Nope, they didn't come with it, and actually GM has had it since the late 80's. My '87 350 IROC had it, and it quit working with only 20,000 miles on the car. But it was 17 years old at that time. It was a $700 fix back in 2004.
First, have the alternator checked. If it checks ok, then Check the heavy gauge wiring on your starter. The starter solenoids are prone to heat fatigue and the plastic parts holding the wiring lugs will crack.
Just a piece of exhaust wrap material. I have the entire exhaust heat wrapped from the headers to the mufflers. It will sometimes get snagged on road debris. I just hadn’t fixed it yet when I shot that video.

I have fixed an awful lot of little things. But I tell myself all the time.. it’s still a Chevy. Thanks for watching!
Why are you covering your license plate, lol?
To trigger people to ask why. 😉 Congrats, you’re the first! You win nothing though. Thanks for watching!
Corvetttes have engines not MOTORS
Motor: noun: a machine, especially one powered by electricity or internal combustion, that supplies motive power for a vehicle or for some other device with moving parts. Thanks for watching.
All engines are motors. Not all motors are engines. No big deal. A lot of people get confused.
Pro tip: flammable and inflammable mean the same thing. I learned that real quick at an early age.
Covering the plate...you drive around all day with the plates exposed but now want to cover it on TH-cam? Come on! Think! Plus all the states protect that information.
I did that just to see who would speak up about it. Thanks for watching!
Why cover your license plate? You drive everywhere with that plate exposed to the world but cover it for a video ??
To get people to make this comment. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Never understood why people cover their license plate? You drive everywhere with it in full view of the entire world
In this case I did it to see how many comments it would generate. Thanks for watching!
There is definitely a privacy concern with showing your vehicle and plate number. People with no bad intentions think in the same way as you do about it.
