This is pretty well put together. In truth, while I love the Combat system of DMC, I never came close to mastering it. Just so many different, crazy, interchangable playstyles and combos that it honestly makes my head spin.
I remembered seeing other people talking about the game, they said that dante is the most difficult one to master as he has so many different weapons, with so many move sets with each weapon. As so, playing as Nero can actually be a good practice for getting the hang of the game.
Its true. Just like DMC 4 SE. Playing as Dante feels like going into a boxing match while having to juggle 12 balls at the same time. I am glad that they streamlined some parts of his gameplay so that his normals are SM moves now. But he still takes a rediculous amount of practice.
@@TheDocbachDMC4 Dante was a little unncessarily hard due to a few design choices. One being that pressing any style button twice put him in dark slayer. It's hard to remember what style you're in at each moment during high speed gameplay when you're performing several actions per second. Being able to double tap and have the right moveset available is a huge advantage.
@dantesapprentice4581 True. They really should have just made the Yamato a weapon instead of a style. I play with a DMC 5 mod that does that, and it works SOOO much better.
Don't worry. The players you see doing all that crazy stuff with him have had at least a thousand hours of practice with him.

You know it's funny, you think with him getting so old, all this is just his way of showing how experienced he is, but in truth this is his way of showing he still has room left to grow, and improve at a dizzying rate. He just makes it look so damn easy.
Makes you wonder how much stronger he will be if he isn't getting old.

More like his character growth and mastery is being shown in the form of how playful and effortless he is. There's way more acrobatics and flair and less stiffness to his attacks than in previous games.
He's not even old either, he's at most 40. His dad (With whom Dante has exceeded in power) lived for millennia
I never thought I'd see the day when a game would add too many elements. New weapons, new guns, new styles, new actions, new magical powers... I love it.

I didn't even notice it in my first playthrough cuz idk about it until I learn capoeira myself and start play the game for a second time and then I realized that its indeed capoeira move(i still dun know what it call but here 7:44, it look like he do the meia lua de compasso plus ground kick).

I find it incredibly satisfying how in Devil Trigger, the Summon Swords will act as a grinder on some attacks, pushing the enemy further into Dante's normal weapon attacks.

the break spiral move in balrog and the weave too, reminds me of the breaker style leg spin of Majima and the weaving of Kiryu in rush style respectively

ebony & ivory is just 2 different pistols, ebony was created for rapid fire and ivory for fixed fire if i am not wrong.

Also the shotgun is also an upgraded version so he can charge them too.
@@homeholer it's the opposite ebony for accuracy and ivory for quick draw, and the unlimited bullets are due to Dante's magic imbued in them, the guns are made by a normal human being

I wonder if Dante uses his collected Devil Arms outside of weapon demo cutscenes and gameplay. The only time i know when that happens is when he uses Cerberus (from the 3rd game) to destroy a Yamato fragment, destroying the chucks in the process
Didn’t Cerberus break when Dante fought Balrog?
he uses cerberus as a grappling hook in dmc3 to catch lady's motorbike
Technically speaking, he only kept Cerberus, since that was his first ever collected devil arm. He lost it fighting Balrog in the book. All the others he collected were sold to Enzo, who owns a pawn shop specializing in devil arms. He’s only ever used others when he rented them for a mission related to Lady I think
What I heard is he used Alastor in Drama CD.

Sparda Sword: The Underrated Weapon in the DMC FRANCHISE.
DMC1: No DT Form and you can only use it's potential on the Final Battle Against Mundus (Longest Melee Range of all weapons in the DMC franchise)
DMC2: Trish Can use the Sparda Sword with DMC 1 Moveset. "Something meh"
DMC3: Just a Reskin of Rebellion (Force Edge) sparda sword is not an unlockable weapon
DMC4: I like the way sanctus used the sparda sword aggressively (i love the way he showcase the sparda swords power, and this maybe the only time we saw it's potential)
DMC5: sparda sword is just a reskin of rebellion.

In DMC4SE DSS is Trish's weapon and it's quite strong

I'm working on the GOW Greed Saga. About the other 2 games you mention, I'm not sure about God Hand, but Metal Gear Rising is already on my to-do list; I might do it in the near future.
