David Crosby,Steven Stills, and Graham Nash-- individually, they're all great vocalists, but when the come together they produce some of the most perfect harmonies ever recorded.

      Agree.
If you like Harmony's here's a band that's currently doing it VERY Well in case you haven't heard them
Recommendation: This group will really blow you away. Honestly. You will be amazed. When they do a cover of another group they do it better than the original in many cases. Why do I think they are so cool... No instruments other than their voices.

The days of the acoustic guitar...We had a group of 5 or 6 that would get together in a park or beach and start playing and soon there were girls everywhere. We couldn't sing like these guys, but you didn't have to. Mix in early Eagles, some Cat Stevens or Jim Croce and Paul Simon and you could play for hours. I miss those days and some of the guys are no longer on this earth, but they are with me and in my head I can always go back there when I hear songs like this.

This song is truly epic musical journey... So many textures and layers. It doesn't need to be louder, close your eyes as you mentioned, and your focus will become louder. These guys were tight musically because they jammed all the time. Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills is where the musicians of that heyday communed; Joni Mitchell, Jim Morrison, the Mama's & the Papa's, the parties they had would birth new songs and impromptu concerts. For more CSN, checkout Carry On, Teach Your Children, Woodstock (Joni Mitchell's composition), Guinnevere, Just a Song Before I Go... You'll be mesmerized by the harmonies!

Listening to these songs through reactors like you just makes me so incredibly grateful that I was raised on the music I was raised on, because I used to wonder if maybe it was just that brain trick we have where we all think the music we fell in love with in that period of our lives is better because we have the emotional connection or whatever... but based on everybody's reactions it's just really objectively amazing stuff and I'm grateful that I got to grow up on it. One of my top 10 albums to listen to in the 70’s I love Stephen Stills voice, hell of a guitar player as well !!!!! I’m almost crying now, bringing back some really good, and sad times as well !! Enjoy my friend!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

All of their previous bands were three part harmony groups. Crosby, from The Byrds, Stills, from Buffalo Springfield (with Neil Young), and Nash, with The Hollies. Well worth checking them all out.

Daniel Storm hey, still cool now! We were there when ‘it’ happened....we grew up with amazing music and the lyrics meant something -love songs, break up songs, and POLITICAL songs.... a helluva a generation

Wooden Ships is a tune you should react to. It has it all, great musicianship and fantastic harmonies . As you all say these days this song is a banger.

The song is about Judy Collins. Collins does an unforgettable version of Amazing Grace. No embellished over singing. The no chorus version is my fave. She sounds like an angel.

David Gilmour wrote a song called on an island which is a phenomenal David Gilmour song but Crosby Stills saying the backup vocals for it and it's quite exquisite

Stephen Stills (the guy in the middle) sings lead and plays the instruments on this. Nash and Crosby added their harmonies after. Written for Judy Collins (Stills' girlfriend at the time).

One of my favorite songs by David Crosby and Graham Nash came a little later (1971), "Immigration Man" from their eponymous album.

This amazing vocals what today's pop music is missing, back then there were 3-4 people singing(CSNY, Queen, The Mamas and the Papas and so on) I like "Our House" from Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Great album, among many others. Check them out out at their Woodstock performance. It made their career. They were so good together. When Neil Young joined them, they were great too. Thanks for your reactions. Mrs. Ward here.

You are in the Crosby Stills and Nash rabbitt hole. Such an amazing group . Another one from my teens/20s.. music then was so amazing. Substance . That is why I still listen to this stuff now mostly.

Tons more great material......."Helplessly Hoping" "Carry On" "Woodstock" "Wooden Ships" "Teach Your Children" "49 Bye-Byes" it goes on and on....A personal favorite of mine, with a great backstory, is "Our House". When Joni Mitchell was living in Laurel Canyon and Graham Nash was her boyfriend, they went antique shopping one cool, dreary winter day. On the ride home, they discussed maybe just building a fire and staying in the rest of the day. When they got home Graham told Joni that he would gather up some wood, and for her to go on in. They proceeded to sit at the piano and write the song that very afternoon........."I'll light the fire, while you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today......" Great song!

You got it, spot on!!!!! You understand why they slapped the hell out of our ears in the 60s! It’s cool that you have an ear for good music, and it doesn’t have to be tied to what’s hip at the moment, or what’s culturally relevant.

When they played this at Woodstock it was only their second time playing as a group (though they each had well known careers prior to joining up). This was also the song that got me to start taking guitar lessons. (Found out I love music, but the only instrument I should play is the stereo).
