- In this video we make our final visit of the season to one of our favourite sites - The Camping & Caravanning Club site at Hayfield in Derbyshire. Surrounded by woodland, and with a backdrop of fantastic Peak District hills, this site is a pleasure to visit at any time of year, but an Autumn visit is pretty much an annual fixture for us.

Weather that forces a little to adapt. Traveling by campervan changes the pace, we often discover that inactivity is not unpleasant and that a less grey sky quickly becomes very encouraging. 👍

Hi Ceri & Kat! The leaves were just starting to turn. In another week it will be even more amazing. The funghi were out in force though! Loved the purple one....I was thinking they were Amethyst Deceiver, but I'm not too hot on mushrooms!

Nice quiet campground- I can see why you enjoy going there! Very nice to have a Pub nearby so you can have a relaxing dinner. Beautiful sunshine after the rain…. Everything looks fresh and green! 👍👍💚
We do love it there! So many great walks directly from the site, but we were taking it easy that weekend 😁

Ha ha, me too! 😁 But the weather app said there was a break coming! Those purple mushrooms were rather pretty. I only saw that one patch of them.

Oh dear, that was us in the Lakes last Sunday, a complete washout, real lucky the next day was nice and sunny. Good to see the bad weather did not spoil your appetite or thirst and also the whole of the weekend was not wet, cheers Alan
Hi Alan. Looked like it was going to be right washout, but started brightening up a couple of hours after we arrived 😁 We had waterproofs anyway, but luckily weren't needed! Had a great time. Hope your weekend turned out well also!👍😊
that was a beautiful overnighter. I liked the scenery and views, the pub and bar and the attention to detail, the mushrooms and nature... very nice. We need rain so bad here.

Loved seeing all the campervans lined up there. Thank goodness the rain stopped enough for ya'll to get out and walk around. Cheers. The pub looked nice and so did your meal. Love your flip skillet. You got several nice walks in; even though the weekend started off really wet. Never seen purple mushrooms before. Nice.
Hi there! It is a lovely little site. But the access road is very tight, so best for fairly small vans and tents. I think nearly every van uses one of those flip skillets! 😁 They save an awful lot of splashes from your sausages! 😁 I loved the purple mushrooms too. Don't think I'd seen them before!

Hi folks! Yes, the weather turned out better than expected, so we were able to get out for a few short walks etc. It's nice that this site is within easy walking distance to the village, but still has loads of options for longer walks in the hills. Just wish it stayed open over winter! 😁 All the best and see you soon👍
Shame about the rain, but looks like a nice place to stay. Sometimes it’s nice to get away no matter what the weather 😊

Hi Simon. We had the waterproofs with us, but luckily it brightened up after a couple of hours. Maria is definitely in the more cake, less miles camp, so she enjoyed the lazy weekend 😁 Lovely walking in the woods at this time of year though!

Noswaith dda Des a Maria I loved seeing your cosy van in the rain for the last camp of the season there. We have one of those TF grills too they are great and we also have a tiny one. Loved the rolling green hills there and also that walk in the woods you did where there seemed to be so many mushrooms was also great to see. That church was beautiful and you had some nice visits to pubs too! Really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing :) ~ Anna 👍
