Thanks Adogg! Pat married the guitarist Neil Geraldo. They are still married! Listen to: Fire and Ice, Heartbreaker & We Belong. A couple more from Journey too: Still They Ride, Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' & Lights! Love your reactions! I always listen to the end!😀

She would have been in earlier, but the idiots just wanted her in solo - and her husband (since 1982) Neil has been her lead guitarist since 1979, so she said "both of us or neither". They finally pulled their heads out and put them both in.

You wouldn't think such a powerful voice could come from such a tiny woman but she'll make you a believer on the first note... it's volcanic. She's one of (if not the greatest) female rockers ever! I just love her. As always amazing reaction, thank you ❤

Pat Benatar certainly does not lie. She is one of the greatest. When I was very young she taught me what singing IS. Listening to her and trying to emulate her definitely developed my voice. That range, those high notes without pressing it out, that vibrato, that sincerity!! Thank you Pat Benatar for your contributions to us all (especially women), your art, your beauty, your authenticity, and above all, your CLASS. (I know she won’t read this but I had to say it anyway.)

I believe I remember she originally trained as an opera singer, clasically trained singer at the least. You can tell by the voice control, how she powers into those high notes; effortless.

This was 1981 1st year MTV. They needed vids. Pat was on rotation constantly. They sent notice to fan club. All those people are from fan club and this is studio. I saw her live in 1982. Rocking out. I've since met her. She FINALLY got inducted in Rock n roll hall of fame.

The first two albums sent many ‘chick singers’ into serious vocal training to cover Pats operatically trained voice. It was what a cover band singer had to do, and most couldn’t.

a 40+ year career covering multiple genres and styles. She still tours occasionally and fought many battles with the industry to open doors for women in music. I saw them live in 1981, my first concert and absolutely stunning. I wasn't at this particular concert but I think it was the same tour. Her book "Between a Heart and a Rock Place" is very interesting. Other songs by Pat that I would suggest are "Fire and Ice" and her live version of "I Need A Lover", it blows the Mellancamp version away IMO. Enjoy the journey, thanks for checking out Pat's work. Her husband/producer/guitarist is extremely underrated. He can absolutely kill it!!!

Pat was a powerhouse and still is. As a trained opera singer turned Rock N Roll Pat bought attention to a lot of issues through her music including child abuse in her anthem Hell is for Children and sexual obsession in society with her hit sex as a weapon. Love is a battlefield is classic 80s with her video and her song invincible was featured in a film. Pat is in the process of producing a musical featuring her music.

Pat started out as an opera singer I believe. You can hear her upper range on "We Live for Love." That note she hits is chilling! "Heartbreaker" and "Hell is for Children" were her early hard rock bangers. Might be second only to Steve Perry as far as vocals go. That would have been some duet!

Great reaction! I would like to see you react to her Hell is for Children. Deep, dark message, but beautifully done.

Not sure where this show was but I saw her thrice on this tour to promote her first album "Heartbreaker" which was at the Palace in Windsor Plaza in Houston. A little history leading up to the show is that the radio stations were playing the bands version of "I need a lover" a John Cougar song that was popular at the time but the show itself was not advertised on the radio stations as they weren't well known in Houston. Her first ever show in Houston was Monday Dec 17th, 1979, cold and rainy with NFL playoffs going on. The only reason I knew they were playing is that I was there the week before and saw a poster that that this band was playing. Showed up with my girlfriend and noticed that there was maybe 5 other people other than the bartender in the whole club. The band walked in the front door got on stage tuned up and she walked to the mike looked around and basically stated that we're here you guys paid for tickets, so we are just going to play our show. After playing their sets they came off stage everybody got drinks and mingled for a while I ended up with Patti and the bass player and we played pinball for hours talked about the band and music and whatever. Since I had to be at work that morning i had to bid ado. Definitely a night i wouldn't forget. The band came back in January and August 1980 to a full house i was at both shows all with great atmosphere and performances. those were good times for rock and roll in America. By the way my ticket in '79 was $3.50 Gotta love it.
