Best bands to come out of Jersey: 1) Springsteen/E Street Band, 2) Southside Johnny/Jukes, and 3) the Smithereens.
Mike Douglas called them the dukes also. SSJ , hates that album and will never play a sonf from it in concert. He said the record company made hime do a " disco album" and the song he hates the most is Get your body on the job!
My mistake, the album i was refering to was 1983 trash it up

Nope; they were there only for Johnny's performance.
Aw, too bad. Did they at least stick around until the end of that day's episode?
I should have skimmed through the show before answering before. They first showed up for Johnny's performance; they then stuck around for the rest of the show for the 2 remaining breaks.
Was it a very short credit roll?
Yeah, nothing noteworthy.

Underrated: Southside Johnny.

Southside = great vocals
Together = the best
Little Calcutta is among Southside's greatest hits, but his live performance in this video is awful. In fact, I have never seen a good live performance by Southside Johnny. Yet he's still touring and (presumably) attracting fans who don't care if the songs bear only a passing resemblance to the recordings. BTW, the album Slow Dance that Southside promoted on Letterman is hard to get nowadays but includes three top-notch songs: Little Calcutta, On the Air and Sirens of the Night.
SSJ is one of my favourite live artists, he never fails to put on a great show. Lots of people don't go to a concert to hear an exact copy of an album, but they want to see and hear great musicians having fun and entertain their crowd. Copying albums is boring, witnessing great musicians using their skills to give you an unforgettable experience isn't.
