  • Psalm 66 is described as both a Song and a Psalm. This is the first psalm since Psalm 50 to not be attributed to David.
It has not only Israel in view but all the earth. The psalmist understood that God was not only God over Israel, but the whole world. It was good and appropriate for him to call everyone to joyfully praise God.

God showed me through not giving me what I wanted which was a new red truck that he did not want me to see him as a sugar daddy just as you said and that lesson meant more to me than getting the truck cause I knew the lesson was from him and he loved me enough to teach this to me

Verse 2, "Sing praises to his glorious NAME." If you read many versions of the Bible, you will find Gods name has been removed over 7000 times and replaced with titles such as God and Lord etc. Psalms 83:18 for instance in most Bibles states ".... whose name is the Lord " Well this makes no sense because a name isn't Lord because that's a title. But in the New World Translation it has been put back, why? Because, Jehovah, wants you to get close to him and he wants to draw close to you, as he did with Abraham and called him his friend. You cant come to know someone without first knowing their name.
