You’re my hero. You’ve been an inspiration even in the toughest moments. Thanks for sharing this month candidly with us. Enjoy your vacation-you deserve it so very much.
I'm not a writer but somehow I found your channel. I've been cheering, clapping, and saddened right along with you. You've done an amazing job this month! You have so much going on in your life and you kept going and kept trying. WAY TO GO! You have a viewer for life. I might even buy your books....... LOL! Have a wonderful vacation and a fabulous holiday season! Sending much love!
As a fellow TH-camr, I hope you’re super proud for the doing the daily vlogs! That IS NOT EASY!! Not only did you keep up with that, you launched a course, and wrote a sh*t ton of words!!!! And best yet, learned an amazing and magical lesson. We all got so much from this series. Thank you!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for these daily Nano vlogs, Sarra! I participated in Nanowrimo for the second year, hoping to win and...I lost. I couldn’t write 50k like I had wanted to. Being a writer is tough, and your diary showed us the reality of it. In retrospect, this is one month. The story doesn’t end there. It’s just beginning. I didn’t write 50k, but I did write 30k in 14 days and complete my fanfic. I was upset, cried a bit, but now I can move forward. Thank you again. Take care of yourself!
Thank you. This whole NaNoWriMo vlog series has been a very powerful and intense journey. You said early on one of your best assets is your ability to find the positives when things fall apart, and that power helped you transform this past month. “There is the win, or there is the lesson.” This is such an important idea. When I was teaching, I would use a variation of it when my students needed motivation after a bad grade. Your kids are so lucky to have you as a mom, because you have so much compassion and are able to spark inspiration in others. My mother has similar qualities, and I like to think I’ve been doing okay (imposter syndrome is still a thing, but she’s always there to remind me what reality truly is). I’m actually in STEM but the lessons that you talk about learning this month are universal. You inspire me, and I’m so grateful that you shared your story with all of us here on the internet. So once more, thank you for sharing.
This is way off topic from writing but when you said this year was about transformation I teared up. I’m bipolar and last year that meant having a psychotic episode for the first (hopefully last) time. It gave me nasty ptsd for most of this year, but I can feel myself emerging from that now. I feel stronger for having survived, and I think it was an important transformation in my life. Anyway, thanks for these vlogs and your vulnerability. Hope you have a fabulous vacation and stay safe
Yoi have NO idea how much your blogs have helped me. During NANO, I learned I was pregnant. My husband and I have been freaking out about it, and he’s been very supportive. But I kept writing even through the sickness, the dizziness, and I won! You’ve helped me so very much and I am eternally grateful
You had your dark night and now you've found a way to break into Act 3. Failure teaches us we can manage - and you've done just that. Enjoy your holiday - you definitely earned it.
Sarra you are a hero. Your post is profound and what I needed. So inspirational. Thank you! 80 plus K is amazing. Learning you will have an additional book in your series is good in long run. Have a fun, relaxing memorable vacation.
As someone who has always been drawn to writing and pursued it off and on for years, your channel has encouraged me to make some real and tangible steps to getting some of my work out there. I now have quarterly goals, a schedule and I'm working towards something which I am passionate about, so thank you and best wishes to you and your family.
Sarra, your struggle has definitely been an inspiration for me. I've been working through my fear of failure and my fear of imperfection, and seeing someone doing the thing I want to be doing in a gloriously imperfect manner and still getting up and doing the work, still being successful ... I cannot express how much it helps me. I'm sure it's hard to be vulnerable in such a public setting, but you are helping people. Thank you.
Sarra, your fans should feel honored that instead of meeting the deadline & dishing out a completed ending, you have chosen to halt it! In time they will receive the published story & read it as it ought to be presented and ended!! Your respect for the story line and your embracement of the muse is what has gripped your fans’ attention all this time! Well done 👍 ❗️
My grandmother always told me "It's only a failure if you don't get back up, learn from your mistakes, and keep moving forward." Thank you for all your vlogs this month, they really inspired me to write, especially on days that I wasn't feeling motivated. I'm going through an MFA for English and creative writing and there were some days where I doubted myself, but I started getting up and watching your vlogs every day to inspire myself and show myself that I can do this because of what you were saying and doing. So thank you. I'm looking forward to taking your HB90 course to get even more productive than I am currently, and am excited to work with you on that. Here's to 2021 and may it be better for us all!
Another great message, Sarra! Attitude is everything. You deserve all your success. I got tears in my eyes watching your little family time compilation. Enjoy your holiday. Rest. Rest. Rest.
