I have a 2003 Cayenne Turbo that I bought for £2200. I've spent about £1500 in parts, serviced everything, replaced cam cover gaskets, a wheel bearing, couple of injectors and it's now running perfectly. I did it as a project with my son and am now thinking of making into an overland or transsyyberia rally clone and just enjoying it. They are fundamentally excellent and where there are issues, these are well known and generally easy to solve. Oh, I also have a f11 530d touring if you want another Dad car to review. In so many ways, a quick estate car is far better than any SUV. Also have a minted 986 boxter. And an M2.

New subscriber and fellow dad of 4. I have just sold this very car! It ran just shy of 600 horses. I loved my 18 months in it. I serviced and changed everything and every time I drove it I laughed out loud at how stupidly fast it was. Even after 18 months it took you by surprise when everything spooled up….the PDCC was like black magic too. It made a 2.5t car flat corner. It went through the twisties like nothing else that big. Why did it go? It was financial suicide!! Every 20 miles was just over a tenner. It became a real decision to use it as my wife’s car is electric. Loved it and miss it. Good luck with your channel, great to hear your well judged views on it and your co pilot is the cutest little person. 😊

I just bought a 2008 Turbo with only 1500 original miles. I also have an 05 Cayenne S with only 42k miles, that I have pampered and upgraded. I love these older Cayennes, as they are not so electronically complicated, and I find them easy to do minor maintenance at home. The Turbo is a beast, and I know I will enjoy it for years as I have the 955, that my wife will now take over. At almost any mileage perhaps up to 75 or 80k, I think they can be excellent value, and very enjoyable daily drivers. I also agree that a good used early generation is beginning to look current again.
Just about the time I had a bit of cash, I also had a kid. I spent weeks reading reviews, car adds etc. Then after settling on a 957 I spent months searching for the right one. Mine isn’t a turbo it’s the NA S, but I’ve had it 4 years now and it’s not missed a beat. I had it detailed and it’s got a Irish plate, so you can’t tell the age (well unless you know). Now with two kids it makes even more sense (practically) and it’s so much fun. Completely relate to this video and I don’t think I’ll ever sell mine
Bang on about child seats. How is it we're getting these massive vehicles with waaaaay less interior space than there should be?! Awesomely done video, great work, love the humour and the kid being part of it all. "Ma ma ma" "No, da da da" - ha ha!
Yeah I should do some more SUVs, I think because I grumble about them not many SUV owners offer me their cars to film 😅 my latest video isn’t going to help that! But I really loved driving this Cayenne
My friend bought one of these for his wife 3 litre diesel for school runs etc. it was the wrong car considering it's all city miles and only has 2 kids. More recently he replaced it with the Lexus ct200 which is much easier for city driving and hers twice the mpg
Great video Ben, thinking of changing my diesel Insignia at the end of the year for something a little less sensible and I am getting really taken with these they are a bargain.
Yeah. They are fantastic. I’ve sent my turbos for some hybrid machining. Had a tune on the ecu and tcu and it’s now running at about 650-670 HP. It’s such fun to drive and boy oh boy it squats and fires itself out of bend and away from lights.
