In todays video we are finally installing subwoofers in the Chevy Suburban. I have wanted more bass and several of you have wanted to see something. While I normally like to build something customer I didn't have the time and got a pretty good deal on these used. I love the fact that the kicker solo barics fit in a VERY Small box which doesn't take up a lot of room. I really don't have a preference on brands but have been using kicker for a while because of cost. They seem to be good for the money. This is how to install subwoofers in a Suburban, Tahoe or Yukon Denali and keep the factory head unit or factory radio. The line converter is nice too because it works with bose and other factory radios. It also has the gain to turn down the subs if you don't want to play them loud all the time. What is your Favorite Brand? Let me know.....

Man this is one of the most thorough tutorials I’ve ever seen, helped me dramatically! Thanks for taking the time to do this!
Thank you. Glad I could help
@@TWAMotorsports>
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Nice setup. That old school kicker hits hard. The first thing I did to my suburban was change all door speakers to punch 6.5’s and added a Rockford T2 12 and T 1500 amp. It sounds awesome.
Thank you. I bet that sounds amazing
Awesome install!! You always have the best way for doing things and it seems you always put alot of thought into every detail and that makes it a really good job done well!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you. I hate to see crappy installs
Thanks for this, I got a system month's ago for my Burban but wanted to wait until I got a head unit b4 i hooked it up but me and the fiance are going out of town for our anniversary this weekend and I want some bass so I'm going to install it tomorrow before we leave. Thanks again!
Glad I could help
I was a Kicker guy for a long time. When hurricane Harvey hit us in Texas my 08 Xb got flooded out and lost everything. I'm running a single Skar MA-8 in a rear center console now in my 1983 C30 bagged dually.
That sucks. How do you like it?
Thats how i like my suburbans stock and clean i just wanna cry looking at that beauty!!!
Thank you
I liked how clean the install you did was. I always enjoy the videos. I have a sundown sa 15 in my Jeep with a tar amp 1200 watt. That thing hits pretty hard. I always liked kickers as well. I bet it beats man. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you. Yeah it does pretty good for cheap used speakers. I'm going to have to try some sundown stuff
Razor subs pretty good also, I had the Gothics (1) on the razor 2500D.. Loud off bass all the way down in neg ..sound traveled deep and loud for the caddy like 15s truck bass
Thank you so much, I used this video to hook up my subs in a 2011 Denali did everything step by step and it worked great!!
Nice. Glad it could help.
Looks good nice work! I started with Kicker had the round and square subs. Also had RF, Cadence, and Infinity. Oh, and a an Amp from WalMart then switched to Bazooka lol. This was all in my first truck in High School then I got tired of it.
Thank you
I'm doin my denali this weekend. Thanks for the motivation
Thanks and good luck.
I've always tortured kickers and they just keep on ticking. I like Sundown Audio, lot of bang for buck. They have entry level all the way to serious. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see work in the shop!
Thank you. While I haven't ever used sun down I have heard good things.
Hey man. Very nice, and clean, setup. I'm going with Focal 6.5 2-way in the front, 6.5 coaxial in the rear doors, and 12" Focal sub. Alpine 5 channel amp. In a Tahoe 2000 mod. Thanks for your videos brother!
Thank you. Sounds like a nice set up you are going with
@@TWAMotorsports did you upgrade you mids and highs?
This is going to be definitely useful for me because I want to learn how to put subs in my cars
Thank you. Glad I could help
Nice craftsmanship man. I'm definitely going to use some of these new techniques. Thanks for the video.
Thank you
I have two of the solo baric 10” man they sound nice and the bass is insane just built a custom box for mine on a Saab 9-3 paired with a Phoenix gold amp from the early 2000s hoping this setup sounds good should be similar since I have the same parts bin GM radio
Crazy how good they are honestly
Your cupholder bezel is available with matching wood grain from Cadillac. Did it to my 2013 Avalanche, looks like it should....ALL MATCHING!
Also did away with antenna and Cadillac has the proper cowl plastic for an antenna delete
These dont have external antennas. I dont love that wood grain cover. Constantly breaks
Sweet set up! Looking at a pair of 12s for my 05 tahoe be jamming in a couple days! Keep up the good work bro
Thank you. Yeah they actually hammer
If u want good budget skar audio is the way to go.
Nice and clean setup.
