Loss at Illinois? 😂😂😂. Their last games were vs: Purdue, Rutgers, Michigan state, Iowa, Northwestern. (Bowl game Cal). I would HOPE their defense improved when you finish your season vs those offensive powerhouses.
The #1 story for Kansas this year will be obvious: Can Jalon Daniels stay healthy all season long? If he goes down to injury again, Kansas will be in some trouble. They'll need to start looking for a permanent QB1 to replace Daniels if he goes out again. This has been the story the last 2 years. If Daniels stays healthy, I see great things for Kansas this year. Something like 10-2 and well in contention for the Big XII Championship.
They've got him. Isaiah Marshall had an offer from Michigan in 7th grade. He backed it up by becoming a state champion and Michigan player of the year. Being only 6 feet tall limited his interest from some programs, but his playing style is very similar to Daniels. Hopefully, they can sneak in a redshirt for him.
If there ever was a year to do it, this surely would be the year. The future holds a lot of unknown, but hard to see them having a more talented team than they have right now
The main concern for Kansas is Jalon Daniels staying healthy because without him I don’t see 9 or 10 wins for Kansas. Also Kansas doesn’t have a backup like Jason Bean from last year in terms of experience. Another thing Jeff Grimes is a terrible play caller. The defense does need to improve some. I could see 9-10 wins at best for Kansas if everything goes right. At worst have 6-6 or 7-5. Baylor hasn’t lost to Kansas since 2007, but it has only been 13 meetings since then. Even a winless Baylor team in 2017 at the time beat Kansas at Kansas. Also believe it or not Kansas hasn’t won in Waco. Granted we will see what happens but like you said you wouldn’t be shocked if they lost to Baylor or a 4th game in general.
I have them going 11-1 only losing by a field goal to Kansas state and winning the big xii and making the cfp
8-5 Bowl win

10-2 (7-2) losses to West Virginia and Kansas State
Do you think Kansas will ever make the CFP under lance? Yes or no?
