Emma really is, as you say, an inpiration for many people. I mean: hearing a person in her condition sing "It's good to be alive" is absolutely stunning AND special. André Rieu (just turned 75 himself) has told he feels like Emma is like a grand daughter for him. Last week he has announced that Emma will join him and his orchestra in 2025 as well!! Yes, this song must have a lot of meaning for both Emma and him. I hope you will react at other songs from Emma as well, because she has an entire tepertoire by now and most of it is recorded at live performances. Something we must not forget with this song as well: this is LIVE performance. In this case in front of a 12.500 audience.

The most recent news: thanks to André Rieu, Emma will have her own concert on 21 October 2025 in the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam. Within 3 hours(!) after a very excited Emma announced this on 25 October on national tv here in the Netherlands it already was sold out....
There's a beautiful backstory to this as well: Emma told you about the composer who was there in the audience as well... but she didn't say that this is not a new song, actually the guy had written the song decades ago, long before Emma was even born, but he knew it would take a very special and gifted singer to bring it to life, and for the longest time he could not find that singer, so he kept it hidden in a drawer for years and years, and only when he heard and saw Emma perform "Voilá" he knew she was the one and offered her the song to perform it with André and his orchestra... But did you realise this concert was a bit special : she‘s back HOME, in her home town of Maastricht (and also the home base of André and the orchestra) where the magic really took off. In the 12500 audience, many come from all over the world, but there are also many „locals“ who have come to see THEIR GIRL, to support her in her fight against adversity, and to revel in her stupendous performance!

We went to the concert of Andre Rieu at Maastricht , right in front of the stage at about 35 meters distance. Just as Emma started singing, an emotional bomb exploded in the square with the song DANCING ON THE STARTS and afterwards VOILA which earned a standing ovation for several minutes. Her beautiful voice touches your soul with the support of the orchestra, an evening to remember for a livetime. Also think that the audience love her mental strength with her illness and don't forget the loss of Emma's girlfriend Angela on May 5, 2023 ( th-cam.com/video/0nIpN86mw6E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qws5Z_xKe4mVi4sc ) for the performances of volia last year

Hey Gracie, before watching your reaction let me send you a link I wanted to send you yesterday but then forgot to do so: I remember you saying you're completely satisfied when listening to RAYE talking, she didn't even need to sing for you... and I know what you mean, even har talking voice is very musical, she just breathes music... Now, the video I discovered yesterday was made by the music magazine "The Rolling Stone" and is featuring RAYE on the topic of her smash hit Escapism, she's explaining a lot about the background of the song and how it came to be, demonstrating some of the things she did there, also improvising on piano and vocals...a quarter hour of very interesting details for RAYE fans who want to get an insight into her creative process, very well done... She's such a treasure! (this is for your private pleasure, but I actually discovered it on a reaction channel, so feel free if you want to react too...) It's really very nice to listen to both of her singing and talking...
