    born and raised in Kyoto.
    my introduction to music was Wadaiko, the Japanese Drums, and was inspired with its deep sound.
    started Drum set in High School, then met Djembe while traveling in Spain,
    realising the possibilities of people connecting through music despite the race, language, or culture.
    ever since, my journey started; looking to find the sound that touches my soul.
    "Sound has no border"
    "We are made of Water"
    70% of the Earth is water, and so are we.
    inspired by the work of Dr. Emoto Masaru, who presented the affect of vibration or consciousness
    which changes the shape of water crystals, born was the Hadouram, letting the audience feel the change of water vibrations.
    re-directing our eyes or ears to its simple beauty and playfulness of the Water.
    my most recent work includes the sound used in the Korean Expo,
    as well as Pre-natal Music, and Sound Healing Workshops.
    internationally traveling for performance such as Sound Installation in France,
    opening act for the Environmental Art Residence Project in Cameroon,
    tours in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaidzhan, Georgia...to name a few.
    collaborating with Yoga,MASSAGE,Butoh Dancers, Belly Dancers, Fire Dancers, and Painters.
    on- going in act, searching for the possibilities, origin, and principles of the Sound and Instruments.

    This has my inner scientist working, i wonder how the sound would change if you could create a system to dynamically increase/decrease a gas such as helium or the opposite (forget the name, Reduces Buoyancy) into the bowls while your playing, similar to frequency knobs on a sound board. Something to try...

    • @SupaBlank
      @SupaBlank 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      glad i can inspire.

    • @ValseInstrumentalist
      @ValseInstrumentalist 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Two factors involved here which helium would alter are the level of submersion and the size of the chamber inside of each bowl (enclosed by water). Since helium would serve to raise bowls slightly out of the water, two things would happen. The first is that the size of the chamber inside of the bowl would slightly increase, making the frequency response therein slightly more suitable to lower pitches (I believe the lowering would be close to negligible since each bowl is barely submersed). The second thing which would happen is that the bowl itself would be less submersed, altering the modes of vibration. I don't know much about the manner in which bowls vibrate when excited, but points of maximum vibration (the bowl's antinodes) tend to be near the lip of the bowl, and the points of minimal vibration tend to be nearer the depression (the bowl's node). That's why the bowls here are so muted--their lips are submersed. If you hold a bowl by its lip and strike it, its vibration is muted by your hand (unless the bowl's impedance is great enough to transfer its vibration into you, in which case, you would still be unable to transfer the sound to the atmosphere, and thus the bowl would still be soundless). But if you support it by placing the bowl's deepest part on your finger and then strike it, the vibration is much more significant. The instrument here could be much more efficient in terms of energy transfer if the sounding bowls were flipped over, but that's ultimately an aesthetic choice as the player may prefer the muted sound of submersed antinodes. Thus, adding helium to the chamber would serve to free up the bowls' antinodes, increasing the vibration and thus the transfer of energy into the atmosphere, effectively making the bowls a little louder, and emphasizing the fundamental mode of vibration in each bowl. Again, the lips of the bowls should ideally be freed from water entirely if the goal is loudness and clarity of the fundamental. When the bowls are submersed as they are, all that's heard are some cloudy upper partials which are barely supported by the chambers of air inside (which, by the way, are less able to transfer energy into the atmosphere because the bowls lack holes). Now, as for the three dented bowls, they have much more complex vibration patterns, and that's why they're able to approach melodic sound. They have antinodes all over the place, wherever there's a dent, and they all transfer energy in variable patterns across the bowl. For those, the lip is less important then certain areas around the dent. Still, though, their dents are not very well supported by the enclosed air chambers inside the bowl, so their sound is likewise muted. Sorry, rant from an amateur organologist.

    I don't want to be rude, but this didn't seem very impressive to me at all. The instruments are rather unique and interesting but the actual performance sounded like something most people could probably do quite easily. Maybe it has to be enjoyed in person to get the full effect?

      @dakdrums1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll be honest with you, I've seen many videos on TH-cam of people using actual hangs and making them sound amazing!

      To each their own. I personally didn't enjoy this particular performance and I think there are far more talented individuals who have had far more impressive performances. Critique doesn't always have to be positive and negative criticism can often be far more constructive.

      I think what others tried to say is that this is not supposed to be criticised ;-) I too enjoy the ability to think critically, but this would just be spoiled if critique got applied to it. Yes I mean up to the point of no negative comments, though it might seem strange or censorship encouraging I don't mean it in that way... The comments are supposed to be uplifting as the whole performance. It's not here to show off, but to give smthng...

      I'd like to see you create your own instrument and music and then criticize this' I think your jealous because you probably are not this creative and innovative.
