I freeze the entire packet after buying it. Before i need to make patties, i take it out to thaw. When its semi-defrozed, I slice it up without it getting smashed under the pressure of me holding and cutting. The package often has measuring lines on it for that very purpose.
I am trying this tomorrow. It’s in the fridge after taking it out of freezer today. I had two 32 oz of those in freezer and the expiration date is October 2022 hopefully I can still eat it.

I think it taste better out of the oven, than the skillet.
I just put the whole 2lb Jimmy Dean in the oven at 350 for 40 minutes like a meatloaf. I’ll cut it when it comes out….
