@@PaulWasabii I won't! But I doubt I'll come back to discord, will probably delete it soon enough :) life has been treating me well, and for me, the less social media the better :) Take care!
Thanks for your valued take on this massively intriguing set Paul... TDM's review last year along with Michael's recent vid secured a spot for it within my top-tier 'dream' list along with Twilight and a couple others... So cool (for a fellow Canadian) that this set was also created by a fellow Canucklehead ! Cheers.
Indeed. This is set is 100% Michael, I have a 80% or so score due to my fondness for popular music. I think everyone mentioned the source pickiness or chameleon on genres, but for me, it was music that mattered the most. It reflects resolving sources as you would expect, but consider your playlist and Michael hit a lot of them.
I never heard Supernova, but Plunge is more of a unicorn specialist on mids. Supernova is going to be closer to generally appealing, probably works for the majority of people. Plunge is not like that as it was designed for professionals so it has a bias towards the middle. Kinda why I said pop music is harder, that would be much better on Supernova with its V-shaped sound.
I have an all BA set that works on hard/metal well - AFUL MagicOne. It does have a slight sub boost. The more I am in the hobby, the less I crave for bass.
Plunge gets around the single full-range BA difficulty. And he used customized BAs. AFUL has some magic as well, not in the same mid-centric way, but cool set.
Woah that is very interesting tuning! Very intrigued what that would sound like with some of the music I listen to. How are they with more shoegazey rock?
I failed mostly at predicting music that works. It is very different. it tends to invert what you are used to, especially if that is V-ish. On the other hand, the farther away you get from bassy pop music, the more it tends to shine. But yeah, its really unique.
@@PaulWasabii definitely too expensive for me to ever purchase as an experiment! Hope somebody in Chifi would be crazy enough to go for something similar at a more palatable price point 😅
This is intriguing me very much but it'll be hard for me to acquire this outside of Canada. I have the Noble K10u (acrylic) and I thought I was at the end game (for me anyways) but I want to get this as it looks like it'll be a great fit for the type of music I listen to.
It is a very interesting one and they have a hybrid coming out too. The hardest part is the set is very unique , really hard to figure out if it will be a match for anyone
That is going to be hard. Airpods Pro still have some boost at either end, more consumer friendly. Plunge is more of a specialist where you have to have some idea that you want a midcentric set. Yeah, that is tough as Plunge is very unique. You aren't going to find many comparisons like that as it was tuned for professionals vs consumers
@@PaulWasabii Fair enough - from what I know Airpod Pros are actually some of the better neutral, mid-focused IEMs available rn for the price. Interesting how its popular among consumers, but less popular of a sound signature among enthusiasts. I've tried the Plunge and they were jarring for me due to the lack of emphasis on bass/treble, but I could see it being useful for musicians!
Just received mine a few days ago. Seems like they are now selling it with a different cable... A copper cable rather than silver plated copper. It would be good to know the reason for the change and sonic changes as a result
Interesting. That was a loaner set so I didn't look much in to their cable selections. I didn't even try to swap cables, not in the mood to accidentally bend the connector on a friend's set.
Thanks Paul, we appreciate the review!
Looking forward to what you do next. Thank you for an amazing and unique one with Unity
Number 1 plunge shill here and I approve of this message :)
Thank you Jonny. Miss you, don't forget about us

Spot on review Paul.
Happy both you and Michael enjoyed the opportunity to take them for a spin. 👍🏽
Thank you
Excellent review Paul!
Great review. Thanks.
Hello Paul, excellent review! Just wondering how do they compare to 7th acoustics supernova?

Wasabii? You are of Japanese heritage, Paul?
I've never heard of a Wasabii surname in Japan.
No long story for another day.
