    Welcome back!
    With all the wiring done, Scott now has to configure all the sensors, set up the keypad, transmission with flat shifting and throttle blip and do a quick check to make sure everything is a-okay. Fortunately he can do most of it while sitting comfortably in front of the car via the NEXUS’ Wi-Fi connection.
    ----------------------
    This is going to be a long, tech-heavy episode so sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!This is a long episode so if want to skip to the specific setup section use the shortcuts below:

    The haltech really impresses me, it’s not as expensive as a MoTeC M150 so that’s a plus.

    I know I've mentioned it before but once this thing can control a BMW DCT via CAN I am ALL OVER IT.

    Excellent job haltech. Kick ass unit. When my elite 2500 no longer suits me I will be getting ones of these. Keep up the great work. Definitely more dash development and color dash options and this new ecu is amazing. Thanks. Keep it up.

    So excited about the Auto stuff. Will be using the A340 maps and functions for an A442f Landcruiser Gearbox. Having turbo charged a 1FZFE the gear changes really kill the clutches.
    Would love to see more detail on tuning an A340 and how to manage line pressure and shift timing for high torque engines.
    Being able to do flat shift is a game changer.

    Buttons changing colour would be handy.
    Red = off, Green = on for example.

    Great video series on the R5, seems like an amazing product. One question about the PDM functionality, is it possible to add additional high/low current outputs to it, making it closer to the outputs of say a MoTeC PDM30?

    Everytime I watch these videos with full ecu swaps to get the digital dash and keypad, I want to completely revamp my car to make use of it all. Then I remember I have to pass dmv inspection and get sad I can't do it..

  • @ifluro
    @ifluro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you program the keypad/ecu to latch the starter on when pressed, then the ecu to unlatch when a certain rpm is reached, eg 500rpm?
    Like a "crank hold function"

    PRNDL? Would you like AM or FMMMM?

  • @dogmoo
    @dogmoo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Totally unrelated. You know what feature I want on a stand-alone that I haven’t scene. I want recording data triggers . If the ecu sees a given value than it takes a snap shot of the moment and say 10 seconds after as well. Is that a thing? It should be a thing . Love you guys

    • @idriwzrd
      @idriwzrd 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Basic datalogging, bro. Megasquirt will even do that.

    • @dogmoo
      @dogmoo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      idriwzrd you sure about that? I’ve seen load based triggers but nothing else. I’ve never seen an AFR trigger for data logging

    • @idriwzrd
      @idriwzrd 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dogmoo Can't speak to Haltech datalogging, as I haven't used it. But MS logging can be set to start and stop by just about any parameter that you can imagine.

    • @dogmoo
      @dogmoo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      idriwzrd I just dig through the manual and couldn’t find it anywhere for mega squirt. I’ve used mega squirt in the past and don’t remeber the firmware I used having it.

    • @idriwzrd
      @idriwzrd 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dogmoo Weird. Under the data logging tab, there is in an option for 'triggered logging' (probably not like the SJW triggered). In that menu are many options for when logging should start and stop.
      Who knew I'd be giving tuning advice on Utoob comments, someday?

    Will this ecu control BMW dct box ?

    Dont matter the cost i want this for my daily. Itll be a legal manufacturer upgrade setup. Remeber pimp my ride? But more like just to reach a luxury model. Gonna go from ground up and havent decided naturally aspirated or not. My particular vehicle build, 2005 mazda 6 s wagon, had a couple guys turbo it but im thinking power steering upgrade to electric, and then procharger there, plus double electric water pumps to free the cam and go back to aluminum intake to free up that intake throttle restriction. Id need a vacuum pump also. The duratec 30 was a base for supercar engines. Im going to build a car and it will be worthless. But its be an experience. If it turned out pro level it might take mazdas attention. I am a mazda tech at a dealer. Idk. Dream big. I dont just want to go fast. I want to build new stuff! My current quote on parts is 12g for NA. Thats ecu also. Im going to bed

    I know this seems off subject, BUT ITS NOT: are any of u drummers out there, that has or used Ezdrummer3? It's set up so the switch buttons for this car's setup, are assigned, practically the same! The way I do my eDrums is via MIDI.. I then transfer that to a MIDI via USB (that way I can use all my older gear too). I have a big feeling (lol I can't help but think this), that the drum software and this software, utilize a seriously similar system. On the drums, I select a drum sample, click "learn", tap the drum trigger (in this car's scenario, the button), and the program assigns the note (samples sound) to that trigger! So, no more programming all of the parameters of each trigger on the MIDI controller.. just make sure all the triggers are designated to separate "notes", make the software "learn" what trigger to control, and all the parameters are in a beautiful UI on the computer! Lol sorry for the rant.. I'm rewiring my truck and just checking out all the neat features people like these guys get to give a go, so it is relevant (well, to me at least haha).

    Ok, so anyone else an eediot and clicked on this because they thought it was about a Honda Civic Si EP3? that said, I stayed for the whole ep(3). :)
