My mint does amazing rain, sun, shade, overwatering, drought, heat, it's my best plant I bring it in over winter too and this year I mulched my bed before frost and it's 20 degrees outside and under the woodchips my mint is still alive.
I am 17 I love the mint plant it is very strong and powerfu
Recommend growing any kind of mint in a container, because they're quite aggressive and spread underground.
@@shereegreen4643 yes it is
Mint is a weed and really doesn't care.
As long as you don't nuke it with too much heat, she should be just fine and dandy for years to come.
Similarly to Rosemary, be sure to pick a designated section for these herbs exclusively. They both tend to take over, as they should.
Happy gardening.
It took me 3 years to kill mint in my garden. I love it in a container.
Great info. I'm going to vent.... I'm having a dump truck of topsoil delivered in 6 hours and my boyfriend(jist downsized housing and made him debt-free) could not be less supportive. I'm heartbroken because all of this is so exciting to me and now I'm doing it totally alone. Its like a shock to the system. I have a full sun yard and full shade yard and an area where I gotta build a tiny home to get my own space.

Video suggestion - please do a video on growing direct in ground and how it is different compared to growing in large containers or raised bed and some tips from your experience. Very much appreciate your tips.
I grew corn behind my garage in shade / partial shade and to my amazement it worked! Best corn I had ever tasted too!
Thank you- this is so helpful! I never imagined basil and parsley could be happy in shade!
Thank you! Awesome video with information. I like how you stick to the material and don’t waste time talking about stuff that doesn’t pertain to your title. Thanks a lot!
I had no idea kale is a perennial. Very good to know!
Thank you Jag, you gave me hope that I can still have a harvest this year.
Great tips on planting vegetables and herbs....thanks Jag!
I appreciate that you don’t waste time with filler.
Wow! I’ve never seen anyone cover this topic so throughly. Thank you!👏
“ Doesn’t go above one hundred degrees” I look out at my stunted and now bolting lettuce out here in the desert, yup sounds about right 🤣
When he said you can grow lettuce in the summer if your summers aren't too hot and I thought he meant like low 80s but then he goes on and says "so like under 100 degrees"... yeah clearly he's not from where I'm from. :P
Also the south in high summer, but now it's humid too. I find if you pick it and leave in the fridge for a few days it gets less bitter (I guess the carbs convert to sugar like potatoes?)
In upper Northern Nevada high desert here .... yesterday at my place it briefly hit 120🥴🥵🥵
For over a week it was triple digits. Yeah, my plants 🌱 weren’t too happy 😥. Lots of shade cloth & raised beds too.
This video will help me in strategically planting Cuz I do have several trees around the garden area.
Thanks so much... glad you came up on my feed👍👍
I absolutely LOVE your channel! So glad I found it and am even more glad about all that I'm learning from you! Thank you.
This was great! Thank you! I didn't know that about the herbs so now I'm going to be moving them into some shade.

You read my mind 😀
Yesterday I was staring at a bare patch in my garden that gets full sunlight for only a couple of hours and wondered what I can plant in it.

Hello Jag, I want to thank you for making your videos although my daddy was a farmer I knew alot about growing things BUT I have really learned alot with the information you provide in your videos, my husband wont watch any other videos other than yours he says you really know your stuff and he’s building potato boxes so we can get our in the dirt. For the last couple of years our garden has not been doing to good but we’re going your way this year and see what happens. So thank you again. Happy Gardening wish us well.

Thank you 😊
Thank you so much. I just started gardening and this is the best advise so far.
I love your garden and trees and chickens! Thanks for the tips! I grew up on a farm in a cooler, rainier climate and we gardened in the full sun. Living downtown now in a warmer climate, I have been gardening for two decades and have had so much trouble with things like basil, peas and Swiss Chard. It never occurred to me to move them more into a shady spot. I really appreciate this video and your advice!
Wow! I have been despairing of how to grow a garden at my new home, which is very shady. Now I know! Thank you!
ANOTHER GREAT Video thank you for helping me feed my family from the earth yet another year thank you. May harmonious love health and peace come to u xo
Thank you, Sir. This was very encouraging and helpful.

Hi
I live in the North of France and of course the weather is a bit different ;) but I find your comments very useful and interesting Thank you
Very well explained and everything to the point sharp, not at all wasted time for any kind of unnecessary crap. Worthy of praise.👍.
thank you for sharing video it gave me lots of ideas i needed to know and i also enjoy watching your beautiful chickens. have a bless day
Thank you for helping us. 🙏🏻
This video has helped me so much--I'm keeping my container basil in the shade and it's never done so well. Thanks you!
Thank you so much! I’m doing container gardening for the first time. I have more shady or partial shady areas than full sun, so now I know I can have “shady harvests” as well. Well-done video-efficient use of time and very informative.
Just what I needed! Thank you.
My garden is shaded and I was wondering what I can grow in the shade. Your video is very helpful and much appreciated !!!
Great video! I experimented with bush beans in sun and shade this year. For green beans they produced almost the same (with the ones in the sun doing just a little better) but for dry beans the ones in the sun did WAY better.
Thank you very much for this info. Last year I expanded my growing area into the shady parts of my yard. It's adjacent to a park with a lot of very large 100-year-old trees. As expected, some crops failed and some thrived. Hoping for better results this year. Kansas, USA. Zone 6b.
I have a large non-fruit bearing mulberry tree also and I was hesitant to start a bed under the canopy, but now I think I'll try to grow in the partial shade area. Thanks!
This is such an informative video. Thank you.
This is definitely a keeper. I will be back with pen and paper like I was back in school. I know as a newbie, I will make tons of mistakes, but I really want to make a go of this. Thank you.
Thank you Jag, I will definitely plant the herbs and salad under my fig trees.....I hope is ok. My mom and I love your videos! 🤗
Great information. Thank you so much! Your chickens are very cute.🙂
Even though this video is a year old, it is by far the best one Ive found since I am now living in a shady area . Thank you!!!!
Love listening to your videos... always helpful Jag...thanks from Australia... Robyn
Lovely presentation. Lovely tone of voice and clarity🙏
I have 2 kiwis that cover a pretty large area with shade and I’ve been trying to figure out what to plant in the shade below them. I think I’ll plant some zucchini or yellow squash now. Thanks for the ideas!
Thank you. Much help. Moving my plants around today.
You have such a pleasant face and voice.
I am in Portland Oregon and it is my dream to own a land and farm all the way.
I do have backyard vegetable garden with 200 sqft of growing space.
Agree with you. Some day, wish to at least volunteer at some organic, natural farm to learn more about farming. I am in Minnesota, so growing season is shorter compared to California.
I agree
Ha my brother loves in Portland and wants to do the same thing. The city has that kind of effect on ya, I hear :p
My dream is to live near Portland, Oregon and have a backyard vegetable garden with 200 sq ft of growing space.
Thank you so much for your time and video!
Excellent! Thank you for sharing. You really helped me save my garden 💯
Really helpful video! Thanks for sharing all this helpful information. This will make a big change in how I arrange my large herb pots this year. I dehydrate herbs for the year, so this will make for much better herb yields.
Exactly the info I was looking for, thank you!
I just discovered your channel and I am delighted I did. I love the feeling you bring to your channel - such love for growing. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge.
Glad you like the videos!
