Another MASSIVE episode! The R35 gets tied down onto our dyno to see how much "safe" power we can get out of it before next week's shakedown. In this huge episode we try to get as close as we can to a "Live Tuning" session - with Scott explaining every step as he does it. We cover fuel, ignition and variable cam setup, engine protection, boost by target gear, sequential gearbox with flat shifting and throttle blip setup and even the pit speed limiter. As an added bonus Scott also shows you how to use NEXUS' on-board oscilloscope. If you ever wanted to see what actually happens when a car gets on a dyno - grab a coffee, sit yourself down in a comfortable chair and press PLAY:) ---------------------------------------------------------- Don't want to sit through the entire episode? anyone who likes tuning fork better than Andre? No kidding man, you're awesome in explaining tuning proceedure, best ecu tuning video I've seen so far!!! Huge THANKS for sharing it with us!!!
Calibrating all the sensors correctly, taking in measurements and datalogging before one actually begins giving the beans to the setup to make power, is crucial. Failing to make sure your sensors are reading correctly, you will not be able to map the setup , any fail-safe is based on them will not work as it should , and one can end up in some sort of frustration to say the least if not engine damage. It is better to take readings and re-calibrate things if necessary more than once, especially on sensors that are based on ambient air conditions. Although familiar to the content, I always find these episodes, no matter the subject matter, on point and as they should be. Keep it up!
Knocked it out of the park as you have also done with wiring series. Videos that make your product approachable are gold. I hope people realise that a ton of this gold relates back to the Elite. Even more so once ESP gets “NSP’d” in future. Thank you.
What a great video! It's rare to get this type of technical insight into the tuning process behind a full on track build. A perfect example of the value of a high end ECU coupled with a vast array of sensors coming together to deliver the ultimate in tuning flexibility. Flat foot shifting tuned to perfection! Please keep up the amazing content!
This whole series has been really satisfying to watch so far! Being an automotive sw engineer myself I'm absolutely stoked to see a product as the R5 on the market. Really good job, Haltech! Also seeing the neatness of the whole wiring, achieved by this type of one box system + the skill level shown by Dave is amazing! Can't wait to see and hear this thing ripping round the track, though
So exciting to watch these episodes of installing the Nexus! Finishing a 12hour shift and can't wait to watch the next episode. What a damn good ecu. I always love looking at parameters of engines to see what they doing and this is exactly it. It sure will be the choice of ecu for my car. Keep it up Scott! Great work guys. Ps:Scott please tune my car one day...
This is profound, I attended UTI here in Florida back in 2010. During this class instructions I just didn't catch on. Until now when you explained it before hand! Back then it only fuel mapping to adjust fuel ratio against factory settings with a factory ECU! Nothing like all the variable your unit has.. This is a very capable unit, I'll be in the market to purchase one and match it with a Ford V-10, twin turbo.
Truely great work Tuning Fork, So much to learn, so well explained, The setup on the car looks and sounds top notch, You guys (Scotty and Turbo Yoda) have convinced me to grow up and change from sideys on my A series Dattos, to some of this Haltech electrickery, buying the trottlebodies was a start... Elite 550 next, Thanks to you guys for working so hard and sharing with us.
Beautifull this is what ive been waiting. Haltech back for the R35 ... Will you make a video for flat shifting sequential dogbox setup detail with elite 2500 thanks
I'm most excited about the transmission controll, I'd love to see what the Nexus R5 could do with something with a really modern automatic transmission like a C7 Z06 Corvette. Being able to tune the transmission seems like the next logical step in VCU tuning control.

Hi, Scott I have an elite 2000 that I've seen trying to get to pop during flat shifts like you did with the sequential. I've seen multiple other elite owners be able to do it aswell. However I have not had much luck. I've tried ignition cut during shifts and fuel cut with no success. Any info? Trying to keep the turbo spooled or have an anti lag effect during my shifts since it drops boost quite low (high boost 35, drops boost to 9 psi during shift)
Alright, who is going to shoot the body man for giving up halfway through the guide-coat on the Skyline? I know it's got a lot of strange angles and body lines, but come on. ;)
Do you guys would care to share the wiring schematic ( like the spreadsheet you follow to make sure each senso was on the right channel)to have a guide to follow and wire my car that way
@@kinslayergaming3159 tell me about it. I do not have a GTR R35 nor will I build the same harness they did but if the whole car was wired with the Nuxus R5+ I would definitely use their wiring diagram and pin out as reference. Because I need to keep defrost, wipers and lighting including brake lights and reverse.

Can the Haltech Dash work with an AEM ECU . I know this is heresy but I like both ECUs
😍💪👍👍
Finally a tuner that is relaxed . I lost 3 motors due to a moron that was lazy and in a rush
Sorta seams like you are a moron yourself, 1 motor sure shrug it off but the 2nd would be my last

That thing sounds so wicked when it rips though the gears! Can't wait to see it on the track!
That's next week:)
That smile after he tested it says it all. Sounded so good too 👌🏻
You don't get this much info and excitement even out of The discovery channel. Awesome to watch.

@haltech can the clutch less downshifts with blip be implemented on a 13b turbo rotary?

How do you set up shift cut with h-pattern dog box ? And is it possible with Nexus R5 ? Thx

Go, go tuning fork. Well done :)
33:20 that dyno moves around a lot on the floor? I thought they would be bolted down.
This beats GTA 5 mods.
Scott, with the engine protection, how do you get the ecu to actually kill the motor? (For example when you see low oil pressure)
You can set the RPM limit to 0
Your links in the description that lead to different parts of the episode, all lead to the start of the episode. Fyi :)
Sorry about that. All fixed now:)
@@haltech Now that, is customer service :)
Scotty has it occurred to you that there is still time to move into the aerospace industry?
Are the r35 in rwd or just put in rwd for dino?
Cool.
For some reason, there is no detailed video of flat shift settings anywhere... Is this a big secret?
Is it just me, or does the GT-R look better without a hood and bumper?

Hopefully it’s being painted at some point?
Yes. We're told it's going to be red.
Good choice
car go brumm brumm down gears
What spat out the pipe at 26:30 ?
just a small flame. that spec of dirt in the background just got picked up off the floor and thrown around by the air from the fan.
Why is battery voltage at 15.5?
The alternator can charge right up to 18v to recover a weak battery or cope with high loads
please tune my R34 awsome vid
Where is this car now?
Getting ready to race.

WTF?
2:40 - 5 bar oil pressure sensor does not equal 50 PSI of pressure. 5 X 14.7 = approx 70 psi...
All that fab work and you still put the steering wheel on the wrong side lol just messing with you nice car though
