    And how did we get to the point that predicting a kid going towards the ball, my reaction should be “slice them with a sword?”

    As someone who primarily plays backline, I've long since gotten used to thinking "why is everyone in the same spot?" And I've started playing as a Slayer and now I'm like "oh, this is a bit harder than I thought"

    Positioning and awareness really are some of the most difficult skills to develop in online games.

      You gotta learn
      1. What you can do
      2. What they can do (opponents and teammates)
      3. What needs to be done
      4. Map layout
      5. Enemy and teammate patterns
      It’s a lot 😅

  • @sw0rdbyte
    @sw0rdbyte ปีที่แล้ว +12

    thats one of the reasons why i think trying backline weapons is great because that playstyle naturally lets you start learning to stay back to "pass" the ball, so to speak, and you can practice that sort of overseeing where everyone is awareness

    A small extension of the ball chaser analogy on the objective: Don't ball chase the other team for picks either; as soon as you get out of low level, there is an 11/10 chance they're baiting you into a disadvantaged fight

  • @LumeanTV

    I love being a mid-backliner that sometimes Front lines and is a supportive player primarily. I've been told by my friends that I seem to have more situational and environmental awareness than others on our casual teams and that it helps when they're playing around an object (like a balloon or something) and I catch them, and start pushing the other side so we can close in on the enemy together. The soccer talk was also pretty cool. Made me think about that.

  • @mister-sheep

    I got a perfect clip of this exact behavior in clam blitz not long ago. I charged a curling bomb and dropped it onto a ramp I knew the ball was on and to my shock three names popped up at the bottom of my screen.

    • @hallaloth3112
      @hallaloth3112 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, this is why when I am playing something with bombs I just chuck them towards objective. The number of doubles I gotten for just casual bomb tossing is absurd.
