We've been to the Grand Teton National Park twice before, but this time felt different. In other words, it was even better. As we've said before, each time we visit somewhere we've already been we're able to explore a little bit more with a little more relaxed feeling. The idea of trying to "do it all" on the first visit can actually take away from the overall experience. Now that we've been on the road for a few years, we pick just a couple things we'd like to do or see and otherwise just enjoy being there. This time we stayed at Colter Bay Campground, hiked to Phelps Lake to jump off "jump rock" and checked 3 more items off our Summer to Remember list!

It’s gratifying to see that most workers in the areas of CO and WY you’ve visited are being careful and courteous by wearing masks to protect you, and others, who visit their livelihoods. The last two KYD videos surprised us by how unexpectedly careless you seem toward those with whom you interact outside your immediate family. People who live and work in those remote areas are dependent upon tourism, so they have to be serving the public. Remote areas generally suffer from limited access to advanced healthcare, putting those people at an even greater risk if infected than their urban counterparts. Responsible traveling shouldn’t increase the “local’s”, or other traveler’s, risks. Even if we don’t believe we’re vulnerable to COVID-19 ourselves, wearing a mask protects the people with whom we interact and shows we care about them. - Safe traveling to all!

Thanks David, I was about to post something similar. I love the chanel and seeing their adventures but now is not the time to be socializing with everyone you meet. We retired in February and have put a hold on all our travels so we don't risk spreading C-19. We so much want to visit my parents as we had planned but they are in a rural area in WI (1 C-19 confirmed in their county) and access to good medical is not the same as it is for us in Raleigh. If we were to visit we could become infected on the road and would not know for up to 14 days. Our being there would also draw other friends and family to visit and I don't know how I would live with myself if our visit caused harm to a friend or family member. We have lost two friends in Raleigh to C-19 and neither was high risk for infection or death from infection.

Long ago my dad owned a camp within 10' of a 7-1/2 mile long lake, 5 miles from town. The people next door lived in CT. and would bring intercity poor kids that had never done anything fun outside! They where afraid of bugs, would not go outside after dark for fear of be shot. They showed them a whole new world worth living in!
First off, Trish GREAT job driving through town and backing! Second, aww the joys of traveling with a fur baby. And thirdly, our motto for an RV is Use it. Break it. Fix it.

@@KeepYourDaydream I guess people choose to believe the information that's most convenient for them. Tony Robbins....really??? It is selfish to not wear a mask and social distance, as that protects others, not you. It's an extremely simple thing to do. At worst, it is an inconvenience to you. At best, it saves someone's life. How disappointing.
And that is why the deaths keep piling up. Wear a mask it's been proven that it works.
I had an open mind so I listened to Robbin’s panel. If what his selected panel said was true, NY city’s outbreak was impossible. It seems like a simple precaution to wear masks when inside other people’s RVs. You’re also setting an example to hundreds of people who might not have your perceived immune system.
And, as we watch numbers climb in over 20 states, including the hot spot of AZ where KOD is from, what do they tend to have in common? Not requiring masks, so people not wearing them, not social distancing. I also listened to the panel. The lack of true credentials...a chemistry professor, two owners of private Urgent Care centers where their income has dropped (gee, no agenda there!), a self-admitted, "I'm not an MD or an epidemiologist; we have friends in China..." Again, really? This is the source of information that some people are using to make decisions? The lack of common sense is just mind boggling.
I would love to follow that couple forever. how cool. fun and nice they are. Safe travels.
I would say that what you are doing is perfect!!! sitting here in my town home watching in so much envy , almost crying , one more year and we'll be doing the same lifestyle, till that time I have to just live thru your adventures.

Happy Father's Day. We went through Tetons on our honeymoon...I gave my husband food poisoning, it was so bad! Bad meat in cooler...oh my goodness. 48 years later, he still won't eat "honeymoon hot dish!"

@@arbonneladyTN Oh my goodness, it was so bad...he crawled around outside all night in the Grand Teton, probably saved his life cause it got the toxins out. We were both sick for a really long time. We were such hippies back then, everything we owned in a Pontiac LeManns including two dogs we got at a yard sale (shepherd/wolf mixes no less...named them Sunshine and Friend) Ran out of money is Alberton Montana and stayed for 4 years...two babies and "Jesus" later...here we are after 48 years. Congrats of 39...so glad you've made it this far...it gets really good at 30 years I think. Who knew.
My girlfriend and I camped at Jenny Lake, 1977, for tenters only. Very desirable. People would cruise to see who’s leaving as early as 6am. A VW bus with two CUTE guys came by and asked if they could share our very extra large space. My girlfriend and I I looked at each and said, “Of course!” We had a great time

I'm no art critic, but I really, really loved the Museum of Western Art just north of Jackson. The food is great, sit and gaze over the Elk refuge, the art is cool and the building looks like a dilapidated structure from the road. (But it's gorgeous)
I love the art gallery as well. Every time I’m back in Jackson I go check it out to see what’s new! It’s very well done.

Our vet told me on our 3rd Friday afternoon visit (in less than a year of Roxy joining the family) that Golden's are famous for "garbage-itis" they will eat anything. My husband will attest to this as he has wrestled many different forms of road kill and a frozen dead bird from her mouth. I was once walking her early in the morning after a huge snowstorm. Roxy stuck her head down into a huge snow drift and hunted around for a few seconds and came up with a sandwich. Yes a full bun, top and bottom, lettuce, and sliced meat. A few times she's ended up with diarrhea or barfed up her findings up on my living room floor but she's always been fine, usually about 3 minutes and $700 after leaving the vets office.
Anyone who offers McCallan 18 to a guest, is a true hero!!!

