Charles Barkley inside the 3-pointline scored pretty the same amout of points per game but close to 60% fg for his whole 16 year career. He is easily the best scoring PF ever. Take away the threes made and attempted and this is what happened for Barkley inside the 3-pointline: 21.6 PPG on 58.13% Two-Point FG% taking ONLY 12.9 Two-Point FG Attempts for 16 years. In his play-off career he scored and shot this inside the 3-pointline: 22.5 PPG on 55.13% Two-Point FG% taking ONLY 14.5 Two-Point FG Attempts. Barkley did not play with McHale, Parish and DJ passing him the ball or taking away the pressure as a scorer and never had an unselfish point guard like Stockton designing his scoring. Nor he had Ginoboli or Parker to get his points. Those stats also include injured, old and overweight Barkley with Houston. In his prime Charles Barkley is easily the greatest mix of scoring, ballhandling, skills, rebounding and passing the PF spot has ever had. He ranks 2nd to Duncan only cause of rings and better rim protection despite the fact Charles was only 6'4 and 5/8th Feet Tall (weighed around 250-60 in his prime). Charles is the GOAT Offensive PF! and 2nd to Duncan as an All Time Great PF..

He played with Mo Cheeks for 5 years(hof) and then Kevin Johnson who played for 11 years and averaged over 9 assist for his career. So he did play with good pgs. Never had a legitimate second star until he was past his prime.

He had explosiveness, supreme rebounding instincts, absurd court vision for a power forward, an underrated outside shot that kept the defense honest, ice water in his veins and a Warrior's mentality. His Suns pushed Jordan's Bulls the most they were pushed in the 90s. If only he got a ring. He more than deserved it.
I am glad you mentioned his outside shot. He is highly inefficient as a 3pt shooter, but I would trust Chuck, game on the line, 10 out of 10 times with a jump shot from 20 ft in.
Chuck is my all time favorite player to watch play. So exciting! Watching Hakeem go up for a dunk & Chuck goes up , both from a near stand still....& Chuck blocks it. Its plays like that... ya just never know what he was gonna do! So explosive! Great vid !
Barkley is definitely underrated by this generation's fans. The guy was 6'5 and one of the most dominant post players EVER! Great handle for a power forward too. A quintessential Barkley play is he gets the rebound (Did we mention he was a great rebounder too--At 6'5!!), dribbles behind his back and takes it the length of the floor for the slam. During those plays there was always the "Lone Defender Moment Of Truth" moment. The defender would consider taking the charge, then decide, "Nah, I'd kinda like to keep a working liver the rest of my life..." and subtly step aside. Shaq is literally a ring chaser and only dunks and you can easily hack him. Sir Charles is a real NBA legend who can actually dominate the game with pure talent.
@michael lee Barkley had champions in Moses, Dr J, for a bit. Then he went to a Phoenix team that was already elite or just under elite. KJ, Majerle, Chambers, Ceballos, West, were winning 53 + games easy. Then Barkley came got them 62, 56, 59, 41. He had his opportunities. Michael outshined him in the finals in 93. Then Barkley let Olajuwon outplay him in 94 and 95. Barkley was also outplayed by Terry Cummings in 86. Barkley could have been the difference for a few of his best teams he played for. And he didn't have a starving career for talent around him. Most of his career actually he found himself playing with stars and legends and they just never won it all. Barkley played with Olajuwon, Drexler, Pippen, Dr J, Moses, Toney, Cheeks, KJ, Chambers, Ceballos, Majerle, Ainge. He has zero rings. He deserves some blame as well as Bird, Jordan, Hakeem deserve alot of credit for outperforming him. Cummings and the Bucks too or Malone and the Jazz in 97 and 98.
I grew up in Phoenix and watched that 93 finals series. Barkley was exactly as good as I think he was. We still have Barkley street signs 15 feet up in the air because people would steal them.
Jonny Arnett -NBA TH-camr I’ve been saying he’s the best player in NBA history to never win a championship ring for a long time #50greatestnbaplayers #charlesbarkley
I feel like he was the Allen Iverson of the 90s, dragged a relatively mediocre team (By comparison to teams like the Bulls, Lakers, Celtics, Rockets and Jazz) to the finals largely by himself.
The Suns pre Barkley was still very good. They had 54, 55 and 53 Wins and went to WCF in 89-90! With Barkley they became a lot like the Warriors in 2015-2017 with almost the same offensive rating! They had a better offensive rating than the Bulls who they met in the finals!

