The target also doesn't typically fall down straight away or make overly dramatic movements, giving Arno time to walk away like nothing happened. Its easy to believe he'd be able to slip away after, especially in a crowd.
What about AC3? Hythen would just continue to walk after quickly stabbing the target unlike the others that stay for a longer duration while still stabbing the target
The upwards stab from the neck frontal assassination is so sick. It's a shame we only get to see it if we use the teleportatiom ability in Mirage. Oddly enough, I think the Kenway saga had the best balance of frontal and rear assassinations.

Pretty cold take, actually. I think a lot of people agree that the Unity/Syndicate animations are what an assassin *should* look like when using the hidden blade.

3-Rogue did it the best. The way you could keep moving during the assassination was awesome. Also i loved the "nonchalant" double kill when between two guards. Just walking between them as you stab them like youre taking a walk in ths park is hilarious and badass
I always loved the detail of the victim not falling right away and standing a few seconds after the kill , it really looked realistic and it mechanically did give time to hide in Unity as far as I remember.
I love how Ezio gently lsys down those he kills with the blades, fits with his whole, I don't kill you because I hate too, but because I have to after he learned not to be an impulse teenager Most the others drop dead enemies like you would an empty Snickers wrapper after a pub crawl
Love the immense respect shown to victims by Altaïr and Ezio. I like how it gives a feeling of a grim duty, which is a nuance assassins creed has lost quite a bit
I discovered this in AC3 that there was so many different animations for stealth hiddenblades kills that were of course bases on high or low profile but as well as depending on the kind of movement the player did during the animation. My favorite was the sprinting animations connor did where he stabbed ppl so hard in the mid section that he picked them up at the same time slammed them back down on the ground. That and the sprinting animation where you jumped on the oppenent similar to the animation of a drop from a ledge kill. But depending in whther you kept moving during the animations, a different animation played. If you didnt move then there was more to see, connor recovering from the tackle stab and balancing himself and slowly pulling out the blade was a common extension of these animation
You missed the running one from Odyssey which his by far the best imo. Chucking it close range into them like a javelin while running and pulling it out without stopping in one clean motion was so smooth
I think Mirage has good and bad kill animations. A lot of them are super janky obviously but at the same time the running assassinations in this game are some of the most satisfying in the series imo
In all fairness origins is the start of the creed so I imagine they developed more refined, more efficient killing methods as the brotherhood grows older
I love that starting with AC 3 or 4, the low-profile murders are no longer so "flashy" and have that animation synchronization where you can walk towards your target, stab them and keep walking and the world doesn't even notice, until you are already far away. That's how it should be. Not that with altair and ezio. They still have the luxury of hugging them for a while or kneeling them.
That’s one thing I hated about the Ezio games, can’t tell you how many times I accidentally assassinated a civilian because they were standing too close to a guard 😅
I'm not normally a "muh new games suck" kind of a guy but this criticism is valid. That is one thing I hated about Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla. In Unity/Syndicate I could low profile assassinate someone in .1 seconds and already be walking well away before the victim was even discovered to be dying, to say nothing of it being performed in a crowded urban area. In the new games it took a good 2-3 seconds to assassinate someone and unless it was in total isolation you were discovered immediately even if it was in the god damn forest.
In rpg games and Mirage you can only do chain assassination for multiple kill but in Origins you can do the special ability trick where you kill one enemy, do the chain on another, use the blue special ability and do another chain one. In Mirage there's the assassin focus which i don't use much and in ac Odyssey and Valhalla there are special abilities which can allow you to kill multiple enemies at once
I don't know which AC it is at 3:01 but I like the low profile most. Just quick and smooth movements. Some of them swing the blade like a sledgehammer.
I just want to be able to drop an enemy without breaking stride, drawing unnecessary attention, or entering a mortal kombat sequence. Who decided we cant do that anymore??
