I'm currently living in the US at the moment, having served with the US military, and ending my contract and having to live as a normal civilian here, I can assure you this place is just as dangerous if not even more than the Philippines, mass shootings everywhere, people dying from normal everyday fights, road rage, local act of terrorism, or just plain stupidity. You can't even leave your car parked outside without getting broken in or stolen. If I could go back home in a heartbeat I would do it. Grass isn't always greener on the other side, it's what you make of it.
I'm from Davao, and I can literally walk at night without worrying for my own safety. We have a saying that "You don't have to be afraid if you're not doing anything wrong". The Philippines needs a leader who leads, not a glorified puppet, and Duterte is exactly what the country needs right now. 5 presidents have passed and all of them combined are still nowhere near the achievement of what Duterte has done in his term, and not to mention the current, ongoing and upcoming projects that has already been planned. I believe that I speak for everyone from Davao that we would gladly take him back as our Mayor anytime. This guy has done so much and sacrificed so much for his country yet people only see the bad side of him. But you don't know anything about the programs he had that helped many indigenous tribes back in our hometown, feeding programs he has organized every week for poor families, not to mention the amount of time he puts in as a mayor, where you can literally request to speak to him personally instead of having a mayor who just hides behind his employees. Every year, he celebrates his birthday by having people come over to his house and instead of them giving gifts to them, he's the one giving out gifts to people. Everyone knows that whenever it's birthday, people would flock towards his home and would wait in line with thousands of people. This guy is the absolute definition of a chad, someone who you didn't ask for but you deserved. Fun fact, this guy never lost an election in his entire career, ever.
Ya'll can comment, hate, or dislike this post. I don't care, just want to let you know the world is a shitty place already, sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.

"I would happily burn in hell, for the filipinos to live in heaven'-President Rodrigo Roa Duterte
his way was not killing criminals his way was threatening criminals & there is no law in our country that says you cannot threaten criminals you know what filipinos are positive, resilient & tough but filipinos who went to the darkside & became hardened criminals are a of different breed & the results showed that his ways were the congruent solution to our criminality & drug problem...

It's hard even for me as a Filipino to understand him either English, Tagalog or Bisaya. He is full of "read between the lines" and "fill up the blanks" sentences. It requires a high level of critical thinking skills and deeper level of perception to fully understand him. Not to mention the "sarcasms" and "humors". He is very confusing but that's what I like about him, because all of it shows that he is a very intelligent person and his love for the country is real. For me, he is simply the best president in my generation.

I didn't voted for him but I'm very satisfied with what he achieved for our country. No administration is perfect but I see him as a leader that brought significant change to our country for the better. The rehabilitation of Manila Bay, the infrastructures he built, the opening of Mindanao for tourist to visit without fear of being kidnapped, robbed or killed, these are something I hadn't seen from Corazon Aquino administration to Ninoy Aquino administration. I honestly didn't think that my country will ever have progressive change until Rodrigo Duterte became President. As a Filipino working overseas not by choice but out of necessity, I'd say I am happy with his administration. I look forward for the next administration to find a solution in opening more opportunities in our country so that those who are forced to leave their home will be able to provide a quality life to their family without leaving them behind.

The reason you do not clearly understand what our president is talking about is that you are not a filipino and you don't live in Philippines. If you do, I should say you will understand even a bit of it. We know how the drug problem is destroying our country. When he takes over and declare war on drugs many people especially those belong to the lower class feels more safer traveling, working even you went home late at night. It's far more safer now than before...

He is clear and concise whenever he lays out plans. He simplifies conversation for his audience to comprehend the true intent of the message. More than the words he speak, his actions verbalize his effectiveness.

Don't judge/belittle PRRD on the ground of eloquence and finesse for we're already through with those criteria for a leader/s who had all the graciousness and the eloquence BUT WERE NOT ABLE TO DELIVER/CATER THE PEOPLE's BASIC NEEDS like foods, shelter, education, safety and health insurance. Now, we enjoy free of fees education from kinder up to college in the public schools. The hard-ups' admission in the hospitals are no longer denied for the reason they couldn't give initial payments, he truly advocates "land for the landless" and has brought back the OFWs pride being Filipinos. For us, Filipinos, President Rodrigo Duterte is a superb and altruist leader. A goal- and-result-oriented one, he is the ONLY Philippine' president who maintains high approval, trust and satisfaction ratings in the entire years of his presidency which obviously a great challenge to Mr. Marcos Jr.'s incoming leadership. It's in fact aching for us to know that his term is about to end.

