This is pretty well put together. In truth, while I love the Combat system of DMC, I never came close to mastering it. Just so many different, crazy, interchangable playstyles and combos that it honestly makes my head spin.
I remembered seeing other people talking about the game, they said that dante is the most difficult one to master as he has so many different weapons, with so many move sets with each weapon. As so, playing as Nero can actually be a good practice for getting the hang of the game.
Its true. Just like DMC 4 SE. Playing as Dante feels like going into a boxing match while having to juggle 12 balls at the same time. I am glad that they streamlined some parts of his gameplay so that his normals are SM moves now. But he still takes a rediculous amount of practice.

It's hard to remember what style you're in at each moment during high speed gameplay when you're performing several actions per second. Being able to double tap and have the right moveset available is a huge advantage.

You know it's funny, you think with him getting so old, all this is just his way of showing how experienced he is, but in truth this is his way of showing he still has room left to grow, and improve at a dizzying rate. He just makes it look so damn easy.
More like his character growth and mastery is being shown in the form of how playful and effortless he is. There's way more acrobatics and flair and less stiffness to his attacks than in previous games.
I never thought I'd see the day when a game would add too many elements. New weapons, new guns, new styles, new actions, new magical powers... I love it.
I find it incredibly satisfying how in Devil Trigger, the Summon Swords will act as a grinder on some attacks, pushing the enemy further into Dante's normal weapon attacks.
I didn't even notice it in my first playthrough cuz idk about it until I learn capoeira myself and start play the game for a second time and then I realized that its indeed capoeira move(i still dun know what it call but here 7:44, it look like he do the meia lua de compasso plus ground kick).

Technically speaking, he only kept Cerberus, since that was his first ever collected devil arm. He lost it fighting Balrog in the book. All the others he collected were sold to Enzo, who owns a pawn shop specializing in devil arms. He’s only ever used others when he rented them for a mission related to Lady I think
I don't know if others have noticed but when perform certain attacks the devil sword sparda turns into a more sycthe looking weapon which is a really cool detail

I hate that they took away some of rebellions moves in this game. I get wanting to keep the new sword unique but its already got alot going for it with its own combo c and the summoned swords. you could've given rebellion overdrive and its normal slashes from dmc3 and 4 and that really cool move where dante spins on his sword
