A unique cafe that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to the 1940s. What I bought today was something a little different and unique. Enjoy traditional British cakes with walnut cake and coffee.

Coffee & Walnut Cake (1 set of Victoria sandwich molds with a diameter of 15 cm)
・Instant coffee…1 tablespoon
・Boiling water --- 1 tablespoon
・Walnuts --- 30g
・Unsalted butter---150g *Please remove from the refrigerator about 1 hour before use.
・Cane sugar --- 120g
・Eggs (medium)…2 pieces
-Wildflowers---150g
butter cream
・Unsalted butter---120g *Please remove from the refrigerator about 1 hour before use.
・Powdered sugar --- 80g
・Vanilla paste…1/4 teaspoon
・Instant coffee…1 tablespoon
・Boiling water --- 1 tablespoon
・Walnuts…6 pieces (for decoration)
*Before baking, preheat the oven to 180℃/160℃ with fan/gas mark 4.
1. Pour instant coffee into a small glass, add hot water and mix well. Finely chop the walnuts.
2. Place the butter in a bowl and use an electric whisk to soften it. Add the light brown sugar and mix until pale and fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time and mix until evenly mixed. Sift in the self-raising flour and mix with a rubber spatula. Add chopped walnuts and mix.
4. Divide the dough into two equal parts, fill the mold, and smooth the surface. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on top.
5. Let it cool for about 15 minutes, then turn it over and remove it from the mold. Cool completely.

6. Pour instant coffee into a small glass, add boiling water and mix well. Place the butter in a bowl and soften with an electric whisk. Add the powdered sugar in two batches and mix until it becomes whitish. Add the melted coffee and vanilla paste and mix.
7. Use a knife to thinly slice the bottom (both sides) of the cake. Turn the cut side up and spread about half of the cream on it. Place another layer on top and press lightly with the cut side facing down. Spread cream on top and decorate with walnuts to complete. Please share.

Mizue, I’m traveling in a couple of hours and managed to take a look at your sweet video before I go… again so fun indeed. My mother had the same sewing machine, I remember the box when I saw it those machines are beautiful and antique. The box is gorgeous it looks like ours! I also have the same clock too! The sewing machine is magical. The way it looks and the sewing action by turning the handle. Some things can't be measured just by cost. Wonderful purchase.

まずはアンティークを見る前にカフェ！1940年代頃のその時代を再現した、なかなかユニークなカフェでしたね。
ブレックファーストのサンドイッチが凄いボリュームでしたね（笑）
今回は食器ではなくシンガーミシンを買われたのですね！黒とゴールドの色合いが素敵ですね！またちゃんと使えて良かったですね👏👏

を見事蘇らせて綺麗になりましたね！器用なんですね！
またみずえさんのお手製のコーヒーオールナッツケーキがとっても美味しそうで、食べたくなりました😋

★妳好！素敵なカフェですね！濃いめのピンクの壁紙。今は白に近いので今度張り替えはこれですね。アメリカのとはまた違い落ち着いてます。トレイも私は粗大ゴミで拾った20年前のレトロな木製トレイが5枚ほどあり、ペンキ塗装しなきゃダメ状態ですので好きな様に塗ってますが分解修理してすごい！魚のワインボトルも持っています。ミシン使えたんですね。良かったです。実家にシンガーの足踏み、たぶん処分されたです。ミシン屋さんのショーウインドーに横10ｃｍくらいのこういうミニチュアが飾ってありとても可愛かったです。お菓子は食べる、動画見るのは好きですが作れません。とっても可愛くて美味しそうなのでいつも感心してます。焦げ茶色のお皿もいいですね。いつもありがとうございます。これからもよろしくお願いいたします。🍑
夜来香さん コメントありがとうございます。あの濃いピンクはこの地方の色なのだそうで、同じような色の壁の家を時々見かけます。いろいろ勿体無いこと、ゴミで出してしまった反省は私も沢山あります。なるべく無駄なものは買わず過ごすことが出来ればいいな、と思っているところです。

こんばんは、みずえさん🙂今週は青空のドライブから始まりましたね。お店につくと１９４０’にタイムスリップしたかのようなカフェ。イギリスの当時ってこんなふうだったのかなあと思いがめぐります、なんとなく逞しさを感じました。アンティークショップのほうは、なつかしいような音のする時計やパピエマシェのこぶりのテーブルでしょうか（７：１５あたりで気づきました。ロイヤルウースターのトリオの乗っているテーブルです。）、そしてシンガーミシン！などなど家具や調度品に目がいっていました。楽しいひとときをありがとうございました。みずえさんご夫婦の購入されたトレイは手をかけられて綺麗になりましたね！特に真鍮の部分、素敵です✨✨シンガーミシンは、なんと説明書を見ながら使えるなんて素晴らしい✨✨カタカタという音、ゆっくり時間が紡ぎだされるようですね😌💕私もこんなミシンが欲しいなと思いました。今回はインスタントコーヒーにくるみを使ったケーキ。香ばしそうですね。私も作ってみようと思いました。では、また来週も楽しみにしております。寒さに気を付けてお過ごし下さい🍂🍂
Makikoさん ほんとうに！タイムスリップとはこういう感じなのか、と思いましたし、戦中でも何かしら楽しみを見つけて平和を感じながら生活していたんだな、と想像していました。
いつか手を出そう、と思っていた縫い物ですが、こんなミシンを手に入れたからには早速始めないと、、、ですね。時間を作ってミシン始めます。💞
