I definitely need to try that hybrid clay I have super fine hair and it's a pain in the butt doing certain styles especially if I don't stay on top of getting regular trim-ups to keep the length just right because you hit the nail on the head about too much length being bad for thin hair it just pulls it right down when I do my side part

I have quite fine / thinner hair, but funny enough, I find the Cavalier Clay to work much better with my hair than something such as Arcadian. Was the same situation before with Claymation...worked great with my hair for some reason, and did not weigh it down.
That is the one thing I took time to realize. No hair dryer.no.oily hair or hair powder. since I'm mixed I'm Just able to go from slick or curly. And wet or dry(but wet needs some strength to go backwards. Alway thought it was better to have it straight just to find out I have all styles possible without all the morning prep. And I prefer to share my benefits. No need for heavy gel but a tiny bit allows the curls to be touched without messing up. Peace J blue

Blow drying isn't used to put an entire strand of hair into place, its to harden the hair follicle into a desired position for your hairstyle. Basically that means a blow dryer is used to angle your hair, not straighten it. If your hair is too dry, than that means you are shampooing to often. If you have to shampoo often because you have dandruff, their are specific products on the market for that. One of which is presented by Alpha M, search his name, with dandruff.
Synergy You also may want to consider using a hair straightener. Just be sure to spray on some heat protectant before every use, other wise your hair will become even more dry and brittle.
My hair is exactly like that you not alone son, even though you may start looking like a frat guy I recommend a visor. Hairstyle can curl up and get messy but still looks fine in the visor

Neither do I shampoo too often, I learned this almost a year ago and I shampoo only 3-4 times a week, I always use conditioner after too. I guess it's just genes, my hair is naturally dry just like my mum's and dad's hair. It's just naturally poofy and dry, I wish I could have silky soft straight hair but I don't. I like my fine hair, I always use to keep it long so I could style it better but that did not work at all (thanks to this guy explaining to me), so now I'll keep it short and trying styling it with my light gel. I always used to pick the extreme hold gel hoping it would keep my hair in place but it don't work (as explained in the video). uhhh you're definitely losing hair buddy. Everyone loses at least 100 hairs a day but it shouldn't come out just by applying product
