When you mentioned how whoever isn't singing is mouthing along, I almost cracked up because Solar just about always sings the entire performance 😆. She brings the mic up for her parts, but in their live performances she's often spotted mouthing everyone's lines. Super cute!
Wheein and Hwasa have been singing together since they were pre-teens. They met at school in Jeonju and against all odds debuted in the same group. 🥰 Their voices fit together in a way that only a close association can create. I just love that! One day I hope they can do a song as a sub-unit because it would be amazing.
They have "loving one person", is not a sub-unit but is beautiful 🥰

The craziest thing about this performance is these aren’t even their songs they’re just covers of older korean songs that they performed on a show called “immortal songs” they just sung them so well that they lowkey became their songs kinda like Jennifer Hudson with “And I Am Telling You” basically anything they sing kinda became like that song for Jennifer in a way
Mamamoo's concerts are 4+ hours long. The fact that they have the stamina and energy to perform like this for so long is mind blowing

Mamamoo's live performances of songs are much better than recordings.
It’s because they eat the studio first before the concert, so when they do the concert, their song become way more beyond the real song
The order from left to right is:
Moonbyul - Solar - Wheein - Hwasa
Most of the time you guys mistook Solar as Moonbyul :( they always keep this order when performing (especially without dancing/just standing and singing performances), and when they're in any shows.
I’m worse I thought moonbyul wheein and solar looked the same but as I got more into them I realize they look so different… in style and personality…

10 years as kpop fan. I’m a big fan of live performances. Mamamoo is definitely on another level. Play a random minus one and mamamoo can give you a whole concert impromptu. Huhu

Yup, they definetly can sing impromptu or casually without back ground music. I doubt other gg can do the same, maybe some are able to do it but they can't match Mamamoo standard.
I love that you really appreciate Wheein’s voice. She often gets overlooked which I can never understand because she’s my favourite vocalist in the group. I love these four, they’re all so talented
She's not overlooked every reaction i saw ...they Always mentioned that wheina is iconic that u can't say anything bad about her voice ....even my biased is hwasa no one can say that wheina is'nt the best vocalist in the group and maybe the best in k-pop

people need to let go of the fact that wheein is overlooked lmao she's the second most biased in the fandom and each and every reactor praises her, also she's promoted really well after she joined thel1ve and her digitals are always high, meaning korean gp loves her so, no more of this , we are tired of this thankyou
Hwasa's voice is very flexible. She can do low register, high register, her falsetto oh my god it's so beautiful, she can growl, rap. What else? She's my favorite, she's amazing.

you should DEFINETLY check out Moonbyul’s solo project “Absence”, it was released last year and it’s a song entirely sang by Byul-yi, you’ll be impressed with her vocal skills!
Hwasa singing like she’s speaking is the reason why she’s my favorite. I love singers who sing like that. They’re very easy to listen to and it’s also why I love a lot of oldies. (And yes, she has a natural rasp. That’s actually what she’s known for.)
A lot of energy to sing like that in the last half of their 4-5 hour concert :)
"Immortal Songs" is a show where each episode features a legend/icon of Korean music (producers, writers, singers, etc). The guests of the show (other singers and artists) are meant to choose a song from that legend, and rearrange it, modernize it (if they want), make it their own, etc. and pay respect to that legend. From early on in their career, Mamamoo were invited on the show. It's a big deal, because they invite serious talent (some legends themselves) to perform/compete. Mamamoo won 3 times (I think?), which is a big deal because (as mentioned above) they were performing with some really great artists. They performed this medley, at their concert, of some of the songs they performed on the show (so these aren’t actually their songs).
I think you would really enjoy their performances, but heads up that reactions to the individual performances often get blocked on TH-cam. So it might be best to check them out on your own 😁

It's amazing how wheein can sound like hwasa and solar sometimes
Hwaaa on the lower part with the growl and wheein on the higher part (there they were talking about Hwasa which they got right)
Actually solar has a really high note but it had been cut😭, and wheein can sing whistle note in a live performance that scared me a lot. They are so amazing that I think they are not only idols but four singers who work harmoniously together.
if you want to watch a completely vocal performance from Mamamoo, I highly recommend their live performance of Where Are We Now, and their queendom performance of I Miss You ❤️❤️ They will 100% blow you away!
I think a completely vocal performance would be Paint Me? WAWNow has very limited Byul lines, and only 1 rap verse, sadly. 😔

I also want to point out wheein and hwasa is doing the growl together and the higher voice doing the growl was wheein😁.... I really enjoy the whole reaction really and kinda laugh for the confusion of solar and moonbyul but still I learned a lot in your reaction. I hope you react to more of their song really they have the best discography and their immortal song performance 🤩

18:30 is actually Wheein growling. Hwasa is harmonizing on the lower note, Wheein is on the top. You can hear her clear voice leading into that growl. :)

And as you said that your favorite changes through the song, the same happened to the majority of moomoos. Our bias changes all the time and most of us are ot4 team 😁 And MMM are 4 rappers, 4 vocalists, 4 dancers, and 4 comedians. They're all round artists that always respect others part so their harmony always makes people shiver 🥰

Thanks so much for reacting to this! I'm just sad that you never commented about the actual moonbyul (I'm not sad you got the names wrong, that's normal, but she's a great rapper). She has some singing works that really showcase her abilities as a singer, one of her best singing works is called "Snow", I would really recommend you to listen to it, I'd just say that you should react to the MV, cause the live performance gets blocked a lot.

This performance is like an onion, the more you watch it there will always be new details that you didn't notice before. That's mostly why this is my fav Mamamoo performance of all time, no matter how much i watched it I'll always get blown away just like the first time i saw it cause i kept on noticing new details from each girls' vocals. A very easy way to tell who is who is that they almost always stand in the exact same order as they are performing, from left to right: Moonbyul, Solar, Wheein, Hwasa.

Wheiinnaaa definitely have the most ''technically full ''' voice she's amazing in everything she does and solar have that power house also monbyol i can't say anything about her but for me HWASA voice is the most unique the most versatile ( not in the technique way ) but she can sing whatever she wants she have a wild range it's hard to notice her voice...
Fun fact: because they are so stable when singing and dancing, some antis said that they’re lip syncing (they never do that, except if there’s some malfunction tech, and they’re really bad at lip syncing only Wheein who got it done well when they first lip syncing 😅) they sometimes cracks their voice or miss their part purposely (Moonbyul once did this, she forgot the whole song, and made some of her parts on the spot) to show that they’re really singing alive 😅
What I love about hwasa is her duality she can do breathy high notes and then go straight into rough lows makes her a world class unique vocalist
Would love to see you both react to Moonbyul's singing (the actual moonbyul lol). A good one would be Snow (her song), but that's only because I love that song 😅 Her collabs and covers are also good!

Hwasa honestly have one of the most unique voices I’ve heard. It’s so raspy but also she can do whistle notes… she has a wide spectrum and can do so much with her voice. She has like a raspy jazzy voice, it’s too good to be true fr

If you look closely, you could see that they did have in-ear, always. In the past Moonbyul and Wheein usually wear both ears but lately they just wear 1
