I was very interested in the Iron 883, but saw an ad at a Harley Dealer for a 2014 Super Low. It only had 1,700 miles on it and about a grand in accessories plus a great price. Wound up buying a new 2016 Super Low instead because my bride liked the color....real retro and discounted 15 hundred. So far, so good. Good video Bro!

I'm surprised what you said about the . I was expecting to possibly end up upgrading lighting but don't need to as I was surprised at how good the brights are. Mine is a '16...

I keep my RPM meter up all the time on my Iron! You're right it is addictive.
What is the lowest RPM's do you go before downshift ? Like 2300 below seems to start to lug out a bit !! Just curious of your take on the shifts ??
I generally up shift at 3000.... or there about! General rule of thumb, approximately,
    (20 mph 2nd, 30 mph 3rd, 40 mph 4th, 50 mph plus, 5th cruising gear).
Do you have a vid showing how you adjusted gear shifter and the shocks ?
That would be nice to see!
I was told at Harley, to use BLUE LOCTITE on the gear shift hex bolt after adjustment of gear shifter. Just to make sure of no back out due to vibration.
I need to adjust mine. New boots are taller toe and I'm really having to point down to get under to shift up the scale.
Nice vid, beautiful country there !!!

I have a habit of downshifting around 2500 and upshift 3200 and yes the blue loctite i actually forgot to mention that ill work on getting 1 for the shocks its pretty basic too i actually just readjusted them today for a ride

I'm considering buying an Iron. I've had a range of bikes from dual sports, sport bikes, and now a Honda Magna. I've taken the Iron out on a few test rides....i even borrowed a Low Rider for a few months and still prefer the Iron. Anything i should look specifically for when buying an iron (most likely will be a used bike)?
Looking to put clip-ons, bikini fairing, and maybe rear sets on it.

theese motors are some of the best built they should last you a good 100k miles before even needing a rebuild, i know a guy who has 185k miles on his and still going so they are meant to take a beating, as for buying used there really isnt much you should be sware of aside from any upgrades they may have done to it and possibly voiding specific parts of the warranty so unless he has done mods to it himself get on it and ride brother.

That Bearded Guy 420 10-4. Buying a Harley is a big leap to find out if I like it in the long run. If I can score a good deal I think I'll pull the trigger.

I love the comfort of my '16 883 seat. It's just ugly! am I willing to give up a bit of comfort for style? not sure yet.
I keep my display on my trip so I know how much fuel I have used.

I bought a new Roadster last August but I would expect most of the feel to be similar to your 883. Really enjoyed your video. What part of the country are you located? The terrain reminds me of SE Ohio where I took a nice trip last year. Keep up the good work.

Why isn't your wife riding some? I think she should drive it some and that way she will appreciate the mods more and gain some experience. Good evaluation!