Hello, Ovela. I'm not sure if you recognize me from my previous comments (assuming☺️).
Let me give you a little context of our beloved president. I am from Davao City, a Bisaya speaker and that's one of the factor of our president's accent. He was our unbeatable mayor because he made our city from a crime infested, dead bodies dump site into a safe one because he recognizes that a place's progress is connected to its safety. That's why he said that nowadays, you can go around our city any time of the day without fear of being rob or hurt by any goons. Back in the days, he even roam around the city disguised as a taxi driver just to see for himself if its really safe at the wee hours of the night.
I would like to impress on you that we are a third world country, most of us are below middle class who have had proper education and the way he talks is the most effective way to talk to the masses that's why he is easily understood by many and most often being listen to and obey. That's the reason he made those threats for most addicts need to fear for their life to be able to stop. If you ask some locals in our country, most of them says most of the addicts in their respective areas have change for the better on their own for fear. Those that were killed were the ones who truly fight the police, others also were killed by their own members and I cannot say that the president is clean from all of the killings.
He is the only president who is brave enough to acknowledge the worse drug problem in the country because most drug lords have politicians to back them up just like in the movies. He may not able to extinguish and totally solve the drug problem but at least the masses felt the difference that's why most of us love and appreciate him. Too bad for the family of those who were killed, that's the sad part of this drug war.
Lastly, he said that he's willing to rot into hell as long as he can protect the Filipino people made him so endearing to us because he always got criticize by the religious and high and mighty people because of the way he talks.
We don't really take him literally in all his speeches because he has always a hidden agenda in everything he says or do. He is good in the art of war and he made the Filipinos more aware and caring about the political welfare of the country.
PS: I enjoyed your reaction and I understand your negative comments, our president is the most misunderstood man I have ever known but if you have time, try to look for his accomplishments in the country, you'll be surprised.

BBM is well mannered and communicate with prestigious persons in the world and had an education internationally while Duterte lived in a very normal life, did things that most common people does. He rather eat on the small eatery in the town instead in a classy restaurant. He grew up in a very common way that's why he knows what's the life, problems and the needs poor people in our country. With that we consider Duterte , one of a kind President.

The most important thing is that we Filipinos understand him. We are unconcerned about what foreigners think of him. He may have a poor command of the English language, but he gets the job done.

It doesn't matter if he is good at English or not. As long as every Filipino can understand him in Tagalog or Visayas language so that Filipinos can still understand him in any way he wants to deliver what he wants to deliver and of course also as long as he knows to run the country very well then that's a good sign.
The one example of that is he became a good mayor in Davao right? where he has proven many things that he can lead well a country.
And now he is focused on the future of the country which a good sign too especially for the good of this next generation, and that is the real more important thing here when we talk about being/ to be a good nationalist leader of this country.
Does being good at English mean you are smart? no...language doesn't measure intelligence and deserves to be a president of the country (as we all know) It's just like "Small but terrible" mean "perfect but not absolutely perfect" Realtalk❣️
Another thing is Tagalog is our first main language that whether you are poor or rich many Filipinos will understand you and you will understand them as well because that is your National/native language as being one race.
So I don't see anything wrong with his speech and accent if other races can't understand him it's not his fault. What is more important is that his fellow Filipinos understand him very well.

At first, Ovela is laughing about how PD30 is too straight forward and using strong direct words. It's a laugh of amusement and not of a mock. Second, because Ovela doesn't even understand good Tagalog, much more he wouldn't understand Bisaya accent. I understand him on that but him saying he doesn't get it why PD30 became president because of the Bisaya accent is mocking the Bisaya accent. That I didn't like. He should just keep it to himself. *Sigh*

He's an effective implementor with war on drugs. A big difference was felt. He actually build rehabilitation center for those who will stop and decide to be heal. Killing is not actually for those who are unarmed but for those who fight back and refused to surrender because the police also have to protect themselves.

Imagine looking after over 120 million Filipinos and still he is no good because he doesn’t speak English well? Performance is very well appreciated than talking. He doesn’t deserve any insult to all he has done to us Filipinos. I don’t care you other nationalities think about him. Nobody is perfect.

When I was in the Philippines drug addicts and pushers were everywhere. Robbery, thief, assaults etc. it was scary to walk on the streets at night or take a public transport. Since he started the war on drugs Philippines became safer. No other brave President dared to do what he did for the country. Millions of addicts surrendered and are in rehab now. So I could say he is a good President, in additional he has built many infrastructures like airports improvements, roads, bridges etc.

You will never understand unless you live in the Philippines. We are proud of him he's the reason why our country is safer not only for the citizens but also for the tourist. He's fluent in English it is the accent that may be for you is hard to understand. It's not about talking but also putting words into action That's why we love and respect him. To be honest I feel insulted when you laugh at the way our president talks bare in mind that even in the English exam you won't get a high mark because your accent is perfect. Just saying Thanks. Peace.

Do not be fooled by his 'simple' speech and demeanor. He's not a killer. But he likes you to believe it. Criminals believed it and it made them think twice. The man is complex, calculating and effective. He's actually more like the Batman than the Punisher (what his critics label him sometimes). If you live in the Philippines, you'll know exactly why he's the perfect leader at this time.

That guy reacting has a childish attitude. He cannot grasp President Duterte's message and yet he keeps laughing at him like mocking our President and as a filipino supporting President Duterte, it feels like it mocks me as well. Its funny how commenters/audience keeps supporting this channel while being laughed at. To be completely honest, it hurts me to see someone who isnt even a filipino to mock and laugh at my President.
