That's beautiful and practical. If I may suggest that you place either a plastic sheet or a metal sheet underneath the coop to collect the manure, that way when it comes time to clean, you can just slide it out and replace it with a clean one and then clean the dirty one and have it ready for next time. That will save you tons of backbreaking work cleaning underneath that low to the ground coop. Thanks again for sharing, the dog kennel panel idea is brilliant, and I think I will borrow your idea. Thanks.
This is a very timely question, because we've had temps fluctuating between single digits and high 20's for the past two weeks. The 7-gallon waterer is frozen, so I have two 1-gallon waterers that I swap out with water every morning and every evening. I bring the frozen one back in the house to thaw when I drop the one off with fresh water.
Always fun and informative Mark with your videos. I’m working with my 19 month old GWP and she’s coming along very well. Thanks for sharing from Florida.
great video I have been looking at facebook market place and found many people selling large bird cages for parrots and other birds that are around 50 to 100.00. They are big as your recommended coup for one dog. It will nee a little converting but it is 75% ready to go. Love your video's
@@marklejones9114 And if you use the external feeder and waterer like I did, the birds will have more room and it’ll be more convenient for you to refill/replenish.
Would love to see how you clean the coop. Also, it seems you have food available 24/7. Any trouble with the birds fighting over just two slots for feeding and water?
@@SureHowDoYouKnow The droppings are falling mostly on their own through the 1/2 x 1 inch wire openings. There’s always been a “pecking order” with birds, but with food and water available 24/7, there’s never a need to fight over either. At least I’ve never witnessed any birds fighting over food or water.
@@travisgoatley13 You might already know this, but that’s the chapter that I belong to. The actual activities of the chapter have reduced significantly, and I don’t think there has been an in person meeting for a couple of years now. Even the interest in the three or four fun trials we would put on each year is gone. They have a few dog training days, but no field trials.

GOOD INFOMATION!!!!!!!
Great job on the loft Mark!
Thanks Jimmy, and it's always great to hear from KY's most successful grouse hunter!!!

I love how you broke down each part of the coop design in detail. Thanks for this very helpful content! 😊
Thanks Rose Anne.
@@Payton1221 You're welcome! looking forward for more good videos from you! 🙂
For the water how are you going to keep it from freezing? I’ve used a metal heated base but in really cold temps it couldn’t keep up.

How many pigeons would you recommend starting with as a new trainer . Only having 1 dog. In Northern Minnesota. Can be extremely cold in winter

So basically an old chicken house can be used just a few modifications
