    Bro as soon as you opened a beer on the beach , I hadto pop one open an finished watching the vid. Been watching your journey for a few years now bro mean mahi out there. As a kiwi who’s been living in aus for the past few years, it’s hard to beat our homeland. The land and the sea providing quality at its highest. My misz is always watching makeup & girlflix on TH-cam . While I’m out here reminiscing on Ollie Craig and other dive brothers in our homeland. Stay safe and stay blessed brother 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿

      Hey Jayden, Cheers for the feedback bro. Sure is an incredible piece of turf we have here! very grateful to be able to explore the places where I do, and to share it with guys like you to reminisce over is a cool feeling as I have lived over seas for a few years at a time and know the feeling! Back at you bro. Cheers, Ollie

    Great video mate. The best things in life are free! Like listening to the ocean and staring at a fire. I grew up in NZ and love the outdoors. I live in the UK now, so I don't get to dive for crays at the moment! But thanks for sharing your awesome adventures.

    it's awesome seeing this 2 year old video now in 2024 and then seeing your 2024 side by side. Rocking up with a full sized weber and a big massive camping chair, its so funny, love it. Intreresting to see how you changed your style to be more minimalistic in some regard. I couldn't believe you squeezing out an actually espresso there, but in your more recent videos just powdered instant coffee (which most coffee lovers would scoff at). But then, its all about figuring out your own priorities. Super interesting to watch the changes.

    I used to use a small waste mounted 250x250 catch bag which had elastic entrance. Nice and streamline for freediving.Tied a 20mm off cut of 100mm conduit for measuring. Easy as to measure on breathhold as if pass threw can just let go of it. Best shell i got from that harbour on the north side was 165mm.. Always were nice and fat thier. Ironicaly bigest shell wasnt bigest meat. I would hit first and last day of season as a tradition for years. Dont freedive anymore after long time doing it every week. Got bored and lost interest. Speared a 21.6lb snapz and felt liked a pinnacle and after that was now what. Enjoy watching you full of energy on cool missions. Makes me feel old haha

    • @olliecraig-primalpursuit
      @olliecraig-primalpursuit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, Shit that's a big scallop for there! Definitely bigger and more healthier Scallops on that side for some reason, obviously food and currents helping out perhaps. Yes, it's not the most exiting diving scallops, I only bother if nice and shallow like this spot. Just need to look for bigger things to keep that interest!! maybe a marlin next?? haha. Nah, always an interesting time diving and the exercise sure beats a treadmill.

    Mean video as always bro, out there doing it🙌 Couldnt help but notice the handsfree equalizing on the last scallop drops, any tips on making progress with it? I can't seem to get a strong enough push without holding my nose, extra hands in the water would be a handy thing to have, even on descent

    • @olliecraig-primalpursuit
      @olliecraig-primalpursuit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cheers bro appreciate it. Hey mate, I'm not an expert in that area, but just practice at home even with hand on nose. maybe doa minute or so each day it will help strengthen up those muscles in your ear canal. Look up Valsalva & Frenzel. They are the two techniques used for equalizing one might work better than other for you.

Nz is in a much worse state than people realise. We can definitely turn stuff around just need a better plan

    I did some research and it seems the concern around burning driftwood is the release of dioxins, I also saw that burning *any* wood releases them. Seems its a bit higher with driftwood because of the salt content, but heck Im not about to stop making fires with it. There is a point where you have to wonder how bad this can be if generations before us who didnt have this knowledge were ok after doing this a lot more regularly than us.

    • @olliecraig-primalpursuit
      @olliecraig-primalpursuit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, It's the dioxins. And Agree, it seems everything is toxic these days, so cooking over some driftwood once in a while isn't going to be the end of the world.

      @@olliecraig-primalpursuit my grandparents and their friends started the gated beach next too that beach in the late 1970's. Was all caravans then, now all chalets. My parents and grandparents sold their plots in the late 80's.

    Ollie brought the whole kitchen camping, 🤣. Can't blame you, man. I like confort too. Hey, do me a favor, though. Please stop using those metal tongs on that non-stick pan, bro. Teflon is insanely poisonous, and you're scraping particles right into your food. Much love, keep up the great videos. 👍

      Hey Harley. Keep an eye on My TH-cam (I will do a post on there once launched also). Perhaps turn on notification bell or something? Glad you are enjoying the watch, it's a great quality & simple unit. Otherwise is you want some gear asap, eg before xmas flick me your email and I can get you sorted!

    Finally got Chance to watch it, TH-cam is finally working. Wanted to ask, why aren't you using your ruku blades anymore? Did you get sponsored by seabuck?
    Mainly wanted to know how you felt about the rukus, I wanna get some myself. Currently using plastic cressi modular fins, they do the job, but not as good as fibreglass.

      Rukus are great mate. Just trying out some carbons instead of fibreglass. Can’t have the same gear forever need to try new things
