Pretty sure RBW knows, but they aren't exactly a huge company compared to the rest.
Don't think they would've kept them signed for so long if they didn't know. And also, you gotta remember the beginning. They were told they were different (because they obviously were), but that they would have to rely on their talent.
@@nicki6355 Idk why people are still defending that shitty ass company lol. RBW might have been okay to them from the start but nowadays they don't even care about MMM. It doesn't take a "huge" company to put eng subtitles on their main gg's vids(the bare minimum they could do) considering it's free as fans are already translating for them. Also I refuse to believe not one other company wants to take Hwasa away, lol especially how her image sells so it should be RBW that's thankful that they are still signed to them. The way RBW has the potential to be big and at their peak they actually were. Too bad that's not the case anymore.
@@chyme2465 For one, RBW haven't been a "big" company, and as sorry as it makes me to say, Mamamoo isn't huge. I hate that they aren't cause I believe them to be the most talented group of individuals in all of KPOP (everyone might know them, but they don't bring 100s of millions of views :( ). But they didn't make RBW into a big company. I won't defend shitty behaviour, but they DO give these ladies creative freedom, to an extent not seen much I this industry. They don't force them to change their style just so they can target a larger audience.
And of course they know they are lucky to have them. But also, with the abovementioned reasons, are probably why they stayed. They've hit the 7y mark and to find a place where they can keep doing what they do might not be easy (I'm assuming that older groups have a harder time to get other companies - big ones atlesst - to sign them, especially if they want to keep their creative freedom, but I could be entirely wrong on that point).
@@nicki6355 You make a point, but sadly, the thing with RBW, is that they gave mamamoo creative freedom in the first place simply because they were capable, nowadays the other artists under the company have the same freedom is for the exact same reason. RBW is good at findings talented artists, but their promotion simply sucks. I'm unsure of how much you follow mamamoo, but hwasa's views on her latest comeback just a month ago barely gained any attention, most weren't even aware of it, not to mention how the views plumetted compared to Maria.
Now that moonbyul's comeback is arriving on January 19th, she's managing a large portion of her own promotion, in addition to spending her own money to fund the solo. Despite all this, both hwasa and moonbyul only got, and will get, less than a week to promote their solo comeback. Did I mention that the mamamoo official accounts don't even promote wheein after she's signed under a different label even though she is still a part of the group?
RBW wasn't huge, you're right, but they certainly have been earning quite a lot from MAMAMOO, they paid off their debts in the company within 1 year, and where did the rest of their earnings go?
The views are a problem, but I am positive it was 100% due to RBW's promotional disaster, many like us know all too well of what MAMAMOO has been, and is capable of, but somehow fans that aren't hardcore don't even hear about another comeback? It's genuinely sad.
Just recently, because MAMAMOO earns over half of RBW's income, they've decided to invest even less in their career only to prove the point that they are more than just known as MAMAMOO's label. To be fair, they haven't been half as successful with their other groups compared to MAMAMOO in every single way.
The 7-year mark has been reached, and you're right, it's getting harder for MAMAMOO, and Wheein has left RBW for 6 months by now. I am positive her album sales may be more successful compared to moonbyul's even though they have their comeback in the same timeframe of January.
I know I'm coming off as somewhat aggressive, and I am sorry for that, I don't have anything against you. As you said, RBW's shitty behavior is the only reason they haven't been able to grow larger, and they know keeping MAMAMOO under them is what kept them alive, and will continue to for at least a few more years.
@@nicki6355 ok they weren't big from the start but now they became well known and have more money to invest in them. Also giving your artists freedom and treating them well doesn't have anything to do with being a big or small company

@@KrysLeHobbit I have a theory on this... Irene is an "older" idol, and mamamoos sound and charisma is more familiar to those of us currently in our 30s and above. Also, suga isn't old but he is lovingly known for being the "grumpy grandpa". So naturally our mamamoo can get us oldies to loosen up a bit lol
