You need this vacation coming up and you deserve it no matter what happens. So at 7 pm on Monday, no matter what happens, put it out of your mind and just enjoy the time off with your family. You are doing great no matter how it turns out! Every quarter, I set one simple goal and without fail, I end up failing, but not for lack of trying. I wish I could make my writing career my priority. However, I have a now 14 year old non verbal autistic son who is very low functioning. And it is a struggle every day. My husband was finally able to find a job close to home so now we can see him every night at dinner instead of for a week every three months. My point is - if you get up every day and keep moving forward, you are still winning. It might take you a little longer to get over that finish line, but you will get there. And isn't it supposed to be about the journey and not the destination? :D Have a wonderful and much deserved vacation with your family. You have all more than earned it! **Cheering for Team Sarra***

One of my big goals is for decluttering (one of the things I have started and will continue to do in 2021) and I blogged about this back in October: Last night’s therapy session the word Grace came into the conversation. Giving yourself Grace for the past spending, Grace for the ability to let go of sentimental items. Wow, you have really been on a roller coaster ride this month and it’s been nail-biting. If anyone can pull this off, you can! I love HB90, the course was really helpful! I have made a lot of progress this quarter but I’ve also had several of my own unexpected opportunities which are exciting and overwhelming and are taking up extra time I didn’t plan in my quarter. Can’t wait to see how it turns out and set myself up for 2021!

Look back at what you've accomplished in the past 6 of yoru 10 years. There are a lot of us out there that dream of having the success you've amassed. I've been a member of Nano since 2015 and this is the first year I've written for more than a single day. I won on day 21 and I'm still writing! Currently at 85,000 words. You are inspiring. I'm so glad you mentioned that different writing techniques work in different situations, depending on the project and deadlines. I love writing sprints and find them incredibly productive, but, say, when editing, I just need to go. Also, if I'm in a flow w fiction, sprints aren't always as useful as when I'm pounding out a critical paper and need the breaks to check things. Good luck, and happy last day of NaNo!
I’m not sure if this helps but the only way I know to get in the flow with words is to just submerge myself in the story and let the characters take over. Let berthing else go and just live the story. Hope that helps and good luck!

I think the important part is to understand that you could have had this book done like two weeks ago but it would have been worse for it. I have read many even traditionally published books with some things not clicking, twists not working etc. You could have had a worse book ready but you have a BETTER book almost ready. It doesn't matter how far you push your preorder, I don't think you need the readers who can't be understanding in that regard. Like gosh, you know how many times George RR Martin pushed the deadline on his last book? So what? You are not the type of author to push out 12 mindless copies a year just to cash in on that impatience, I wouldn't be following your journey if you were like that. You are a writer who writes good stories, best that you can, and best takes time. Remember the choice you made in the start of this month, would you have changed it? Would you leave it as a severely flawed book just to have it done by now? I don't think so.

I think the important part is to understand that you could have had this book done like two weeks ago but it would have been worse for it. I have read many even traditionally published books with some things not clicking, twists not working etc. You could have had a worse book ready but you have a BETTER book almost ready. It doesn't matter how far you push your preorder, I don't think you need the readers who can't be understanding in that regard. Like gosh, you know how many times George RR Martin pushed the deadline on his last book? So what? You are not the type of author to push out 12 mindless copies a year just to cash in on that impatience, I wouldn't be following your journey if you were like that. You are a writer who writes good stories, best that you can, and best takes time. Remember the choice you made in the start of this month, would you have changed it? Would you leave it as a severely flawed book just to have it done by now? I don't think so.