Thank you
Nice I love car audio. I like watching any types of builds. I got 2 18" Resilient Sounds Platinum subwoofers.
Thank you
09 suburban LT exact interior outlay and bose system..under center console hook up wit loc..im highly impressed with this install and will be running the same way this is a super clean install..thnx man keep it up.. 👌
Thank you.
Update..correction.. No bose system..cnt l.o.c. the front speakers cuz of clippn..do to tweeters n door speakers so rear speaker used n no clippn..still same install..very clean
Thank you
I'm a Fosgate fan but those other brands you mentioned are really good also! I guess it just comes down to buyer preference & budget! Nice video 👍
I agree. I have been on a JL kick lately
If you have issues with the amp moving around, get a couple 1” aluminum straps and sandwich the carpet between them and the amp with bolts through the amp mounting holes into matching holes in the aluminum strap. Mounted a powered sub that way in our old 2001 Slownoma extended cab on the back wall of the cab.
Thank you for that. It seems to be doing well.
I have a yukon xl and this is exactly what I was planning on doing. This just motivated me. Thanks
Glad I could motivate you
Same here.
Did u do it?
X LV
Just do it , wish I could use gifs on TH-cam. If you know you know LOL
Nice simple 👌 thats the way to go good job
Thank you
Your camera did so good with the audio. My headphones made it sound so good.
A10 c96
Interior still looks amazing
Thank you
Thank you for the link appreciated
You're welcome
Never messed with subs or amps. But you video definitely helped me understand how to hook them up. Not that I'm going to haha.
Lol. I keep helping others spend money
Cool you finally did the bass thing. Nice upgrade. Dude if you ever want something serious go for Sundown subs. Best sounding. Blows everything else out of the water. Skar is not worth it. Just said that from my experience. My recommendation. Nice install by the way. I saw that thing moving.
Thank you. Yeah sundown is something I would like to try at some point.
You gotta have atleast the front windows rolled down so the bass can travel and it sounds alot better!! Clean video perfect explanation 👌
Thank you. I do that but camera doesn't pick it up
Nice set up man ima a rockford fogate man now im getting into b2 audio and dc subwoofers but those solobarics are nice man those are perfect bro 👌 nice set up and install
Thank you. I have heard of DC but not the other.
I watch alot of smd he messes with b2 audio
I will check that out
Thank you for the video. Do you know what brand the line-out converter you used is ? The link isn't working, and trying to find a decent one. Did you get any noise interference, the dreaded whistle ?
I always had systems in most my vehicles, just haven't tried tying into a Bose system yet.
No whistle. I know what you are talking about. I fixed the link btw.
I think a system for the Trans Am would be cool especially since you are putting the money into its engine. Its a keeper.
I doubt I will put subs in it
This was the perfect tutorial.. .thank you!
Thank you
Very clean interior. I did the same thing to my Tahoe except bypassed the bose amp completely and used a 5 channel. What year was this again?
Thank you. It's a 2011
Clean install
Thank you
Great video man, could you tell me what wires went to which when you hooked up the line out converter? Its hard to see and thats definitely something I don't want to mess up on my truck. Thanks for all the info man.
Light blue. Dark blue. Light green. Dark green. If I remember correctly
Thanks so much for the video
Hopefully it helps
I say do a stereo on the green Sierra. I have a 99 silverado single cab and have one and would enjoy to see your take on it. Great video man, keep up the awesome content!
Thank you. Eventually the Sierra will get something
TWA Motorsports if you ever go to do it I recommend the JL audio prefab wedge box with the tw3 12. It fits perfect under the hump on the back with minor trimming to the plastic. And it bumps decently well for the size. Been through a few different boxes and subs, so far this is my favorite
@@heydem thanks for that info
Soundqubed and Resilent Sounds is good. For a sealed enclosure get an NVX VCW v3.
I will look into those. Thank you
Dude go with Sundown Audio i love their stuff like amps subs and door speakers they sound awesome i have it in my 2013 Tahoe man it sounds really good.
Nice. May have to try that sometime
Were you tapping those high/low (blue/greens) before or after the factory amp?
Should be before amp
If you have the Bose sound system in an 08 Tahoe do you need to get an after market stereo for the remote wire and rca?
No
I fiberglass 3 10" mids in my front doors .. working on getting 2 12" subs ....... I love orion stuff done rockford fosgate
Sounds nice
Simple clean setup love it man
Thank you
Fantastic job
Thank you
A quick question, do I still need to tap into any of those wires even tho I have an after market radio with the remote wire ?
