I was a night owl my whole life, from the time I was a very young child. I hated mornings, felt horrible and draggy, but I was always wired and energized into the wee hours of the night [as a kid] and all through the night, often past dawn, as an adult. When I developed a health problem that made me feel horrible, I couldn’t wait to go to sleep at night, because I couldn’t feel how awful I felt while I was asleep. As a result, I started waking up early in the morning and something happened I never thought possible: I became a morning person and discovered I loved it!!! Not only that, but there were unexpected positive physical and emotional changes as a result. I’d suffered from extreme depression (bipolar disorder) since I was a teen, but all of a sudden that eased up. I’m not even taking medication for it anymore! I still have times when I feel blue, but it feels NORMAL; I don’t careen up and down wildly and don’t feel like I’ve gone over the edge. I never thought I’d know what normal feels like. My sleep is soooo much better. I’ve never slept so well. I wake up feeling excited and ready to go, having the whole day ahead of me filled with possibility, instead of already being half over. I have a morning ritual that’s very low-key, nothing remarkable, but it feels so calm and soothing that I feel genuinely happy to be awake and alive. As a result, I was able to gradually make other changes that made a vast improvement. I started being mindful of what I ate. I cut way (way, way, way) back on processed foods, added sugar, and caffeine. I was someone who ran almost entirely on sugar and caffeine and I never thought I could even lower them, but now I only drink 2-3 cups if decaf coffee (as opposed to endless cups of caffeinated during all my waking hours) and once I had stopped eating sugary things for just a few days, my sugar cravings went away. Never in a million years did I believe that was possible! I started learning about how the health of every system in our bodies is directly tied to our gut health and began working to rebuild my microbiome. The beneficial results were swift. Because of the changes I was making, my health issues started reversing. I’d heard about that happening for other people, but I was certain it couldn’t happen for me. I wish I’d known about all of this and had made these changes years ago, but I’m glad I at least found out when I did! Now, for the first time in my life, I truly understand what the word “miracle” means, and it’s blown my mind. ☺️

I love your comment for so many reasons! Most people don't realise the amount of inflammation that sugar creates in the body including the brain & nervous system & also how vitally important gut health is to our immune function, brain function & overall health. Good for you, that is so awesome to hear! 🤗

How to make the most of your day: 1.Try to wake up at the same time everyday, at least every week day. 2. Prioritize physical health. 3. Plan your day the night before. 4. Find time for reflection or meditation. 5. Get dressed for the day. 6. Tackle your most important task, first.

I’ve been retired for almost 2 years due to health issues and finding a routine has be difficult. I generally wake up about 6:30 and morning prayers are the first thing of the day before I even get out of bed. After that it totally depends on my pain level but I’m finding if I make myself get up and do things I start to feel better earlier. There are however days when nothing but prayers gets accomplished and I am blessed to have the luxury of allowing my body to just be. Thank you for another awesome video. Blessings to all.

This is totally random, but if anyone has really weird health symptoms and auto immunity stuff, and just can never get down to the bottom of it, test for chronic Lyme disease. Chronic Lyme disease mimics so many things like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, MS, Parkinson’s…The Igenex test is the one that picks it up. I’m finally redeeming my health after weird symptoms for years. I’m getting a new lease on life. God bless.❤🙏

I agree that setting the tone is so important. I also write everything down the day before for the next day, since I don’t want to squander my time wondering and figuring things out that morning. I need a plan. My routine: Get up, make bed, go downstairs to feed cat and to get coffee to bring back up , Bible/ devotions, exercise ( Pilates/ weights/ treadmill ) or run outside if it’s not a go -into- work day. Look over the days agenda , get ready , eat, vitamins, and get on with my day. I like beginning this way because I’ve already accomplished things before I’ve even really started my day. Oh I left one thing off: Mark my “ watch laters” from my TH-cam feed for when I have downtime later. Thanks for the video. 😊