Young people would appreciate Chuck more if he let 2K put him in the game! It's all fun and games until you've got a 6ft 4 275lb 97 rated PF with handles, speed, and unreal hops scooping up rebounds and slamming it down on you all day.
Agree with your observation.. the most chance barkley would have won tge title was with the Suns but KJ is mostly injured and Manning had ACL in 1995... so basically Barkley is carrying his team all by himself
Charles DID play with Moses Malone at the tail end of Moses’ prime, but that was only for his first two seasons. The Sixers could have been up there with the Celtics & Lakers during Chuck’s prime if Sixers owner Harold Katz hadn’t insisted on having the FO trade Moses & Brad Daugherty (who they’d just selected with the number one pick in ‘86) to Cleveland & Washington for scraps & a bag of stale chips. There was a stretch of a during the 1987 All-Star game where when the East was running Barkley, Moses & Daugherty at the same time. Moses, unfortunately, was a Washington Bullet at this time & Brad was a Cleveland Cavalier. God I hated Harold Katz…
For me 92-93 was the pinnacle of Michael Jordan's talent... That MJ was unbeatable by any player in any generation in the history of NBA... 92-93 MJ is simply AMAZING & UNBELIEVABLE.
I know u said "out of the top 50 scorers of all time" but would like to know if its top 50 in terms of points per game or points throughout a career. i understand theres gon be a huge overlap there and its kind of semantics at this point (not that i particularly care, but just curious is all)
This why Phoenix was close, but KJ although good, was no Pippen. Chuck Never has a legit superstar with him that was in their prime. He had old Malone and Dr. J when he was young, he had Akeem when they were all old. Jordan had Pippen, Shaq had Kobe, Bird had McHale, Lebron had everyone. This is why I don't attach rings to the GOAT conversation.
If Chuck (in his prime) had played with another legit superstar on his team in his prime also he would have had titles and been in the conversation as GOAT. He played with Akeem when they were all old and when was a young rookie Malone, Dr. J were old. You back out his 3 point fg attempts, he was second all time in 2 pt fg%. He gets dissed for his D at times, but there is no better defense than grabbing offensive rebounds. Jordan had another superstar with him, Bird did, Magic did, Lebron does--Chuck did not--Karl Malone had Stockton himself.
And this is why Draymond Green needs to shut his mouth about winning a chip everyone knows he's just a role player that plays in a great team with system that make him look better than he actually is. Without Klay and Curry he'll probably be playing in the G-league or even out of the nba with his single triple double bullshit he has.
I was a big time Sixers fan ever since they picked up Dr. J. But when Charles finally left after never having ANY support I quit rooting for them. What a waste.
Nah, I'm not saying they're wack in this video... I'm just saying that its not like he had a young Kobe or D-Wade to help him. He had TONS of talent to back him up, but Shaq simply had more, and that was the point I was trying to make. If Chuck has as much help as Shaq had throughout his career, theres no doubt in my mind that Chuck would have a ring too
@@jonnyarnett Basketball is a team game. While Barkley wasn't half the force Shaq was, it's definitely possible that he'd of won a title if he had other HoF players the way Jordan did... Problem is, you can't compare the teams Jordan beat in the finals to the teams Kobe, LeBron, Duncan, or Durant beat. That Suns team would've NEVER made it out the west in the last 20 years. Same goes for the Sonics and Blazers. I was Shawn Kemp's biggest fan growing up, but he's not even better than Blake Griffin. In general, there's just a lot more talent in the NBA now than there was before.
Yeah Shaq is a broken record with throwing the Rings at Chuck. Like Chuck hasn't heard that millions of times by now, I love you Shaq, but get some new material.
shaq always had so stacked teams... eddie jones, glen rice , elden campell , robert horry, cedric ceballos, jerome kersey, george mccloude, nick van exel, byron scott, rick fox, dennis rodman, derek harper, gary payton, karl malone, derek fisher,ac green, ron harper, horace grant, mitch richmond...kust to name a few on his lakers team...
Barkley better than Malone is what he was saying...because Malone had Stockton. At no point did he say Barkly by himself was better than both Malone and Stockton...just better than Malone. Malone was also damn near 6'10".
Mate you're another dude who's putting those "stats in pedestal". Saying that Barkley's mvp was majorly because of team success is ignorant as NBA basketball is all about winning as a team. If you can't make your team win games it doesn't matter what your individual stats were you re not that great empty stats . A guy who's average 18 points per game and led his team in finals is still way better than a guy who's average 30 points per game in season but can only make it to the first round worst can't even make a playoff.
Kobe wasn't NEARLY as good in the Finals as you're suggesting here when talking about Shaq. Here's Kobe's numbers in the 3 Finals wins and never was he at 30ppg: 2000 - 15ppg on 37% shooting 2001 - 25ppg on 42% shooting 2002 - 27ppg on 51% shooting That 2002 is the only great one. The first was utter trash, the second was okay but not nearly enough to win on its own. And 2003, when the Lakers started losing, that's when Kobe started trying to take over and would shoot the Lakers out of the playoffs two years in a row: 2003 - Kobe, 32ppg on 43% shooting, 159 shots... Shaq, 25ppg on 56% shooting, 102 shots 2004 - Kobe, 23ppg on 38% shooting, 113 shots... Shaq, 27ppg on 63% shooting, 84 shots When the Lakers won, it was because they were running everything through Shaq. When the Lakers lost, it was because Kobe shot them out of the series with inefficient shooting and not giving the ball to the big man.