No sir
Don’t know if you still have the vehicle or not but question . I had this done at the shop with stock head unit, I plan to upgrade head unit do I have to unhook the line converter to still get power from my subs to new head unit ?
I would for better control of the subs
What color wires did you hook the line out converter to?
Green and blue
What wires did you hook up from the box to the plug? Green going to the grey or blue going to the white?
Been a while. I think I showed that in the video
I just finished installing my setup but i get this weird issue when i start my truck in the morning everything works as it should but after i turn it off and turn it back on my subs dont hit as hard. almost like its half power or something. have you had this issue with your setup or have you seen it before and know how to fix it?
I have never heard of this or experienced it.
Vary clean thank u vary much
Thank you
For me, it’s always been Pioneer head unit, Kicker Subs, and amps I’m kinda own to… JL Audio, Kicker, Memphis, RF BD amp, AutoTek. My amp have to be Class D mono 1 Ω stable!
I agree. Good brands
Where did you hook up your remote I’m having trouble with mine?
I showed that. On the back of my line Converter or in fuse box
I enjoy watching your videos you should make more sound system
Thank you
0:05 . Nice TAHOE . Let me know when you do a system for the Suburban . 😄😁
Lol. I know. I caught that too
@@TWAMotorsports I apologize bro . I have a Suburban. Couldn't let it slide . I'll stop .
@@majorwilkesjr.5827 lol. It's fine. I'm human.
You almost got me😅😅
Kenwood system what I’m putting together with kenwood dual 12” with Rockville 3000 has 750RMS which be upgrading to BOSS 1100 Riot amp to the Rockville 3000. Dread part is rewiring the 8 awg to the 4 awg.
👍
Do I need a line output converter and what is its purpose I have a 2011 suburban and I’m wiring a sub and new amp do I need that?
If you are using factory head unit yes
Gonna have to get you to quit saying " 'IF' I sell the two door Tahoe" lol (JK it's YOUR show) C"mon man. That thing is so ready to be part of the family.
You didn't mention either at all but I usually use Alpine/JL Audio combo
I have never been a fan of alpine subs but like other products from them. As for the Tahoe I am not going to touch it anytime soon if it doesn't sell honestly
What kind of music you listen to needing all that bass? Just curious.
Just about everything
Nice set up do I have to do this when I have a after market radio
Most is the same
When you tapped into the harness... Did you plug the factory bose system back in? Basically leaving the factory stuff.. factory but adding a system and 2nd amp as well?
I did. You are tapping pre amplifier
@@TWAMotorsports perfect thank you!!
You're welcome
This was perfect! Question can I install another amp to the factory bose for more hi's/treble? And a EQ? I LOVE EQUALIZERS
Yes. Juat more work
Ok..with the second amp do I connect at the head unit or can I tap in on the door speakers?
@MrLloydSealey either I guess
For the bass knob just get 3m double sided tape and put it right next to the cup holder
Yeah I could do that.
Will this kit work with the Bose system that came in these suburbans and Tahoes? Great video.
Yes it should. This had bose
Bumpin!
Yep yep
nice new stereo would make it sound even better good job
Thank you
Great tutorial for all the radio amp subwoofers people out there 👍
Thank you
@@TWAMotorsports Travis I'm looking into that brake kit you bought for your ws6. I'm upgrading my front and rear brakes and the kit you have isn't showing up for my 94 trans am. Is there a typo error?
Spindles are different on lt cars. Need 98up front spindles
@@TWAMotorsports ok. Thanks my friend. I found the brake kit for my year 94 trans am. But they are out of stock. So I have 2 options? I can wait till they come in but Don't know how many months it will be? Or I can by 98 front steering knuckle to allow bigger brakes... What's your opinion on my options??
Upgrade from spindles. I have a set I sell for $100
Those are some old subs I had those in the 90s now I got 3 12 kicker comp r they slam
These are not the original solo baric. They released the classics about 8 to 10 years ago
How do you get you mids and highs to sound that loud?
