ST. TERESA OF LISIEUX: “I cannot bring myself to hunt through books for beautiful prayers. There are so many of them that I get a headache. Besides, each prayer seems lovelier than the next. I cannot possibly say them all and do not know which to choose. I behave like a child who cannot read: I tell God what I want and He always understands. For me, prayer is an upward leap of the heart, an untroubled glance towards heaven, a cry of gratitude and love which I utter from the depths of sorrow as well as from the heights of joy...”
Lord, I pray to you not to take away my pains and sorrows but to give me strength to hold firm my trust in you and to accept the Cross you have given to carry in my life. Amen.
1. Take time to pray. 2. Find your center in you through prayer. 3. Speak to God with honesty. 4. Listen attentively. 5. Sit in silence. I live Bishop Barron. May God bless you all. 🙏🙏🙏❤️
The pilgrim's prayer from the heart. Said often, our voices needn't vocalize; our hearts begin to say it continuously. Thank you for your post here. It reminded me!
I often just chat with God … in my car, in waiting rooms, in Chapel before Mass especially and before confessions. Sometimes as I’m in the supermarket while I’m shopping, you can talk to Good anywhere, anytime and know he hears you. 🙏🙏🙏
ST. TERESA OF AVILA: “Don’t think that if you had a great deal of time you would spend more of it in prayer. Get rid of that idea! God gives more in a moment than in a long period of time, for His actions are not measured by time at all. Know that even when you are in the kitchen, our Lord is moving among the pots and pans!”

Good morning Bishop Barron, and greetings from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 I’d like to offer you my heartfelt thanks, and deep appreciation for your teachings in this dark world, where the truth is being constantly attacked, and when good priests are being cancelled for speaking the truth. As your beloved saint St. Thomas More said on the scaffold. “I die the King’s good servant, but I die God’s first’ Please remember your little lambs must be fed. May beautiful Jesus, and his most holy Mother, continue to bless you. ✝️
It’s the perfect environment especially when I’m alone. I search out Catholic radio, pray the rosary, listen to Holy music as I drive to visit my family.
When I was in kindergarten, the nuns defined praying as "talking to God with love" for the kids to understand what praying is. The definition was etched in my until in my senior years now.
Awesome advice!! I need to learn the Jesus prayer too. I've got a quick prayer for first thing when i wake up: Lord, thank you for giving me another day to do Your will and follow Your plan for my life.
Thank you so much for your wise words. God bless you! Thank you Lord for technology which allows such beautiful words to reach the whole world! Thank you from Brazil!
I am terrible at conversational prayer. I talk too much. Lol. It often breaks down into wandering thoughts. I do use the Jesus prayer all the time. Bishop Barron said it perfect. It draws me back into silence and centers me. Among other things, it has had a profound effect on my patience with other people and general worry. Slower to anxiety and anger.
St. John of the Cross says that it changes after an hour. You'll probably find yourself sitting in silence looking at God after exhausting all your thoughts
He is the source of love and the creator and I devote my life to Him so prayer is speaking w God. Having prayer lists helpful He knows everyone in our heart. Keep them, protect them and bless them Father God in Jesus name Amen
We must pray …God wants us to pray, because He wants us to acknowledge Him as the Father and He wants Him to ask us for what we want. And how we feel He is compassionate.🙏🇦🇺
The rosary is a perfect prayer! As a cradle catholic I was taught prayer like having a conversation with God. The conventional prayers were so repetitive that it seems to have lost its essence. But as I grew older I’ve come to marvel the simplicity in its structure yet it captures the wholeness of what our human existence. Use your imagination, emotions and true intentions as you pray.
Mattew 6:5 'And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward.'

People typically pray when they want something and are disappointed if they don't get what they pray for. God gives us what we need not necessarily what we want. It's important to believe that God answers our prayers. One can't pray and then not believe that your prayers will be answered James 1:5-7
I talk to him all day long like a friend just like you say. He told me that if I want to pray for someone else, I just need to think about them for a moment, and he does the rest. Pretty cool huh? I used to just get up and start talking to him out loud all day long just like you said. It's quite real. There is a pay off. People think it's crazy. My mom taught me to do that. My Father said he's been talking to me since I was 16 because I would talk out loud just like my Mom would do. It's all very real. The words of Christ are worth more than gold imho. Thank you so much!

True
‘Pray as you can, not as you can’t,’ was, for me, completely releasing.
"No prayer is ever lost"
- St John Vianney (Patron saint of Parish Priests).
It is when you pray to yourself as this commie said
Thanks Bishop Baron, you are a light for us in this dark materialistic world, may God bless you always and protect you in your ministry.