Oh Sarra. You went and made me cry. This was what I needed to hear today. If your NANO story helped no one else, it helped me. Thank you for being so open with your experience.
I don’t think I would have noticed it if you hadn’t said that, but you’re so right. If the video had been how awesome you did, my own hard moments this month could have been extra discouraging. Showing your own hard moments was such a valuable reminder that everybody struggles sometimes. Thank you again for sharing, love this series!
I started my first book ever, my dream of creating this project during your Nov. Vlog. I've been spinning in circles while my internal editor wouldn't let me move forward. I still am writing it because YOU shared your struggles with ME (us). You don't know how much your vlogs have helped my book and my mental health. I know I am not alone. Thank you, Sarra!
Thank you Sarra! I finished last night just in time for NANOWRIMO. By 11/1 I was prepped using your down loads and only had 2 days marked off, then life happened. I cracked a tooth and it had to be removed. Had a PET scan as well and now in remission! I have now finished 2 first drafts in two months. Writing everyday has been an amazing experience. Now on to reading A. Sokoloff's book. Have a nice vacation!
I got teary from this. You’re right - it’s been a hell of a year. Thank you for sharing your incredible journey with us. I’m so thankful for you and your hopeful, optimistic messages. Enjoy your vacation! You deserve the rest.
Sarra, You have helped me so much the past week. I have worked as a news reporter for 20 years so I understand deadlines but I have been trying to write a book for more than 2 years with people waiting for it. I feel like I have let them down but I have to keep moving forward. In one of your other videos, you talked about not forcing the story and I realized that is the issue. I am trying to write it for others instead of the way the story needs to go. Thank you so very much for all of your great advice and I hope you are having an amazing vacation!!!!
Wow! What an epic epilogue and wrap-up to your NaNo diaries. So emotional, you have brought me to tears! I LOVED your videos, so so much! They have given me so much over the month of November and helped me push through to win NaNoWriMo as a first timer and a newbie to writing in general. I've never written a book or a story, and thanks to you and your amazing resources and videos, I felt confident to give it a try. You are an inspiration, Sarra. I'm in awe of you. Don't let this hurdle define you. You are stronger than this and like you said you're personal story is not finished. This is just one of the tug and pull moments. I loved hanging out with you this month and I will miss your daily videos in December. Have a fantastic holiday. Thank you ❤️
This was my first Nano, and I'm so sad that it's over. I am sorry it was sort of hellish for you, but I have been so glad to have you with me every step of the way. I'm not crying, you're crying.
Oh, Sarra, I needed this pep talk! I've been struggling with the fact that I didn't win nano, but I worked so hard and I'm not giving up!! When you said, "It's only a failure if that's where your story ends..." Yes!!!!!
Hey, Sarra! I just want to thank you for the incredible journey. I found your channel last month and I've been following the nano diaries since. I watched your videos everyday in the morning before I started my writing and this year, for the first time ever, I won nanowrimo, and I have no doubt you played a huge part in it. You're such an inspiration! Enjoy your vacation, have fun with your family. A big hug from Brazil!
This. is. BEAUTIFUL. 😭😭😭 And I thought your last video was amazing! It resonated so hard with me, I ended up writing a blog-post-long comment! lol But I'm serious. I'm getting all the feels because not just this year, but the past several years have been a struggle for me. Seeing you go through basically the same thing I've been through is beyond validating. Seeing you have your epiphany makes the one I had shine that much brighter. Because if a successful, "six-figure" (as you put it) published author can have these same struggles and come out on the other end with a greater appreciation for her characters and her story, then my decision to stop pressuring myself to become a "professional" author and just write because I love it was the right one. I was already feeling it before, but now I'm feeling it even stronger. Thank you so much for being real and sharing your journey with us all. I think every writer and even every reader, every PERSON needs to hear this message. I know I sure needed it, so again, thank you. Blessed Be. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Completely understand you Sarra, I ended October super motivated even if my husband was sick, but when I got Covid on the 11th everything went down hill and my plans got trashed. But I started December thinking that I will use it as my 2021 prep month lol. I am organizing, declutering and cleaning all over the house and my goal is to have a living space that doesn't look cluttered and overwhelming so that I can ginally start my yt channel and have more time to write and craft instead of being cleaning all the time♡ I will also make myself a Kanban board to keep my goals in view and stop waisting my time instead of being productive. So lets prepare to conquer 2021 with positivity♡ Have fun on vacation
I started watching you because of this year's nano diaries. I had NO idea you were a fully fletched published author... My mistake but I just thought you were a booktuber and that was it.. I have loved your way of going and talking about progress, hardships and failure and seeing that you are a published author just makes it even more inspiring
Big hugs, Love you girl. 2021 is going to be my year, and you opened my eyes to it. And with all of us on your side, and having your back, 2021 is going to be your year too! We are all winners, every one of us! Have a wonderful vacation!
