Yes we drink the water that their privates soak in...
4 people like this including myself. I'll have myself a sip!
This reminds me of my childhood,we used to compete to see who the best water drummer was.
Creativity makes the world go round.
Give thanks.
Agreed.
🙌🏽
I was 10 years old when I went seaside. Suddenly, after the some water "punching" realisation came through. Water was making lovely rhythmic sounds. That was WOW moment for me and my only wish for the others was to find this out. From that holiday, every year I had my own drum water session. 😁This video is prove that folks over the planet know about beautiful "instrument" and for me thats the same feeling like finding soul mate! Can't find the exact words to describe this profoundly, overwhelming happiness right now. ♥️
The hell do I waste money on expensive toys? They're having ten times as much fun as I am, for free.
And have a bath at the same time.
There are drums under the water
This is so amazingly beautiful!!! I am reminded of daughters of Yemanja. It think it is beautiful how different cultures use earth's natural resources to create beautiful art. A true honor to the creator and Great Mother.
Totally amazed and impressed with their water drumming!
This originated in this island group as a game to make washing clothes more fun... This clip is an outtake from I full length movie I made about the music and culture of these people. You can find it at my website (see description!) Thanks!
I'm a Chamorro from Guam (another pacific island). I just find this interesting because in my culture, we're taught not to be loud or "disturb" the ocean when in/by it. So to me, I'm watching them with a little shock thinking other pacific cultures think/do the same...Still a cool video though. :)
very interesting !! It could be great to talk about different conceptions linked to a same relationship to Ocean ! I guess it's just knowing more about the feelings of each different culture.
do you know the exactly meaning of the lyric, really appreciate your help!
I think the reason could be that Chamorro people are part of the region ''Micronesia'' and people from Vanuatu are from ''Melanesia''. I think this can explain the different cultures even if they're still Pacific islanders. Like for example, Polynesia could be also a different thing. Is just my opinion, I don't know if I'm right.
No, those are just names given to the areas by Europeans, it has nothing to do with local cultures.
StoufSto I doesn't seems to be the case when I studied that. Micronesians and Melanesians are completly different physically and also culturally. Physically, Melanesian are more similar to Australian aborigines. Melanesian islands share similar cultures and beliefs, same with Micronesian islands. Also Polynesians are physically, culturally and their linguistic different to the other two. The triangle of Polynesia it's an obvious cultural region and they share all similar beliefs, physical traits and languages. Maybe I'm wrong but I would like to hear your explinations about your opinion.
Hypnotic, and I never thought that water could be used in making music so wonderfully.
I love this video so much.
Thanks for sharing this even though I'm 13 years late, always a treat and a mood booster to hear such jolly creativity.
I wonder what the surrounding fishes were thinking...
Dunno about the little ones, but the sharks were thinking, "Oooh, look, some free entertainment with our meal! Always loved me some dinner theatre!"
probably looking to grab the glowsticks and molly
Jamming out
Boogie time
Probably being mesmerized if not alerted by all the extra bubbles, churning, and [group amplified] rhythmic hydroacoustics.
wonderful Vanuatu Onelove Melanesian
Beautiful, how soothing and enchanting.
Ladies you are amazing. You bring music to another dimension.
Give it a chance. It begins slow, at first.
But absolutely beautiful halfway through.
Brilliant and beautiful to see this awesome rhythm with nature... so cool!
This is so catchy! I watched it in music class but just had to watch it again 😍
This is so beautiful! Just lovely.
Oh man.... love this.
magnifique de simplicité, de beauté, de joie et de pureté
I've been making music like this (usually more complex songs) since I was a young kid in the bath and shower and later anywhere there is water flowing or in abundance. I still sometimes like to play music with sink tap water, mostly at sinks other than my own (due to the thin stream in my two home sinks), the most frequently played tune I play at/with water flowing into public bathroom sinks, is the unconsciously well-known 1890s Czech marching song 'Entry of the gladiator'/Opus 68.
Saw this years ago and it remains one of the most beautiful things I've seen. Gives me hope ❤️👑
LOVE IT, feel like go swimming through that rhythm
I think the first rhythm is a 7/4. Great.
People are always including the bottom number and claiming a “time signature” when there is no bottom number if you don’t have written western sheet music beat value. It’s an irrelevant written indicator that doesn’t apply to sound
This is fabulous! Thank you for sharing.
I felt this. Sent a shiver down my back
Very cool water drum

the glory of being human that we have lost..tragic..but here beautiful
It's not lost. You have hands? There are surfaces. And I'm sure you can find ONE person who enjoys a good beat and a nice chant. I'll gladly volunteer myself. But there are plenty of humans to go around so ;)
How wonderful!
Very interesting. I remember water drumming in my bathtub as a child… This video brings back old memories. 😍

Beautiful !...thank you :-)))
amazing.
This has to be one of the most beautiful things in the world to experience... we're gonna have to recreate this moment here in SC
I'm guessing that's somewhere in the US, because only Americans would call something "SC" and assume everyone knows where it is.
@@juliansmith4295 I do apologize .. SOUTH CAROLINA ... home to the GULLAH GEECHEE NATION .. though I am an immigrant, sadly .. it would appear I adopted the trait.. thankfully Ive noticed this practice and Im quite sure I comment differently today .. 2023 than I did 6 years ago.

Amazing Sound Healing
thats was beautiful!!!
Wonderful
Omg they are everything! A very talented people!
+tony mandujano If it were you it would be that, an idiot slapping water. But this women are showing a beatiful skill tranfered from generation to generation, they know what they are doing, that's why it sounds so awesome.
And actual drums are just slapping hide or metal or wood etc. And heck, I guess a piano is only smashing keys.
You clearly have no appreciation for different artforms.
What they have you have - that is - beauty and sacredness
Súper NATURAL
THANKS.
MUCHAS GRACIAS
As a child, I would do this all the time in the bathtub--and got in trouble for splashing water everywhere. LOL! It's amazing to know this is a real thing with cultural significance. Absolutely wonderful.
