Nike Air Max 1 '86 OG (Big Bubble) "White / Royal Blue": Review & On-Feet

- After releasing the original "White / Red" version of the Air Max 1 last year in "Big Bubble" form, today, Nike dropped its counterpart - the "White / Royal Blue" pair! Built the same, it features white mesh, blue and grey synthetic suede layers, and an extra large Air Bubble in the heel as a nod to the original 1986 production that was quickly scrapped for its 1987 version! Did anyone else pick these up today?

I love Air Maxes and especially the OG red. I like this OG color fine but I don’t absolutely love them enough to add them when I am trying to slow the growth of my collection.
It’s not just you. Women’s sneakers ime tend to fit more narrow compared to Men’s sizing. I went up .5 in these and I’m glad I did. I’ve wanted these forever and they are beautiful in person. A nice match to my red pair.

I got my pair so beautiful
to me they fit exactly same as the obsidian 86. i have us11 on am1 87 and 11 in obsidian 86, and the royal blue 86 says 12,5. they all tend to break in after using them some days, soft material etc… hope that helps. one more thing: i heard from several
indipendent people the red 86 fits slightly bigger than obsidian and royal blue, but dont own these so cant confirm. .
I prefer the 87’ version. However, I don’t dislike the big bubble, it has its own allure. Had to cop due to the history of AM1 and can’t just have the reds. Waiting for the royal blues to come home.
Second 😂. Glad I copped these today. Need to circle back and cop the red OG pair that I missed out on last year.
I actually just bought both last night on GOAT. I have the Crepe Hemp and the Steelers pairs as well.

ended up copping off SNKRS but it never said Women's in the listing. Normally it would say so, so I went for 10 (my true size). Fingers crossed it's the right size!
Update: It was not the right size :(. Really wish the SNKRS site listed it as Women's sizing properly.
I got super lucky hitting on a men’s 12 1/2 whoa they sold out and something in my guy told me to try again and BANG they restocked I instantly got the GOTEM!!!
I’m a true size 10.5 slightly on the wider size. I tried on my first pair of AM 1 86 yesterday and they’re so snug. Do they break in over time?
Yes, the more you wear them, they'll break in nicely. My last question would be how much room is between your big toe and the toe box? Nike has a great return policy if they just don't feel comfortable.

Yes, now the 95 and 97 models are more narrow in the toe box, so those I like to size up by .5. 90s I think have the best fit IMO.
You’re correct. We’re in the same boat. I sized up by half size in the 95, 97, 98 because the toe box is too narrow.
In the 90, air max 1, and BW Persian I went true to size. Hopefully I made the right call not going up half a size in these styles.

So disappointed with this pair returned less than an hour after delivery. Poor quality of materials and what about the level of quality control of the products (black spot on the midsole, completely deformed toe box, chip in the bubble...). This is unacceptable given the price at which we purchase the products. Sometimes I even feel like the shape of the Air Max 1 has changed, for example the mudguard is narrower at my feet. Additionally, in Europe, a 44 (US 10) remains a 44, whether male or female, which is different in America. I even suspect that on another order I received a 43 (9US) with the inside label saying 44 because I had it tried on by someone who wore a 43. Nike and Jordan are increasingly disappointing me more.
