2023 gladiator purchased brand new in March 20 24. The hinges aren’t corroding. My door is corroding on the driver side and the hood is corroding. It’s not just an isolated hinge issue.
Great video; much appreciated. Over the decades I've owned many Jeeps and currently own a "23 Gladiator Mojave. Very disappointed to hear they didn't make the repair correctly from the beginning.
Mine is going in for work in October. I was told all 4 doors and hood will be getting replaced. Hope they actually replace them and not just "repair" since that what they said they would do from the get go.
I have a 21 Jeep Gladiator and I have corrosion on the lower portion of the front passenger door. I’m in the process of having the corrosion issue taken care of. My dealership does not have a collision center so a non-CJDR collision center will handle the corrosion issue.
My JT Rubi had corrosion in hood and doors. Jeep would not give me a loaner and they wanted to keep the vehicle for weeks. I traded for a Bronco and never looked back.
I've got a 2019 Sahara in the UK. It had the exact same corrosion issues, and had the exact same repair method e.g affected panels and hinges stripped and painted, but not replaced. Unfortunately the corrosion is also coming back - in new areas too. How did you get on with Jeep about resolving the new corrosion issues?
Galvanic corrosion/dissimilar metals? That should be covered under the body/frame corrosion warranty, which is different from the 'bumper to bumper' or powertrain warranty. Maybe this sounds stupid, but what about a sacrificial anode like they use in boats or hot water heaters (or the manufacturer just uses the right metals)? The hinges are aluminum and the door is steel, right? If this is the case, then this is an old problem... like 1824. Stellantis should have known about the problems with using the wrong alloys and should have used something with an index closer to the metals of the door.
We have a 2018 JL that we purchased brand new in 2019. It has had the corrosion issue since about a year and a half into ownership. We travel full-time and I have taken it to multiple jeep dealerships all over the country. We were told that it was not under any sort of warranty, so we never had it fixed. None of the dealerships ever told us that it was under warranty. I literally found out about a month after our warranty expired in April of this year.
What year is this? I’m looking at purchasing a 2020 wrangler with 61,xxxkms here in Canada. It has the dreaded corrosion issue and wonder what the process is to have it warrantied. My understanding is 5yr/100,000km is this true?
Btw, you might change the bushing of hinge to plastic (product from Kentrol), the hinge attached to the door panel and the bushing are aluminum, but I am not sure the hinge attached to the frame is steel or aluminum, if you can chek it that would be great! Anyway the plastic bushing would definitely help to slow down the corrosion.
Did they approve the re-fix on it under the 5 year corrosion warranty?...if comes back 3rd time is it covered again under the 5 year corrosion warranty?
I don’t know much about Jeeps, but I always thought the door hinge corrosion was normal and expected if you look at the design. Hope you get it sorted.

Yeah it hinges doors and hood, but damn how have they not fixed this on the newer models.

Yeah hopefully they will fix it again.
If only there were detailed repair tech bulletins from Jeep. Oh wait…
Yes I have 21 gladiator with corrosion hood tailgate and some door hinges

Yeah definitely fight for them to put new parts on.

Make sure they replace the parts and don't just sand and repaint it.

Make senses. It's definitely a challenge to get this issue addressed.

I haven't had a chance to get back to the dealership yet

Oh that sucks, maybe contact Mopar directly and see if they can help at all.
The paint issue is covered for five years from in service date of vehicle
@@harryhewett8880 correct. We purchased March 2019. I was told it wasn’t covered. Found out it was AFTER the 5 year mark.

is it 35 or 37 inch tire? Ur white JL always looks great

They are 38s actually.

Haven't had a chance to get it looked at yet, I will keep you all posted when I get an answer.
What about nightmare of paint match ??
The warranty is now they replace the doors. I missed it by 7 months.
A little off topic but can you give the specs for the wheels and tires...thanks
They are 38x13.5r20 on 20x10 -18mm wheels. Check out some of my other videos for details.
Is this a problem on the 23s and will be a problem on the 24s?
I am hoping they have fixed it, I thought it only happened on 18-20. If someone has a newer model and it happening please comment and let us know
@@evolvedjeepinit’s starting on my 2021. So far 2 door hinges with bubbling.
@@jpl8085 that sucks, you think they would have figured this out.
I’ve heard it’s still happening on 2024 models.
I believe it was corrected by 23 model.

Pretty normal. The tires throw rocks at the hinges all day. Impossible to keep the paint nice. Get a touch up paint and hit it regularly.
Yeah but usually it is paint that is flaking off, this is corrosion from the inside out.
@@justinn600thats different than rust and corrosion
Probably take a major lawsuit.
This is covered for the first 5 years of buying as a new Jeep….
My 2013 jk has this issue 😂
What a joke and no there is not a life time warranty. Terrible.
What a joke. Terrible.
I will never buy another jeep between the corrosion and batteries only have36000 miles
