Looking pretty much production ready, it is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled in-line three-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum of 300 hp driving all four wheels through an electronically controlled system and a Direct Shift eight-speed automatic transmission.

Akio Toyoda is a person as well as a chairman (know he steped down just recently) which you can only admire about his passion and motivation to give the public interesting driving vehicles and he deserves a place in the pantheon of dedicated petrolheads, if only they were such kind of people to other car manufacturers all around the world.
We need more CEOs/Chairman like Akio Toyoda.
Honestly Akioda Toyoda San seems so fun and down to earth. He seems to want to bring some real drivers cars back into the Toyota brand.

I am happy Akio is still pushing Lexus and Toyota from the backend. His vision for the brands and passion for motorsports is so respectable. I wish I could see this amazing machine coming to Canada so I can finally let go of my beloved GLA45 after owning two of them repeatedly. GR Corolla? great car but I wish it had more amenities and luxury features that's also why this LBX RR is perfect!!
How was the gla45 as a long term proposition? Anything to watch out for when buying one?
@@Alva2323 it’s an AMG so expecting it to have higher than usual maintenance cost compared to non AMG cars. Also there are more rattling noise (headliner on both cars), small electric issues (front and rear parking sensors, 2 door handles got replaced) rand oil leaking (steering wheel column, transfer case, front differential). Some of them got covered under cpo warranty some had a portion got covered by good will by dealership. Overall, nothing insane and i spent about 5k CAD for repairs on both cars (one out of warranty for 2 years). Will I do it again? Hell yeah, gla45 is not meant for everyone but to me it has a more unique character than my c43. That’s why i bought it again after owning c43 for 1.5 year. C43 sounds awesome and has a better interior than gla45 for sure. (Note, mine were all x156 face-lifted, not the chunky boy 2nd gen, which is a suv not a hot hatch😉)

that’s why the 2008 isf didn’t have a dual clutch trans
but a fast shifting torque converter 8 speed in 2008😅
@@mez6256 It really follows the Lexus philosophy and is their mainstay, so Lexus really prioritizes smooth and relaxed driving even though it is their sports car line up, rather than competitors such as BMW or Mercedes, they tend to drive sportier.

@@mez6256there’s no market for them even though they have doubled and tripled the price of there original value and had plenty of success on the racetrack to back it up.Don’t know what your watching but the LFA bought a lot of new things to the brand that they didn’t use or have before.

What an awesome video. IMO, this is the MJ of the auto industry. Broke through the notion of pure profit in production, and brought the people globally truly well built and reliable transportation while also giving us some of the greatest cars ever seen in his tenure. Thanks Akio!
Toyota puts their finger in other manufacturers eye, while they're bringing out more SUV's Toyota is bringing out enthusiasts' cars. I like his thinking; I enjoy small performance cars.

Morizo was his Sensei for race driving so he holds it at the highest esteem, even if he wasn't alive for this car that is why it's named as such.

I really wanted a GR Corolla, but didnt want to be boy racer. THIS is the answer for me. We have owned 3 Lexus cars, and now a 4th, and then if this LBX comes, a 5th.

I think lexus should call this the LBX F just like GS F or IS F... and since GS F is not around anymore. So, why not the LBX F continues the F performance name.
Or CT F because it's more closely related to the CT200 series.

doubt it. It's based on the yaris, and we don't even get the GR yaris here. In america we think luxury is straight line acceleration and large interior space. Small luxury cars are for posers.

@@Shiinamusiclyricssubs It would absolutely sell enough. Lexus is not about numbers. The UX which is totally underpowered sold a little over 10,000 is 2022 and 17,000 in 2021. If the LBX was less expensive it could sell enough.
