One thing to remember is that going from not having made a game to having made a game is a lot of work. Whoever made this game did that work, a feat I have never accomplished. Also, the main glitch is inherited from the engine.
Unity dev here. No, it isn't "inherited from the engine". You can very easily disallow inputs in a menu, or any other state. It's a bug in the game, the engine handles the actual input. The developer handles what happens when that input is pressed, which in this case should be "check if we're paused or in any other invalid state" before "apply momentum to the player GameObject".
Oh no, this game was made in 2 days. The developers were the #1 contributor of shovelware in steams history. In a year and a half they released 200+ games, all while ban evading.
