If this was purely for entertainment value I do not think they would add that level of detail to her work. Not do I think an unskilled actress could pull it off convincingly.

The look on her face was priceless like OH BOY I think I can fix this fingers strumming on top. Says it all hum... My dad built a welder out of a sheet of tin and some copper wire wished he had of been around to teach me to do things he could of done. She's living a dream doing the things she does. I now see what he used the sheet of tin for it was for the magnetic core of the welder.
The more junkish crap she is mastering to renovate, the more beautiful her hands look. It proves her skills, not only being able to fulfil this, as it looks for others, like me, hopeless project, but also without hurting her hands. I would have got at least seven scars on each hand 😢

Very difficult! After unpacking, first remove the many individual iron cores. Then the unwinding of the primary and secondary windings from the transformer. But the hard work has paid off. As always, a great video! Keep it up, I always look forward to new videos!

@@n1jrm It is commonly wrongly called cold welding more aptly called stitch/ intermittent welding. It is the way to weld thinner material without blowing holes, over heating or distorting the material which is easy to do running a continuous bead with an AC buzzbox and more so using DC (penetrates deeper). It just shows how knowledgeable she is at welding.
This kind of spot welding is only good for very thin sheet metal, like when you are doing bodywork on a car to prevent warping. Welding thick metal like this is an absolute no no, it's doomed to fail because you get no penetration.

You do amazing work with the simple tools that you have! I am coming to the end of my life and I have tool boxes and cabinets with every tool that you would ever need and I wish that I were able to give them to you. However, getting them from UK to China would not be easy.
Lin doesn't need tool's !!! Lin has a garage with all kind of power tool's, Lin is a college graduate with an engineering degree with a major in Hydro Power Generation the video's are made to show her skill with basic tools not fancy tools and Lin is not poor her income from her video's is over 4500 U S $ a Month she is in the video business she doesn't run a repair shop and she's has the highest income in the village, she does one video a week and for tool companies or clothing companies people ask why don't they sponsor her it's simple the Chinese communist party doesn't allow non Chinese co.to do it so she has to be careful and not get shutdown.
You know...there is something satisfying watching her do some of the repair work. Like when she was removing the rectangular plates with the pliers one by one successfully.

I've never seen a welder re-wired before. You do good work as an electrical fitter (motor re-winder), or, as they're classed in Aus. I noticed you changed the gauge of wire for the top half. I doubt others would do that without a good understanding of what they're doing. Nice Job. I'm still sad that mother gave away my welder, about 3 times that size, when I was too sick to care. It did need a little TLC (tender loving care), but I was not in good health at the time and my mind was foggy, to an uncle that was only going to scrap it, for another flight to the Philippines, to see his 'wife'. I was a licensed electrical fitter/mechanic, so could work on either wiring a house/factory or rewinding a motor. Not that I ever did much re-winding. I'm sad that my health failed and had to give it up. I just couldn't work anymore.

for instance I was wondering about the stack of corroded metal plates, how did she fix these, a bath of acid or rust remover? Lot of work to sand them. Or maybe just replaced.

I get the impression she not the theoretical type . She measures the gauge of the wire and counts the turns. Theory is useless if you haven't the common sense and practical know how.
A tip when cutting sheet metal with a cut-off wheel, cut in the direction of blade rotation, not against as with cutting wood. You'll be able to see your layout line while cutting and the real plus, if the wheel catches or binds, it will put away from you with less violence.

The look on her face was priceless like OH BOY I think I can fix this fingers strumming on top. Says it all hum... My dad built a welder out of a sheet of tin and some copper wire wished he had of been around to teach me to do things he could of done. She's living a dream doing the things she does. I now see what he used the sheet of tin for it was for the magnetic core of the welder.

Very difficult! After unpacking, first remove the many individual iron cores. Then the unwinding of the primary and secondary windings from the transformer. But the hard work has paid off. As always, a great video! Keep it up, I always look forward to new videos!

I have never seen any one weld like this , I would lay a continuous bead but she lays a line of spot welds .

@@n1jrm It is commonly wrongly called cold welding more aptly called stitch/ intermittent welding. It is the way to weld thinner material without blowing holes, over heating or distorting the material which is easy to do running a continuous bead with an AC buzzbox and more so using DC (penetrates deeper). It just shows how knowledgeable she is at welding.

This kind of spot welding is only good for very thin sheet metal, like when you are doing bodywork on a car to prevent warping. Welding thick metal like this is an absolute no no, it's doomed to fail because you get no penetration.

I am coming to the end of my life and I have tool boxes and cabinets with every tool that you would ever need and I wish that I were able to give them to you. However, getting them from UK to China would not be easy.

she does seem to have a access to what she needs particularly to some spares which I think would be difficult to get here in the uk.
Lin doesn't need tool's !!! Lin has a garage with all kind of power tool's, Lin is a college graduate with an engineering degree with a major in Hydro Power Generation the video's are made to show her skill with basic tools not fancy tools and Lin is not poor her income from her video's is over 4500 U S $ a Month she is in the video business she doesn't run a repair shop and she's has the highest income in the village, she does one video a week and for tool companies or clothing companies people ask why don't they sponsor her it's simple the Chinese communist party doesn't allow non Chinese co.to do it so she has to be careful and not get shutdown.

Some people have a personal interest in engineering type of tasks. Some get experience from an early age on how to do the work. This fine young lady has the knowledge and skill to do the work, and the mind for learning more along the way. You are right Lin always wanted to work on things so as a young girl she would help the best tradesmen in the village brickwork, cement, electrical, carpentry, machine repair the after highschool Lin went to college and graduated with an engineering degree, yes the little mountain village girl has a major in Hydro Power Generation Lin is not poor her video's are made using basic tool's to show her abilities and her strength to handle the machinery her brother is her only employee and she has a really good income from her video's.

I've never seen a welder re-wired before.
You do good work as an electrical fitter (motor re-winder), or, as they're classed in Aus. I noticed you changed the gauge of wire for the top half. I doubt others would do that without a good understanding of what they're doing.

I'm still sad that mother gave away my welder, about 3 times that size, when I was too sick to care. It did need a little TLC (tender loving care), but I was not in good health at the time and my mind was foggy, to an uncle that was only going to scrap it, for another flight to the Philippines, to see his 'wife'.
I was a licensed electrical fitter/mechanic, so could work on either wiring a house/factory or rewinding a motor. Not that I ever did much re-winding. I'm sad that my health failed and had to give it up. I just couldn't work anymore.

for instance I was wondering about the stack of corroded metal plates, how did she fix these, a bath of acid or rust remover? Lot of work to sand them. Or maybe just replaced.
@@steinbauge4591 The lamination's have to be coated so that they actually don't conduct to each other and each has a separate magnetic field unlike a solid piece would have..
I get the impression she not the theoretical type . She measures the gauge of the wire and counts the turns. Theory is useless if you haven't the common sense and practical know how.

A tip when cutting sheet metal with a cut-off wheel, cut in the direction of blade rotation, not against as with cutting wood. You'll be able to see your layout line while cutting and the real plus, if the wheel catches or binds, it will put away from you with less violence.
