Thanks for stopping by everyone! TH-cam had a sitewide issue earlier- long story short I had to re-upload this video from this morning. If you watched earlier feel free to drop a comment again for me or if you're a Corvette C6 fan in general. Thanks everyone and sorry for the glitch! Every like and comment helps! 🙌
Bought a 2008 C6 Standard Corvette from Arizona in 2022 and have replaced the cab and engine filters twice, replaced the power steering hoses (they looked like the rust was about to break through the metal lines and get into the fluid), replaced the MXO Six-speed Automatic Transmission drain pan (rusted badly just like the power steering lines were) which automatically replaced trans. oil and filter at the same time the new pan was installed, replaced the differential oil, bled all the brake lines, changed the engine oil pan (leaking), replaced the alternator, idler, belt tension-er, serpentine belt, replaced the front air dam, replaced the wiper blades, had the Gumpy Forged Polished Wheels refurbished, changed all the light bulbs to LED (inside and out), replaced the trunk release switch above the license plate - twice (now I just use my key fob or the switch on the dash to release the rear hatch). The 2nd rear hatch release switch only last about two months before it stopped working, so, I'm done with trying to keep that going! I am confident about driving the car any where while having a - spare serpentine belt, a fix-a-flat can, tire plug system, valve core tool, and a DeWalt air compressor on board for any tire issues, 1 qt of engine oil. Hired my local Dealership to align the vehicle with only the Dr Side frnt needing moved back to factory settings. Invited to drive my Vette around the Indy 500 tack on "Legends Day" the day before the race "2024". It's been a long journey but rewarding one to say the least! I may not be rich, but I do have an amazing Corvette! 😃
That’s fixing a lot of odds and ends, impressive work! I really appreciate the knowledge and feedback here. Being smart about carrying spare equipment like the belt and the air compressor is a solid move. Tires definitely worry me too on longer trips. And getting to drive your C6 around the Indy 500 track? That’s beyond cool. All the effort you’ve put into the car really paid off-what an awesome reward for all the work you’ve done!
@@Mattsboosted I found out that I was the 2nd owner of my 2008. I have been running on 2020 Run Flat tires (P245/40ZR18 (93Y) Pilot Sport A/S3+ (Michelin Pilot All Weather) 19" for the rear since I purchased the vehicle. I had a nail in one of my tires that came out while on a trip with the Anderson Corvette Association to Madison, Indiana and on the way back that nail came out of the tire after hitting a rumble strip in the middle of Hwy 421 heading back home. My President of the club was about 20 min. ahead of me and came back with the Metal truck (truck with jacks, and tools that travels with the group on all our trips) with tools for repairing any members vehicle while on the road. He taught me about all the tire equipment to have while traveling and got me home that day. Saved me a ton of money. When I took the tire off to get it repaired I saw the tire had cracks all along the bottom of the treads. I learned that these tires only last about 4 yrs. so, found a pod cast from "C&S Corvettes" on TH-cam with Lyle from Sarasota, Florida on how to save money on new tires and still have all weather tires. Which I need since I live 60 miles North of Indianapolis, IN.. "Continental Extreme Contact Sport" which have softer tread than the Run Flats and can stick to cornering much better. Recently my front tires have been skidding around the corners, not holding, and it's because of the tire composition is hard. What I intend on do is to purchase the Continentals tires next year. It will be so nice to have safe & reliable tires for cornering next year. I don't track, but my club is into that, so, I would like to try the Continentals on a slow Autocross track to have some fun. I do have Standard suspension, so, the cornering will not be like a Z06 or anything close, but it will be exciting to try it. I'll have plenty of support from other members if I need it. That in it's self is re-assuring! 😀
good share, had to replace my harmonic balancer and when they did they found the hydraulic line on my steering leaking. Another thing you didn't mention is the oil pressure sensor. It can get shorted out if you steam clean your engine. Had them fix that too.
Just found your channel randomly lol, subscribed I want to see c6 stuff. Can you make a video talking about dailiabillity of a c6 corvette? I was considering getting one but I wouldn't know if it's okay for it
Just my 2c: the C6 makes for a great daily driver. I daily mine when I get tired of daily driving my `99 TA. Even with the manual transmission, it's fine.

@@MrSolara7 Thanks man! Good call on the oil pressure sensor- I’ll be sure to include that one in the part 2! 🙌

@ Totally agree man and thanks for sharing! 👊
The real problem with c6’s is the cup holder being small and melting
You aren’t joking man. I always say I’m going to mention the terrible location of the cup holder but forget haha.
TORQUE TUBE!!!!!!!
For sure! Seen a lot of those issues as well. I'll make sure to put it in the part 2! Thanks man!
3:45 that’s not just a C6 issue, that’s a Chevy problem and it’s a $200 job even if doing it yourself.
I’ve heard that! 🙌

@@KILLMONGERH2 Dang man that is a recurring issue and super frustrating I know. Appreciate you shedding some light on that!
@@Mattsboosted yeah that problem sucks but at least Chevy’s oil pumps and engine last over 250k miles when taken care of most the time
@@KILLMONGERH2 For sure man!
I have no battery issues 😮
