Yeah, that's exactly what I thought as well. Especially generations who grew up with a cellphone in their pocket to check the time instead of a watch. Watches are a bit uncomfortable if you're not used to it.
This is great! subscriptions for gadgets are a no-go for me. Big reason why I picked Garmin over fitbit. It's why I use affinity over Photoshop. Why do we have to keep paying for things forever? Good video! I've been looking at the Ultrahuman Ring Air too-it offers more colors and sizes than the Samsung Galaxy Ring. How do they compare? Will you be doing a comparison?
These rings actually cost less than 50 usd but sells for 3x + (150 usd +) So if you also want to start your own white label smart ring business with own app let me know. My company provides white label apps for these rings and helps in launching your own smart devices brand.
I can't think of a genuine useful use presonally. But then again, even if it did nothing at all, it's still significantly better long term value than a wedding ring.
I am not sure why everyone wants NFC payments so badly so that doesn't bother me. I would rather it be smallee and discreet and not have that feature if it makes it any bigger.
Im curious on what health data I will be missing out on if I only get the watch ultra and not the ring. I can't quite find any comparisons this early on.
A few reviews say that all they do together is produce more accurate data. The only feature the ring and watch is missing is Sleep Apnoea testing on the ultra watch by my research
@noahfii thanks, and then you have the inconvenience that the watch needs to be charged once every day, preferably at night so might have a period missing out on data. But then I do office work so could charge it during a meeting or something.
what a joke samsung and pixel is giving air gesture from a long time... pixel had this in pixel 4 and samsung had this with stylus. this is not a new thing...
I am very disappointed by the high price that does not justify how a small 3g one piece of tech ! Can be more expensive than a smartwatch with a screen and more hardware!
@alsayedfakhri4597 it's a health tracking oriented genius. If you wanna track your workout, use your smart watch. Nobody is stupid to lift weight with a ring on their fingers unless you're that person lol, smart ring or non smart ring. 😉
@@GoodGuyGoneGreat I can't wait to buy this activity tracking device which I'll have to take off before exercising! I agree, a smart watch or band seems much more intuitive.
Some people don’t like watches. I’ve used Apple Watch, garmin watch oura and now have a Ultrahuman ring I’ve been trying out and I can say I love the UH ring. I loved the oura gen 2 before it had a subscription. Apple sleep tracking is based on your alarm schedule so it tracks time in bed and sleep based on that it doesn’t just track based on activity so it can say 7 hours of sleep when you know u slept much less. Apple recently now will ask if your awake on the watch if you wake up before your alarm which helps with accuracy Garmin is similar but it has morning report and when u look though that in the morning or if you been moving around a lot it will know your awake based on that. For working out garmin or apple may be better but for sleep the rings tend to do that better. The app interface is super nice on the ultra human whereas on the apple I have to fumble through sections of a watch to see how I sleep data wise but in the ring it’s on one slide and there’s like 9 metrics. Garmin is similar where most of it’s in one spot but still some is in others. OURA and Ultrahuman have it all in one area. Ultrahuman’s to me is better no subscription, 30 dollars they have a damage, list or stolen insurance for a year, and their interface is the best I’ve seen. Their workout data matched my garmin pretty well also but you need the phone for GPS if it’s a run or walk you want tracked on a map. Also the phone is only way to manually trigger a workout on rings.

NFC for payments would have been the winner
To be honest, NFC was the only thing I WANTED to see. Unfortunately, if it doesn't have it, I'll probably save my money.
Hold up, I thought NFC on the Galaxy Ring was a sure thing.
If it's not, that's very disappointing.

Truly the one ring to rule them all
Those who don't understand the point of the ring are the exact people who this was not made for.
Nah but i just don't know what it does...?

The ring’s price tag instantly made my heart rate go up.
Dhyana Ring is also interseting, which has a case thats presents the ring by popping up like Rolls Royce hood Emblem, The Spirit of Ecstasy.

I'm most interested in the sleep apnea feature, but too bad it's not available for the ring

My Ringconn has been doing all this for about a year (except the necessary gesture), and looks much nicer. Thanks for the helpful review!
not as accurate as a oura still
Which one is thinner Oura or Samsung ring?
Will this work and track my data if I leave my phone while I work out? And sync up when I come back to my phone?
Will it have NFC payments?
Does the pinching feature work with any finger or just when the ring is worn on the index finger?
From what I've heard, any finger works - just it *may* work better on your index
Can it answer or decline a call?
The ring's technology can definitely enhance finger tracking of virtual reality goggles.
Can I answer a call with a pinch gesture?
Nope, at the beginning there will be only snooze and screenshot, sadly, these gestures are so damn underrated
how do you tell the time on it ?
Does it vibrate for notifications?