Yes. Malone and Dunkin would foul out in 15 minutes trying to guard Chuck in his prime, he had too many skills.

I watched Barkley in college, a 6'4" center at 290 pounds dominate the twin towers Sam Bowie and Melvin Turpin when Auburn Played Kentucky.

You make a good but in the 80”s you had the lakers/Celtics/pistons and in the 90”s had a good team just ran in Michael Jordan and he owned the 90”s
Chuck changed the game before KG did and if you watched chuck in his prime he was serious business he never had a Kobe, pippen, or wade.
Hell yeah his prime u couldnt fuck with him . He will eat all this guy in this era
You know who else coincided with Charles Barkleys prime? Michael Jordan. No super team is getting passed him.
Barkley’s defense though?!?!?
14th like for you
6 feet 4 and 1 quarter inches.
I would take Barkley over Malone.
Charles said John made Karl what he was…
That's true though
And this is why Draymond Green needs to shut his mouth about winning a chip everyone knows he's just a role player that plays in a great team with system that make him look better than he actually is. Without Klay and Curry he'll probably be playing in the G-league or even out of the nba with his single triple double bullshit he has.
I was a big time Sixers fan ever since they picked up Dr. J. But when Charles finally left after never having ANY support I quit rooting for them. What a waste.
I did the SAME THING, Harold Katz (team owner back then) was a idiot
Charles was better than Malone. It's not even close if you keeping it real.
Yes, Malone had Stockton and he could not create his own offense like Chuck who could go coast to coast.
In your most recent video you argue that Barkley's suns were stacked. Now you're saying that they were wack. Can't have it both ways.
He couldn’t win mvp’s year after year cuz Jordan was there with better numbers and actually winning so he got those MVP’s
Charles confuses opponents.
Who the f dislikes this kind of vids?
Fake fans be like” he doesn’t have a championship”🤓
Yeah Shaq is a broken record with throwing the Rings at Chuck. Like Chuck hasn't heard that millions of times by now, I love you Shaq, but get some new material.
He was really better. But no chip! That's just the way it has been.
shaq always had so stacked teams... eddie jones, glen rice , elden campell , robert horry, cedric ceballos, jerome kersey, george mccloude, nick van exel, byron scott, rick fox, dennis rodman, derek harper, gary payton, karl malone, derek fisher,ac green, ron harper, horace grant, mitch richmond...kust to name a few on his lakers team...
Steve Nash has a better case for goat to never win a championship than Allen Iverson
I don't think Dwayne Wade could have "litterally" carried Shaq on his back let alone the whole team...
His a Better player like Pierce But Trash and Bias Analyst 😂
Barkley better than Malone and Stockton??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Greatest player to never win championship is iverson
Kobe wasn't NEARLY as good in the Finals as you're suggesting here when talking about Shaq. Here's Kobe's numbers in the 3 Finals wins and never was he at 30ppg:
2000 - 15ppg on 37% shooting
2001 - 25ppg on 42% shooting
2002 - 27ppg on 51% shooting
That 2002 is the only great one. The first was utter trash, the second was okay but not nearly enough to win on its own. And 2003, when the Lakers started losing, that's when Kobe started trying to take over and would shoot the Lakers out of the playoffs two years in a row:
2003 - Kobe, 32ppg on 43% shooting, 159 shots... Shaq, 25ppg on 56% shooting, 102 shots
2004 - Kobe, 23ppg on 38% shooting, 113 shots... Shaq, 27ppg on 63% shooting, 84 shots
When the Lakers won, it was because they were running everything through Shaq. When the Lakers lost, it was because Kobe shot them out of the series with inefficient shooting and not giving the ball to the big man.