(As said perfectly by Lady Gaga) Amazing. Inspiring. Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it. I will forever be a fan!! I'm insanely proud of you and this message had me in tears for you, for me, and for everyone who is on this journey together. I'm signed up for the HB90 course because you're not perfect and neither am I. I don't want to learn from someone who doesn't struggle, who doesn't get understand, who is unrelatable.
Thank you Sara for so openly sharing your journey. I followed you the whole way cheering you on and your tenacity, vulnerability and determination has inspired me! I am looking forward to taking your course on Sunday ❤️🙌🏾 - Thank you for your words of inspiration.
Thank you for making this series, but more so for continuing after things didn't go as planned. I struggle after losing my Nana last year. I can edit shorter stories, but writing new or edit any of my finished drafts is impossible. I keep seeing writers that just somehow get everything done, and slowly I stop following because it makes me feel worse. Your channel is different because you make it OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY, but you inspire to still keep going. I like that
I have goosebumps! This is so motivational my!! I’ve been a silent fan for a long time but now I have to show how much I appreciate everything you’re doing. ❤️
Thank you for sharing this journey with us. It came at a time when I needed to hear all of it, so much, and you’ve helped me feel better about some disappointments with my own creative career. Your work is important and matters to so many other people. Enjoy your time off with your family ❤️
Thank you so much for making the vulnerable decision of sharing your personal journey. Truly inspirational, amazing and heart warming to see such a loving family pulling together in the same direction with support and empathy. You've opened up a passion in me for wanting to be an author not just a struggling writer now out of crisis. You're amazing !! Thank you
I couldn’t wait to see your post today. I needed to see that you were alright. Nanowrimo was a challenge for you this time, but you showed us how to persevere and not give up. I’m not a writer but I do have a small business that I’m forging ahead to make successful. Thanks for your raw front seat view of your challenges in your craft. It’s extremely encouraging for all of us to keep pushing and mostly to relieve the pressure we put on ourselves. We love you for your honesty and transparency. Your purpose was successful because your journey helped all of us. I wish you the very best in 2021. Can’t wait to see all the great things you will produce with that beautiful mind of yours. Rest assured we are all proud of you. Sarra Cannon YOU ROCK!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this journey! I hope your readers see how hard you worked to bring them the best story possible and truly honored their time with your own hard work! As always, take care of yourself. ❤️❤️
Sarra, this video made me teary. Thank you for this entire month. Thank you for sharing your life with us this month. I am so inspired and ready to do the damn thing. This year has been tough, but I've learned so much from it. I can't wait to kick 2021's butt.
I will really miss these vlogs, seeing your life like this was so insperational for me. I hope, even if you don't vlog as much as during nanowrimo, that you can do these types of videos once or twice a month ♡ Have a lovely vacation Sarra and great working this past month 😊
What a beautiful, inspiring epilogue! And what an amazing, moving journey you boldly shared with us. Thank you so much. Here's to being the heroes of our own stories. Onward!!
Have fun at disney with your family, like you said, it's not a failure until you give up. I want you to know something, I enrolled in HB90 one of the first times you put it up, not the first but shortly after. It didn't take, had trouble wrapping my mind around it. So I tried again and made out all the sticky notes and used the pages. still didn't get much done. So, I did Nanowrimo this year as a way of starting a habit of writing 2000 words per day and halfway through, I could see the things that needed done for this series. So, I got out my pages and used my EC planner for the tasks, instead of the board or the HB90 pages and left the planner open on my desk. I have gotten a huge amount of things done on my list that I've known needed done for years. That is why I am not published yet. I've been seriously writing since 1993 but without your help, I wouldn't be close to publising this series of books. Thanks for your videos, thanks for free access after the first time I paid and thanks for being you and available for us. I feel like my success so far is due to watching you and listening to you. Thanks so very, very much.
Thank you for your words and that you made us part of your journey, of all the ups and downs. Thanks for the sacrifices you make to give us the best books possible and I am so proud of being your fan. This book will be amazing and I can't wait for January to come around. Love from Germany!
Thank you for sharing this journey and being transparent. I enjoy seeing authors going through their writing process and giving people a look into the intricacies of it. I only wish that more authors would show their writing process on this level. If you're able to, please do more of these - I would love to follow your 'behind-the-scenes' writing journey. : )
Thanks for sharing. I wanted to carry on, because you did. You are, in part, responsible for my 90K. Cheers to you & enjoy your trip. Same time next year?