Kyd community tip... before you buy bear spray (something that you REALLY should carry on trails) in Wyoming--especially if you're staying in an airbnb--first check every cabinet around the place. Its VERY likely that some random cabinet already has 5 or 6 unused cans from previous visitors!!

The states we are visiting are at Stage 4. We're 100% complying with CDC. In fact, we could even host a meet-up with up to 50 people, but don't think that would be responsible. When masks are required, we wear them, but typically not recording then.

I binged your episodes before we loaded our family up and traveled the West for 6 months while my wife did travel nursing. That was 2 years ago and we got lame and bought a house and catching this episode has really invigorated me to hit the road again. Can't wait for our trip to the Black Hills next month. I can't tell you THANK YOU ENOUGH! We put our house on market and appointment was before we put it on. SOLD. We had my husband's lifetime of living there to get rid of in 4 weeks.
We're almost done. June 30. I couldn't think until now and caught this last chance and I am so happy! RI will never be the same once we hit the road.

We went to Pinedale, Jackson, Yellowstone, Tetons, Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore, and the Badlands last year. Amazing!👍
Where did you park your rig in those places? We are planning a similar trip in Sept.
The one and only time I ever overheated my brakes was coming down Jackson pass. I made a mistake and let the tailgaters behind me push me to go faster than I should have and almost had an accident. My brake pedal went all of the way to the floor when I needed to slow down. We had to stop at a pull out and wait for an hour of so for everything to cool off. At least the scenery was good. I now have a diesel with an exhaust brake and I ignore anyone trying to push me to go faster.

We didn't get to go here 2 weeks ago. Instead we drove thru and camped outside Yellowstone one night. We did one of those massive cross country trips, car camped and saw the kids in Idaho. It was crazy and fun! 7/1/21 is the goal to go full time! :) The Tetons just crush me how insanely beautiful the are. It is something to behold!!!!!
Hello folks, we’re in the Grand Teton National park right now Fathers day with our new 2020 Globetrotter, hope to see you but more importantly, about your Water Heater not working, we had the same problem with our three (3) way refrigerator not working on propane and the guys at the Las Vegas Airstream service department replaced the gas regulator valve at the Propane tanks and it corrected the problem. Hope this helps - we’ll keep an eye out for you -

My Aunt has a nice cabin right on the boarder of Wyoming! Love Jackson so much! The snake river is a blast to go down during summer. (I have 4 kids and soon will be married, we hope to be full time RV living in the next 5 years. Would be sooner except 50/50 custody keeps us here for now) thank you for all you do, and showing us all how we need to start living!

0:25 Charlie's pooping problem reminds me of a two-week road trip from Chicago to Yellowstone when I was ~10 y/o. I was getting car sick a lot while sitting in the very back of a ~1978 Ford wood paneled station wagon. The adults thought I must have a "current Charlie problem"....looking back on it now at 48 y/o...I think exhaust was seeping into the back of the car.
My goodness I’m starving and watching this, Damn Mark how on earth are not like 400lbs with that girls cooking abilities!!!! I love that Sarge guy man I could just get drunk and watch him be high on life. Damn that Airstream is truly unreal....
"We don't even have a goldfish" .... really cracked me up :-) For the record, I'm 72 and have been playing video games everyday for the last 25 years. I compete in racing online and beat young'ins every day. In my late 60s I was ranked in the top 0.5% in North America on the Sony leader board for the GT Academy. My copy of Assetto Corsa Competitizione for PS4 just shipped today so I'll be in my simulator for about 8 hours tomorrow :-) Kinda sad that even the higher priced deluxe rigs suffer the same quality issues that all other RVs do.
WOW... I love your Airstream, but come on, theirs is ridiculously nice! It's the Classic 33FB! Drooled all over one at the RV Show. Those run about 150-170k new! So jealous, but props to them.

I went to a Grand Design rally last year and they had a cigar and whiskey night, it was awesome. I thought I had a sophisticated cigar and alcohol set up till I seen how some of these guys roll. Handmade hardwood and leather travel bars complete with glass acoutrements and humidors. Really classy way to spend an eavning.

OOOhhhh! I loved this episode! My daughter was up in Jackson the same time you were; her first time there over the age of 4. My husband and I met when we worked at Jackson Lake Lodge back in 91'. We spent a lot of time in Jackson and exploring the area. Recently we bought our first "real" RV and will be living full time in it starting in Buffalo, Wyoming. I love the cooking scenes in this episode - well done! And you're so close to 300k subscribers! congrats!
KYD has been to two national parks so far this season. Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Teton National Park. That's two dots on the list.

We love you guys but really upset that you do not appear to be doing any kind of socail distancing or wearing masks. Not only should you try to be safe but the message of summer of fun to your viewers should include understanding that we are still in a pandemic and you can still have fun but you need to be safe. Especially in tight quarters like some ones RV. I wish you woukd address this as you have a lot of followers and the message you convey is important. Love you guys and again please stay safe in your travels!!
This brought tears to my eyes. The Tetons are my absolute favorite National Park to visit and the one that I have visited the most. My life list of U.S. NP's is sitting currently at 37. I would give just about anything to live in the Jackson Hole area. Thanks for taking me on a return visit tonight.
Guys I just love you sooooo much!!! Thank you for posting happy, positive videos. They are an oasis of joy in this desert of despair that is 2020. My nephew works on a horse ranch near Jackson, & you showed me a little piece of his world today. When we finish our Airstream renovation, I’m driving it out to see him.