Ubi's really forgotten the spirit of these games, GRACE and ELEGANCE these are the combat attributes of an assassin, hucking people around like bags of potato's just defys the nature of a stealth assasination
I remember when Assassin's Creed combat was like smooth and they actually use other NPC's for unique take downs but now its level based and those unique take downs are only on targeted enemies
I think Arno's way of assassinating looks so very efficient and stylish too. He always moves forward and moves on to the next target. Quite fast paced game too
It has more than shown here + the ability to hold down the assasination button for a cool animation where Eivor carries the body right after an assasination
One of my favourites is an Assassination from the front in Low Profile with Aveline, where she does like 5 stabs to the chest in quick succession with both hands and then backsteps into her fighting stance as the target falls dead.
Unity/Syndicate had the best double assassinations because of the creativity of the animations where you are only limited by a single hidden blade compared to previous generations where they had two blades
I miss the sound effect from AC1 that played whenever you assassinated someone. High or Low Profile, it felt like a big deal, playing into that 'blade in a crowd' mentality.

My issue with the double assignations in the later AC games is it ends with a walking or running animation, and so if you just plan to double assassinate two people and stand there all cool, it looks jarring seeing your character running at the end of the animation only to come to a standstill because you're not holding forward. Also in the ACs with Altair and Ezio, I would always try to assassinate the Templars with a high profile standing animation so they would be lowered to the ground in respect and then letting the conversation between them and Altair/Ezio play out.
Noticed it while playing ac games myself. I much prefer the stealthy "stab in the back and walk past like you're not involved" animations like in 2:39, but they've been gone for a long time now. Mirage's look pretty good, but mirage is mirage.
Unity ones are really cool and sometimes good for hiding bodies though somethines over the top with unnecessary stabs with style, at least with 3 to rogue its efficient when sneaking while brutal in combat
I love mirage but i really dont like how slow some of the assassinations are. Its more rare than it should be to get some actually inconspicuous frontal assasinations. My least favorite one is when he stabs someone in the chest and then throws them over his shoulder its completely unnecessary and takes way too long, not to mention enemies can deal you damage mid animation when youre completely defenseless so they always get one or two free hits in if you get that animation when taking someone out in a group.
I had enough of this 'true fans'. I'm a small fan who enjoyed Black Flag, Valhalla, Syndicate. For me these are the peak games in its class even though they had their negatives. Never played the Ezio Trilogy, but from what I heard, Ezio's character development sounds cool. I still played revelation and I absolutely hated the combat, but it was one of the first AC games I played and I played it around 2020. I should reconsider Revelation. Yeah I'm a young fan, and my opinion costs less than you people, and if you think the modern AC games are that bad, then maybe you should move on. When was the last time they made a game these core fans enjoyed. It still has the old name but it changed a lot. So move on core fans. And also I'm not in a position to say any opinion about Mirage, cause I never played it, and doesn't have a lot of clues. I just don't like the super powers and kind of hate it but still think it is a good game overall and yeah, the cinematics sucks. Also Skull and Bones is a big NO. That's me the 19 year old who played his first AC game when he was 15.
Not that the new AC games are bad, it's just that a Hack and Slash combat system just doesn't fit well in Assassin's Creed(Origins's combat was pretty good though)... IMO combat peaked in AC 3 and Unity... Idk why they went back from that Hidden Blade Assassinations and Stealth were so much better in older games.. Because we had dual hidden blades and proper animations back then.. Revelations had a simple combat system, easy to master,go on creating kill-chains,satisfying death animations.... Idk why you would dislike that, guess you haven't played Brotherhood because Ubisoft kinda just assumed that the players played older games so they didn't give much of a proper tutorial in Revelations
@@IknowthatIamright..... I never played AC2 or Brotherhood, And I'm planning to give them a chance. I do like stealth but I enjoyed the naval combat in Black Flag, Jacob Frye was a great character for me and the weapons and loot gathering and upgrading were really good in Valhalla. Yeah, it doesn't make sense when we say AC Valhalla, Odessy and Classic AC games happen in the same universe. I really enjoyed the open RPG style, I did enjoy Syndicate but Valhalla was a significant jump for me. And yeah, the Hack and slash doesn't fit in the AC games, but remember, these modern games were the early times of the Creed and the hidden one. In Valhalla and Odyssey, Eivor and Kassandra don't care a lot about these hidden ones. Eivor says, he doesn't trust the hidden ones and he only likes their tools, and stabbing from the back is not something the Vikings are proud of. And Kassandra also tells she doesn't give a lot about hidden ones, she says she has friends in the hidden ones and she has similar tasks to hidden ones and she is not one of them. And there is no hidden blade in Odessy(correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have a lot of experience with Odessy) but still you can see Kassandra with a hidden blade in Valhalla because Valhalla is more recent compared to Odyssey. If something I said is wrong, you can inform me, I'm not someone who knows everything about AC games.
