Psalm 61 - Hope and Help When My Heart is Overwhelmed

- We don’t know the life circumstances which prompted Psalm 61. It does seem to come after David came to the throne.
The beginning of this psalm starts off with David desperately crying out to God with a heart that was fainting and overwhelmed. The song ends with praise, honoring the character of God.

Reminds me of Psalm 91 and John 15:5 -- abiding! Jesus is all over the Old Testament; it's amazing. I love how He is so far above, yet he is so close as to be abiding.
Psalm 61:2 was definitely me a few hours ago after assessing a third grader in phonics for reading tutoring who can’t read😩this is the second one within a few days of each other. The kids are SO embarrassed they start softly crying to themselves because they know they should be reading already.
Today I was like LORD I’m good at what I do, thank you for my purpose but I’m limited, take the limits away your will be done and provide me with what I need to really leverage my phonics for reading nonprofit. I came home with an overwhelmed heart🫤

Lord almighty, every time I think about what is lost, I put my eyes on you in trust you will give me what I need, knowing nothing in the world outweighs what you have to give! Thank you Lord for your mercies, thank you Lord for getting me up my feet again, thank you for your neverfailing love! In accordance with psalm 61, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 I loosen myself, my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ of every overwhelmed heart, while loosening myself of every unequal yoke and common share with those who let their heart be overwhelmed, in accordance with this word and psalm 61, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
