- Join us for a tour of the Hayfield Camping & Caravanning Club site, and a look around just a little of what the surrounding area has to offer. We spend an afternoon in the village of Hayfield, with it's selection of pubs, little shops and cafe, and also give a glimpse of a couple of the excellent walks in the area (full videos of these walks will follow shortly). We'll even throw in a few bits of the local wildlife for good measure!
#edit - One important thing I forgot to mention...the Hayfield C&CC site is for motorhomes, campervans and tents only. No caravans due to access issues.

I got fed up of saying "you won't be able to see this on the Gopro" so got a little superzoom camera for when I don't have the SLR with me. Hi Jody & Chris! Yes, it's a wonderful spot. Plenty of wildlife, and hikes stretching off in all directions👍 It was nice to be able to view the dipper from above. The camera struggled to focus, but we could clearly see it swimming underwater! All the best & have a great weekend👍👍

Hi Tim. Yes, those Camping & Caravanning Club sites are generally quite formally laid out. The grass field a bit less so. I love seeing those big sites you have over there, that are spread out through a huge woodland or whatever! Cheers for watching👍

Looks like a lovely place with beautiful rolling green hills, and a nice site to stay in. Loved to see the river and the heron, and the pub where muddy paws are welcome 👍Think I will bring Rago 😄

Only stayed at Hayfield once but very fond memories. Arthur Lowe’s birthplace and the pub where the first Corrie script was written haha (me and Bri were big Dad’s Army & Corrie fans!!) 👍
Hi Sue! Nice little place isn't it? We didn't walk past the Arthur Lowe house this time, but I think the Corrie pub might be the Lantern Pike Inn. We stayed there several years ago and it had some stained glass panels from the Rovers Return and some other memorabilia. Cheers for watching!👍😊

Great looking site which looked like it had everything you would need including a great wee path to that pub over the bridge lol. Having a pub close by is always a bonus. First thumb up from my side, full watched, your style of standind in rock is look amazing, water stream, there are also some temporary hut, a bird is taking bath and after enjoy sun shine, but the most important and amazing thing that i watched in this video is the diving of sparrow, that is unforgettable part, thanks for sharing, stay around

Hi David. Yes, it's a lovely location and nice and local to us too. Luckily the rain confined itself to arriving, leaving and during the night 😁 Probably our last pint sitting outside a pub for a while though!

Hi Dave. Yes, one of our favourite sites. Great walking and some decent pubs within walking distance 😁 I wondered if the heron might have been a young one. That technique did look rather clumsy! Was lovely to see the dipper too👍 Cheer for watching! See you soon👍
@@DesGreene yes definitely a young one - they have quite a light comb on top - as they get older it gets darker. We have so many here I know them all by name 😄😄😄
@@NBNatureTrailvan 👍 Forgot to mention....we had a stoat posing right outside the campervan just after we arrived! Needless to say, it didn't wait for me to get the camera out! 😁 It didn't half make the local rabbits shift!

Hi Terry! Lovely isn't it? One of our "go to" places for a few days away. A week later now, and the colours on those tress should have developed nicely. A walk up around Elle Bank and looking back across the campsite to the woods on Kinder Bank should be pretty stunning👍 Cheers for watching! ATB👍

Hi Graeme. It is fantastic location, especially if you enjoy walking. You've exposed the flaw in my perfectly crafted review though....forgot to mention it's motorhomes/campervans/tents only. I think no caravans due to the tight access road. Cheers for watching👍

Hayfield is a beautiful quaint little village. Love the water features and the architecture of that church (?). The Campground was so pretty and green. What was the waterfowl. It looks a little like a blue heron, but the neck is too short.
Hi Bill & DeAnna! Yes, it's a lovely little campsite, and quite local for us, so we go there often. The bird was a Grey Heron, which I think is quite similar to the Blues you see over there. Thanks for watching & see you soon👍