Actually the truth is, the Night before routine ,will have a big impact on how your morning and the rest of the day will be. Our agenda should be :Spend time with God the night before, before you go to sleep. Spend time with God when you get up before your day begins, asking him to go before you and prepare your day. God first in everything, gives us peace, safety, Wisdom and Joy. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Years ago, I had a friend who used to wake up at 6 o'clock. And that would be her time before starting breakfast at 7. A.M.
During that morning, she would have her cup of tea or coffee. And she would get the Bible out. And she would read it, and then she would think about the scripture. She read and meditated on it and asked yourself how that scripture applied to her and how important it was to her family, etc. et cetera. So she would do some prayer as most Christians do. then at 7 she'd wake her children up, and they would have to get dressed make thier bed and wash up while she was making breakfast for the family. I think they had forty-five minutes before they sat down and had the breakfast.
But she was a person who had to stick with her schedule and routine. She said if she didn't, it would off balance her day, and something would suffer.
She put me to shame😅 And she would have a certain day for cleaning her house another day for washing her clothes. Another day for baking and another day for shopping and another day for a fun family day. Etc.
When I first met her, her house was always spotless and always clean. And I thought she was an extremist, but that was not so. I was the one who needed to learn from her. Because I had no real discipline in my life growing up. So everyone has had a different up bringing.
Her mother, was always punctual as well and lived by her schedule. And so Her children followed the example of their mother.
I said to her " How in the world you do this? And she says "see that calendar on the wall, that's what I follow as best as I can.
We're imperfect, and we are not going to have a perfect home, but I know for me what works is I have to have at least one day for laundry, and I will not change that. Because you get so used to that one day it habit forming. it's not something that you question. You just know .
Yes, you have some very good pointers here. And I appreciate your videos, josh. we all need to be encouraging each other Regardless of whether we share different beliefs or not, we are encouraged to respect other nationalities and those who believe different than us. Because if we don't then we're not Is followingwhat jesus said.
Soon we will all live peacefully with one another on this earth worshipping the same god. And living in harmony with one another. There will be no wars. There will be no more pain and suffering as that will be a thing of the past. Have a good day.
    Or night 😀

And my body got used to it and I always wake up exactly at the time that I did when I was young. I never need a alarm clock even when it's winter out. And it's darker my body just automatically wakes up at that time. The only time it hasn't is when my sleep was disturbed In the middle of the night and if I can't get back to sleep , I will try and then I oversleep by one hour. But for the majority of the time , it's always the same as growing up as a kid.

I’m curious what your wife’s morning routine looks like, or yours when you had younger children.

Spilt my coffee this morning. Lol. You just have to take charge of the day either way. (Esp mishaps ya know. And mentally. Can’t let it ruin your whole day).
Number 1. Not exactly an A on that. Prob my worst one Bcuz I don’t often have any outward specific time obligations now. When I had “on the clock” duties…I was better at it. Right now I just focus on getting a proper amount of rest/sleep and regular go to bed and wake up rituals. Listening to my body’s cues more. (Esp with not “pushing” past “go to bed now” tired feelings in the name of “getting more done”). Also, a lot of my life was spent working second shift and prob could say a confirmed night owl.

My friend told me she has protein in her breakfast.
After a high-protein breakfast, your blood sugar can remain low for up to four hours,” says Picano. By contrast, starting the day with refined carbs sends your blood surging-and quickly crashing, leaving you feeling tired and hungry. Protein also keeps you feeling fuller and more satisfied after your morning meal. AND I KNOW you have mentioned that yourself

Unless….. you work a job and don’t blog for a living and have to be to work at 7:45. In the meantime after work it is filled with pets, kids and grandkids. I like to stay motivated but these types of videos are becoming more discouraging all the time. Oh, how I crave for some content makers who live a real life and are
    Real people. 😩

Great video. It’d be refreshing to hear you say “read the Bible,” instead of “do some religious reading.” Since the Bible is the only alive and God inspired book in the universe, it deserves its own place apart from general“religious reading”, which sounds more audience appeasing. It’s also far more personal, authentic and a greater witness of His truth.” 🩵📖✨