Before you say anything about the core fans, please actually just play the older games instead of talking out of your butt. You’ll actually realize the charm that those games had. The ones you should play are anything pre 2018, including Origins and the Ezio Trilogy
@@JFVideos960 I did play Revelation, AC3, Black Flag, Rogue(little bit), Unity, Syndicate. I didn't enjoy Revelation, but as I said I wouldn't complain, it was one of the first AC games I played before getting the hang of it and I also didn't play brotherhood and AC 2. And I did enjoy all other games.
There is a progress when it comes to assassinations where Altiar (I mostly blame this for cinematic) its a bit flashy, but when you get to AC 2, B,R, then 3, even to 4, the low profile assassinations are not very flashy, its very subtle. I can't say much of syndicate as I never played it, and despite owning it due to memorial of nodredame, Syndicate, I felt like the assassinations were forgettable, I can't remember any, Origins, don't remember any. Odyssey, fucking brutal but it has the issue of relying on the assassin state which feels iffy already.
I think Unity/Syndicate animations are where you see a downturn for AC series. He kick guy in the shin he does trible back flip and stabs him in the heart like Dexter it looks ridiculous. Or he throws him like sack of potatoes and he does nothing I wish there was a struggle or something maybe point a gun and then stab like surprise attack that would at least make it somewhat believable.
The way I remedy this is to focus on the fact that these latest entries are prequels before AC1, so obviously they’re not as advance as the post AC1 timeline.
That's the biggest cope I've seen concerning this issue. Using the "lore" to justify the regression of gameplay mechanics is not coherent. By your standard ledge assassination, bush assassination, bench assassination (all present in Mirage...) should not be possible in any of the RPG games because Altair didn't invent it yet... The gameplay is being simplified to cather to a larger audience to make more money. That's it.

Idk why they went back from that
Hidden Blade Assassinations and Stealth were so much better in older games..
@@DrDuck005 Hmm
I didn´t know there where different animations for the hidden blades when holding R1 in the first games.
i think this really shows how much of a tragedy unity ending up the way it did was
bro made the ultimate glitch compilation 💀
I really like the spear assassinations, I don't think those count as evolving backwards since Eagle Bearer doesn't wear a hidden blade
1:48 dead NPC flying
The peak is Unity and Syndicate for me. Everything after is just not assassination anymore but more like sneak/suprise attack
There's another high profile animation in AC4 and Rogue if the guards's postion are diagonal to yours.
Ac2 back H-P assassination was peak animation
Nah they’re just more practical now. Less stylish.
*honesty has left the chat*
I have never seen Edward do a double stab like that
Is it me or did the hidden blade got shorter after revelations?
It shows how bad Mirage was if I thought that first one was in it
Altair and Ezio: Professionals have standards.
Damn I haven't played it yet, but is Odyssey even an assassin game?
I think Unity/Syndicate animations are where you see a downturn for AC series. He kick guy in the shin he does trible back flip and stabs him in the heart like Dexter it looks ridiculous. Or he throws him like sack of potatoes and he does nothing I wish there was a struggle or something maybe point a gun and then stab like surprise attack that would at least make it somewhat believable.
Unity and Syndicate animations were peak it’s been downhill since then
Odyssey was probably the most brutal assasination out of all but the best one is Uniyty
Unity/syndicate has many more kill animations for each profile
Revelations will always have the best assassination/combat/movement system of any AC.
Never saw high profile assassinations. How do you do them?
Hold down the right trigger while pressing the assassination button
Eivor animations are great the best from all the rpg saga. But the best animations of all AC saga will forever be Arno animations.
Dont forget to farm some crocodiles to lvlup and upgrade your blade or it will only tickle them
0:23 kickflip!
That's it.
Their is no excuse or logic behind Valhalla’s hidden blade. It’s not even hidden.
Ac Syndicate is my favourite one in terms of stealth