Not sure. They are factory
i know on my 05 tahoe with bose the pink wire is the "remote turn on" for the amp
Usually
Throw some 10s in it, kicker good I ran alot of kicker/Orion, I'd build the box slightly wider meaning front to back about 2 or 3 inches not far above sub specs for deeper lows in truck
Already sold
I will be adding speaker box in my Tahoe maybe next week thank you . Of subject do u have any videos on how to fix or change the speedometer cable mine is acting up please and thank you brother
Thank you. No I haven't messed with speedo. It should be electronic and more than likely in the cluster
@@TWAMotorsports oh ok thank you
I also found the interior led light kit that you were talking about on Amazon for 20 bucks thank you brother you’re information has been helping me save money
You're welcome. Glad to help
How come when I hooked it up to the wires under the cup holder I have to unplug it and plug it back in for the subs to work and the factory amp to work to??
No idea. Check for a short or cut in wire
Kicker is awesome
They have always been good for me.
Does your voltage bounce around? If so how do you stop it?
Yes when the bass hits. 2nd battery will fix that issue
Hello, how to connect an 4- Speaker amp to a Chevy 2019 Tahoe! also where to connect this gadget!
No idea on 19
the best from the back of the center console use hanger and pull only thing to take off is the back/cupholder (23:25)
I use those occasionally
Can you do the sound matt and do a video on that . im here I got one the same year and I wanna bump it up . ill be around
Sold this
A good tip turn the bass down on the stereo and use the gain control for bass it sounds way better I did the same thing in my car and it sounds best with the bass turned down on the stereo just a tip that works for me
Good tip and that is exactly what I do
Right on! I wasn't sure I didn't hear you mention it so I thought I'd let you know as to enjoy it even more
You recommend to install a capacitor ?
I generally don't
Ive always went kicker my whole life. A lot of guys in my neighborhood like Memphis audio.
I was always a Rockford guy.
@@TWAMotorsports ahh yes the P1 and P2 days. Buddies in high school rocked them. They never once had an issue with them and sounded great. They only used sealed boxes for 12"(s), its probably what they preferred rather than what the woofer recommended.
Yeah I haven't used Rockford since 2000 lol
Was that 4 gauge wire for the power wire? If so what size loom did you use?
Yes. I think 1/2"
Awesome, thanks for the quick reply.. wiring kit be here next Monday and I'll get to rockin
You're welcome
Tryd to add a amp/sub to factory Bose sound system and the rear speakers won’t work when the amp is turned on but when the amp has no power going to it all the speakers work like before. I used a kicker line output converter, I tied both the left and right wires on the line output converter into each other then tapped into the light green and dark green wires that Is located under the trey on the center console on the left side of the plug which I believe is before the factory Bose amp that’s what I used for my speaker signals then I tapped into the light pink wire on the same harness that I used as my remote turn on. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make my sub and amp work with the factory Bose system.
Not sure but sounds like when you tapped in you disconnected the rears somehow
What year is this Tahoe you’re working on
2010 Suburban
Jajaa called it a Tahoe 0:05 seconds into the video lol do you miss you 2000 Tahoe ? Great vid by the way. Keep it up with the good videos
I know. I caught that when editing. Don't really miss the tahoe. Thank you
Did you have a Bose system stock?
Yes
Have you ever done a 2015 Chevy suburban?
No
You think the radio and speaker wires are in the same location for A 2005 Chevy suburban z71
No
Thank you for the response do you have any idea we’re would they be
@darwinmoya5155 not off the top of my head
I have the same ones but 15s they hit hard
I had thise before and totally agree
Have you thought of camming the green Silverado
I posted that 2 videos back on the green truck
What years is that suburban?
Am looking for one, I have subwoofer box on top of my back seat on my Nissan Altima. Box too big for my trunk. two Skar ZVX 12
It's a 2011. Skar seems to be a popular option
Build a box
I would have in my 20s. Lol
I was talking about his Nissan but you would get better sound with a custom box
👍
I feel like it has been a while since I have seen this Suburban
Lol. You have to get caught up
That passenger seat just needs a new switch to move front and back. Can get one at autozone and switch it out cheap and easy.
I actually sold this before fixing that
Hey man will this work or similar steps for a 02 Yukon denali ?
It sure will
Thanks just looking for a line output converter now
Should be able to use the one I did. Link in video description
@@TWAMotorsports thanks I was checking that out you recommend using that one instead of the PAC interface gm kit? I like the one you have you can adjust it
Skar audio period!
It seems to be pretty popular
Will this convertor work with the oem Navi with Bose?
Yes