@@HeartBreathings You're such a doll! I'm now looking even more forward to next year's NaNoWriMo. Let me quote my favourite Doctor's: "You're billiant!" and "Allons-y!"
I just sent out a newsletter where I was explaining some things along these very same lines you're talking about and how's it's affected me! Thank you so much for the words!! :)
Thank you for sharing the journey and I think perhaps... we need to show more often... when things don't go as planned and how we still work through it and move forward. I think "failures" are so devastating at times because we have been conditioned to think it's a rarity and not normal and such a horrible thing... because people tend to share successes only!
Thank you so much!! You don´t know how much it means to me, to see that even you, how wrote and published so many books, can´t control her outcome and the creativity flow. It´s hard to let go but I think you made the right decision. And not just as writer myself but also saying this as a reader. I don´t have as much time for reading as I would like to. So thank you for always giving your best and never accept ´okay´. (And not wasting my precious reading time with second best books! I hope you know what I mean, but I guess we have all read books before, where we had the feeling after closing the last page, that the ending was more about getting gone, then giving a worthy ending to the story.) Have a wonderful holiday and I cant wait to see you soon!
Thanks so much for sharing this entire journey with us Sarra! It's been tough but it's also been so honest and I really appreciate seeing those difficult moments, it puts everything into perspective for fellow writers!
Thank you for sharing so much with us, you have definitely taught me a lot about what it takes to be a writer. You are an inspiration. Thank you Thank you Thank you ❤️
Congrats on getting thru what you did and that was an amazing pep talk, I'll keep watching your videos and can't wait to see what you have for next year 🤗
Thank you so so much for hanging out with me every day this month!! I appreciate your support, and I hope you felt mine all along the way!!
After a disastrous year and a badly failed NaNo, this is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Keep it up my lady , you are a Queen 👑
"It's always darkest before the dawn." Get ready, Sarra, here comes the dawn! It's really bright.
This made me cry a little bit. Thanks for your encouragement. Enjoy the heck out of your vacation.
Aww thank you so much Kara!

I didn't quit because you didn't. Thanks for that!
I watched most of these videos in November and I’m proud to say I “won” NaNo for the first time ever. Thanks for sharing so much with us!
Thank you so much for the NaNoWrimo Diaries, Sarra! You're our inspiration and our Hero, and we love you! Enjoy your vacation, you so deserve it. XO
I just want to say thank you! Thanks for being a bright star in 2020.
There are no words but that I’m crying and I may not be able to stop. I found your channel at the right moment in my life.

This is why I watch you. You owned it and got back up to fight another day. I RESPECT THAT!
We love you too, Sarra! You are amazing! Have a magical vacation with your beautiful family.
"Don't be afraid to fail." - Arnold Scwarzenegger
I hope, even if you don't vlog as much as during nanowrimo, that you can do these types of videos once or twice a month ♡
Have a lovely vacation Sarra and great working this past month 😊
Amazing!! Congratulations! And yes let's do it!!
@@HeartBreathings You're such a doll! I'm now looking even more forward to next year's NaNoWriMo. Let me quote my favourite Doctor's: "You're billiant!" and "Allons-y!"
Looking at the smiling faces of your support team, you are definitely a winner!
I've looked forward to your vlogs each day of November! Thanks for being such an inspiration. You did amazing!!!
You went on a hero’s journey this month! Wishing you and your fam a joyful vacation.
Exactly! Perfect Epilogue. 😍🥂🎉
This is so heartwarming, Sarra. I love seeing your sweet family at the end too. ❤️
I just sent out a newsletter where I was explaining some things along these very same lines you're talking about and how's it's affected me! Thank you so much for the words!! :)
These diaries have been so inspiring for me. Thank you for sharing both the hard and wonderful things of being a writer❤️
Thank you for sharing the journey and I think perhaps... we need to show more often... when things don't go as planned and how we still work through it and move forward. I think "failures" are so devastating at times because we have been conditioned to think it's a rarity and not normal and such a horrible thing... because people tend to share successes only!
Those pink minnie mouse ears on that blue skull is hilarious! Sarra, you always make me cry - in a good way. Thank you for being you! All the hugs.
Thank you for your insights! What a lovely family...your baby looks just like you!💕
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Just Simply Amazing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
💜💜💜Have a wonderful time in Disney, Sarra, George, Andrew, and Evie💜💜💜
I really needed to hear this message today. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. 😊
