Nice Camping and RV site - very convenient to be close to town and you can easily walk in for a look around and a meal. Fun to see the micro Pub and the Old Mill Pub! Lots of great history, great place to relax and do some sketching! 👌🌟🌟
Hi Jennifer. It's a nice old town, and probably a good choice for a rainy weekend. Wouldn't have been very nice in the hills, but we enjoyed having a wander along the river and exploring the town. Cheers for watching! Catch you soon👍☺
Hi Steve. Yes, the mill and Bowland Brewery was a highlight. There's also a food hall and other stuff there. Pendle Hill was looking rather splendid with a cap of snow, but I don't think I would have got any thanks for dragging us up there in that weather 😁
I always think it's fun when you can have a beer at thé brewery itself! It's always the best! 😊 Looks like a fun weekend out! Have a great Sunday! Kaat
Hi Kaat. Apologies for the slow reply. It was fun having a beer in the brewery. We have quite a lot of micro breweries over here these days, but Bowland seemed to be on a slightly larger scale. An interesting place! Hope you are keeping well. All the best👍☺
Looks like a great weekend getaway, even with the rain! 🌧 Love the riverside walk and how convenient the campsite is to town 👍 The micro pub and brewery look awesome - definitely my kind of spots! 🍻 Thanks for sharing the adventure! 😊
Hi there! It was a good choice for a lousy weekend (I know, we are wimps 😁) but there's also some great hill walking nearby as it's right next to Pendle Hill. Looking forward to getting back there with some better weather!
Lovely Jubbly. The micro pub looked good and an amazing brewery at Holme Mill. Love the Ribble. One of our favourite rivers I think. - so many beautiful sections. The CAMC sites are all in good locations but so expensive for what they are. But that one looked in a great location 👍👍
Hi Dave. I think it was £25pn at this time of year and with our "old farts discount" 😁 So not too bad. I think it gets a lot more expensive high season though. It was probably a good place to go, given how the weather turned out. Plenty to explore. All the best👍👍
This site looked good despite the weather guys, its always good to get out. Clitheroe looks like it has some interesting history with the castle and different old buildings. Looks like you liked the micro pub and brewery in the old mill which looked great. The river area where you walked looked so peaceful with the singing birds that woke you up, love that 🙂🐦 That was great and interesting 👍~ Anna
Bore da, Anna! Yes, you can see from the wonderful old architecture what a thriving place it must have been. Great to see them preserving the heritage with brewery/hotel complex. It was definitely a good choice for a wet weekend! 😁 Hope you and Alf are both well👍 Dw i dal yn ymarfer fy Nghymraeg!👍☺
Quite a lovely area to explore! We're in for quite the rain storm for the next couple of days, with warnings of freezing rain on Friday, so it could get quite messy! Always a great watch and drama free! lol Continue to enjoy the adventure!
Hi Bruce & Otis. It has been lovely over here this week. Typical that it never seems to sync up with weekends away! 😂 Hope your weather doesn't turn out too bad!👍
Hi there. Just catching up. Interesting to see the hotel where the jet engine deal was arranged, When visited Rugby on our River Avon trip we saw the Frank Whittle sculpture, celebrating the construction of the first prototype at a factory in the town. 👍😀
Ah that's an interesting bit of information. I was wondering about the geography of that meeting, but I guess it was just convenient for the two men wherever they were at that time during WW2. Hope you're both keeping well. Al the best👍☺
Hi Des, Clitheroe's a nice place, great base for exploring Pendle Hill and the Forest of Bowland 😀 I think I've been in that Ale House, on the main street in the town. Like the look of the converted mill as the brewery 🍺 All the best 👍
Hi Patrick. Pendle Hill had a nice cap of snow that weekend. Looked very impressive. It would make a great walk from Clitheroe, but maybe in better weather! 😁 Anyway, those pubs kept us busy. The Bowland Brewery is well worth a look👍
A superb brewery there des. They're like Disney attractions nowadays. Ha ha! Great views of the town. Although wet a nice enough weekend it looked. Some sketching too. Nice. All the best. Mark
Hi Mark. They'd really made the whole mill into a tourist attraction, with a trendy hotel, shopping outlet, bowling green etc. Not usually my sort of places, but the beautiful old building and the brewery won me over 😁 All in all, a fun weekend! Anyway, cheers for watching & catch you soon👍
Hi Chris. Yes, some fantastic old buildings. Took a few snaps to work up into future sketches! I tried the Hen Harrier. Really good, but the Bowland IPA was my winner👌😁
You guys have gotten a lot of rain. Nice campsite and town. Looks like y’all located a great pub/brewery. 😂. The footpath along the river was lovely. The views were perfect.
Hi Bill & DeAnna. It has been such a wet winter! But you just have to try and get out and enjoy it as much as you can. The brewery di help! 😁 We're off to Spain for a couple of weeks soon, so hopefully that will get us a bit of sun 🤞 Hope you are both keeping well👍☺
Hi Simon. We'll have to go back for the delights of Pendle Hill, but on a lousy weekend the bars were some recompense! 😁 Hope all is well with you! ATB👍☺
To many of those horrible days going on all over the UK and the forecast for the next two weeks is not much better. Thank goodness for the Ale House and I hope The Rolling Stones do not get you a copywrite strike! At least the rain stopped for a bit so you could get out, cannot believe we are into March now and I have only been to the lakes twice this year for a climb. Cheers Alan
Hi Alan. It's been miserable hasn't it? I know you can dress appropriately etc, but I'm still looking forward to some better weather! Off to Spain at the end of the week, so fingers crossed that will trigger a UK heatwave 😁 I've never had a strike for a few seconds of background music yet, but you never know. Difficult to avoid it sometimes! All the best & catch you son👍
Have a great day
Cheers Dave. You too👍
Gut gemacht, gefällt mir, vielen Dank 👍 Anne und Siggi 🎹🔔❤️
Danke sehr, Siggi & Marianne!👍😁

Thanks for watching, Dave & Diane! Hope you're both keeping well👍☺
Wonderful place to spend a weekend...the bar in the old mill looks good

Lovely view, it reminds me of a place I visited in Bath
It's probably not quite as elegant as Bath 😁 but a nice old mill town to visit. Cheers for watching👍

Catching up after our trip. My Uncle lived there but I was to young to explore the pubs LOL.
Ah interesting! You'll have to make a pilgrimage some time to put that right 😁
