as BF shot death glares at her. I don’t know if it was the infighting, their age, or a venue not suited to them, but they seemed to be phoning it in and it felt like we were seeing a really competent Pixies cover band. But, shit man, the greatest bands seem to result from X factor alchemy, and it’s hard to touch those first couple of Pixies records for raw verve and genius. Lightning in a bottle.
